Sylvester Stallone will be heading to Philadelphia again for The Epiphany, a new serial killer thriller: more here.
Continuing to keep himself busy and off the streets is Sylvester Stallone, who’s added another project to his current collection.
This one is called The Epiphany, and it’s a new serial killer thriller that’s going to bring Stallone back to the streets of Philadelphia. This time around, he’s not going to be player the heavyweight champion boxer of the world; instead, he’s going to be taking on the role of a police detective on the eve of retirement.
Said police detective sounds suitably grizzled and hard-nosed and – in the style of 1980s movies – he’s going to be teamed up with a young cop. Oh, and just as something a bit leftfield, a priest is being thrown into the mix as well. Perfect.
Between the three of them,...

Much like its characters Hadley and Oliver’s relationship, the final shot of Netflix’s “Love at First Sight” — adapted from Jennifer E. Smith’s best-selling novel — came about by chance, but Smith loves the twist on her book’s ending that closes out the film.
Vanessa Caswill directed Katie Lovejoy’s screenplay for “Love at First Sight,” which brings Hadley Sullivan (Hayley Lu Richardson) and Oliver Jones (Ben Hardy) together in a twist of fate when Hadley misses her flight by just four minutes. Luckily for Hadley, who usually runs late with a barely-charged phone, her departure disaster connects her with Oliver, with whom she shares the next flight to London. By the time their plane lands at Heathrow Airport, the pair have fallen in love.
Oliver made sure to give Hadley his number when they had to split up so that she could get through the customs line,...

Any rom-com needs its lead pairing to work perfectly and I think Richardson and Hardy have great chemistry in the film which makes Love at First Sight all the more enjoyable.

From an abundance of romantic comedies and dramedies arriving on the streamer this month to fun-loving animation that tells heartfelt stories, there is no shortage of stream-worthy content as the colder months approach. While fall technically does not start until Sept. 21, this list may or may not supply some watch suggestions for pumpkin spice season.

The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight author Jennifer E. Smith has nothing but praise for Love at First Sight, the 2023 Netflix adaptation of her 2011 bestselling novel. The new trailer introduces the two strangers whose meet-cute occurs in an airport. Haley Lu Richardson (White Lotus) and Ben Hardy (Bohemian Rhapsody) star as the couple who experience a much more enjoyable flight than most travelers.
Author Smith told Netflix’s Tudum that she’s thrilled with Richardson and Hardy as the leads. “They are such a great Hadley and Oliver. They’re so charming and winning, and they have great chemistry. They just did right by the characters,” said Smith.
Katie Lovejoy adapted Smith’s book and Vanessa Caswill directed. Discussing the author, Caswill noted, “Jennifer was so trusting and generous and not precious in the slightest. […]She wrote me the sweetest email after she finally watched the film. It was so lovely,...

To All the Boys: Always and Forever is a sweet, comforting reminder of so much of what made the original film special. In yet another winning performance, Lana Condor anchors the final adaptation of Jenny Han’s trilogy of YA romance novels about Lara Jean Song Covey as she comes into her own. Through Condor and in this film especially, it’s clear that while Peter Kavinsky (Noah Centineo) and romance will always be important, this is Lara Jean’s story about a young woman learning to step outside her comfort zone and follow her dreams, whatever they may be.
Lj and Peter are back together and facing down their senior year and with it, the prospect of life beyond high school. Opening with Lj’s family trip to her mother’s native Korea, the specter of separation looms large over the usual highlights like prom and the senior trip...

“To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before” and its sequel were nothing if not dependable. When we last left star-crossed teens Lara Jean Song Covey (Lana Condor) and Peter Kavinsky (Noah Centineo), the couple at the heart of Netflix’s most charming YA series had overcome (yet another) near-fatal relationship misunderstanding. For a romance built on miscommunications and cute complications, “To All the Boys: P.S. I Still Love You” offered up more of the sweetness of its predecessor, with a gentle nudge into grown-up concerns. Similar issues frame the final entry in the film trilogy based on Jenny Han’s popular books, which is also touted as the conclusion to the series. “To the All the Boys: Always and Forever” marks the longest entry in the franchise, and it certainly feels it — especially through a middle both overstuffed and inert — but its otherwise keen energy often keeps it afloat.

With “To All the Boys: Always and Forever,” Netflix wraps its epistolary teen-angst trilogy in such a way that those who’ve been following along since the beginning should appreciate: with a letter. What began as a high-concept high school rom-com has gently matured over two and a half years into a surprisingly low-drama look at the questions 21st-century teens ask themselves about love: How does a couple resolve simple differences? What if they don’t both get accepted to the same university? And when is the right time for the first time? Impressively enough, Lara Jean (Lana Condor) and Peter (Noah Centineo) still haven’t taken that step. Turns out, they’re waiting for marriage — just maybe not their own.
Keep in mind, what seems relatively low-drama to audiences certainly doesn’t feel that way to Lara Jean, the college-bound senior who has already spent two movies trying to...

Lara Jean Covey (Lana Condor) has a big decision to make in the trailer for “To All the Boys: Always and Forever,” well a couple big decisions actually: Where does she want to go to college? And does she think her future can include Peter Kavinsky (Noah Centineo) if they decide their higher-education plans do not align?
In the trailer for the final chapter in the “To All The Boys” trilogy of movies, which Netflix dropped Wednesday, you’ll see Lara Jean and Peter happily discussing the idea of going to Stanford together before he proposes… that she go to prom with him. Of course, she says yes, and their senior year continues to be filled with picture-perfect moments up until Lara Jean visits New York and starts to get second thoughts about where she wants to go to college.

By embracing a multitude of different perspectives – ranging from government operatives to civilian informants to innocent bystanders – viewers will find themselves in the unique position of deciding what actually happened.

Exclusive: Fox has handed a script-to-series commitment to The Long Haul, a mother-daughter trucking drama from writer Katie Lovejoy, producer Josh Berman and Sony Pictures TV where Berman’s Osprey Prods. is based.
Written by Lovejoy, The Long Haul is set against the backdrop of the hyper-masculine world of long haul trucking. It is about a young mother and her teenage daughter who flee their small-town. The series charts the journey of these two disenfranchised women navigating life on the road and their dysfunctional relationship, as they slowly, mile by mile, take their power back.
Lovejoy executive produces with Osprey’s Berman and Jennifer Robinson. Sony Pictures TV co-produces with Fox Entertainment.
I hear the deal includes a pilot script, a backup script and a short bible with an option for additional material, which would help Fox brass make an informed decision whether to proceed with a straight-to-series order.

The CW has announced that they’re developing a new Stephen King TV show called Revelations (a working title for now), which will be a one-hour drama based on King’s short story The Revelations of Becka Paulson.
First published in Rolling Stone magazine in July 1984, the tale follows Becka Paulson, who accidentally shoots herself in the brain with a nail-gun. She miraculously survives, but post-injury she suffers vivid hallucinations and soon believes she’s been recruited by Jesus Christ as his “chosen one.” The hallucinatory Christ then tasks her with stopping the apocalypse by proving that Earth is worth saving.
King’s story is being adapted by Maisie Culver (Last Man Standing), Katie Lovejoy (Dead Inside) and Warner Bros TV. As yet, however, there are no details on casting, when the shoot will begin, or whether the initial one-hour drama could be expanded into a full season.

The 2018 pilot season is shaping up to be a landmark year for women behind the camera.
Female creators and directors saw gains virtually across the board, as networks ramp up efforts to include more women in the pilot process. As Variety previously reported, the Time’s Up and Me Too movements have played important roles this season, with the networks all looking for ways to increase female representation.
According to multiple TV literary agents who spoke with Variety, there was a clear shift within the networks this year to increase the number of women behind the camera, particularly in the director’s chair. One source also noted that the studios exerted “immense pressure” to increase the number of female directors this season.
ABC has 13 female creators on 9 of their 23 pilots this year, up from 9 creators in 2017. Of those, five are comedies, including originals from Liz Meriwether and J.J. Philbin, Diablo Cody,...
