We still don’t know when Virgin River is returning to Netflix for Season 6, but why wait for new episodes when you can start having your own adventures in the titular locale?
The streamer on Tuesday released the official trailer for an all-new mobile game set in the world of the hit drama series, giving players the ability to create a character and embark on their own small-town journey. Spoiler Alert: The story includes details about Episodes 509 (Angel’s Peak) and 510 (Labor Day) of Netflix’s series Virgin River.
Part 1 of Virgin River‘s fifth season came to a close with eventful last two episodes. In typical Virgin River fashion, there were bombshell revelations — Lizzie is pregnant, baddie Calvin is the father of Charmaine’s twins, and the big one is the cliffhanger that set up the upcoming Christmas-themed two-episode Part 2 — Mel’s biological father is likely a man from Virgin River, identity unknown (for now).
That last shocker does stretch the limits of believability, even for a soapy romantic drama, as Mel originally landed in Virgin River, a place she said she had never heard of, after answering an ad.
In other developments, Jack takes Mel on a hike to Angel’s Peak to have a heart-to-heart after she had pulled away following her miscarriage. They get lost and rained on,...

I have chills.
The series managed to capture the heart and soul of this drama, with this community having to go through such a traumatic and terrifying ordeal. It was a tough one, but Virgin River Season 5 Episode 6 was one of the series' strongest hours to date.
At five seasons, one of the best aspects of having a series going this long is seeing how much characters have evolved from when we first met them.
And to highlight that even further, we saw that with so many characters put to the test during this natural disaster.
As far as the Dan Brady Redemption Arc, it has been seasons in the making, and while he still has some ways to free himself from Melissa's clutches, it was gratifying as a Brady fan to see him step up and continue to be heroic throughout this ordeal.
It's terrible that the other characters...

Life is dealing the folks of Virgin River with heartwarming and heartbreaking cards.
And frankly, we wouldn't have it any other way, as Virgin River Season 5 Episode 4 served as a bit of calm before the storm, or in this case, before the wildfire.
The hour served as a reminder that we must take the bad with the good in life and can't take anything for granted.
It made it a perfect precursor for what's to come when the wildfires ravage through this small town we know and love.
Do you know what's winsome? A collection of women in their 60s and older reflecting on life and figuring out what their new normal is.
There is often so much discourse surrounding women and aging, and the ladies of Virgin River welcome the concept of aging and the discussions surrounding it and show how beautiful it is.
It also hits you how...

We are 100% here for all the characters on Virgin River growing, evolving, self-reflecting, and trying to be their best selves.
Sometimes, you don't need too many external conflicts to tell a compelling story, and Virgin River Season 5 Episode 3, much like the previous installments, showcases that well.
There's no shortage of conflict coming from outside sources, of course, as the wildfire is approaching and Melissa and her brother both are impacting many people in Virgin River, but the internal work and interpersonal dynamics among characters are most compelling.
The hour introduced us to Lizzie's ambitious, career-driven, opinionated mother, Deidre, and Preacher's scorching hot firefighter love interest.
We also got some endearing moments between Jack and Denny as he continues down his path of healing.
The opener was enough to leave you gasping as you feared that Jack had somehow backslid with his drinking and disrupted things with Mel.
Fortunately, that wasn't the case,...

Spoiler alert: We’re breaking down the premiere of Virgin River Season 5, now (literally) streaming on Netflix. Haven’t watched yet? You’ve been warned.
Greetings, fellow Virgins! … That is what we’re calling ourselves, right? … Screw it, we can workshop the name of the fandom later. We have far more pressing matters to discuss at the moment.

It feels like a season of healing and reflection for many of the characters, and there's something genuinely endearing about that.
In many ways, Virgin River Season 5 Episode 2 felt like a stronger case for the season premiere than Virgin River Season 5 Episode 1.
We got the much-awaited and necessary conversation between Jack and Charmaine, leading to an unexpected display of both individuals taking ownership and accountability for their actions and potentially moving forward healthily.
We also established a theme for the season involving motherhood and reflection as Mel, Preacher, new character Ava, and Charmaine all reflect in various ways on how their mothers influenced their lives and how that applies to their respective journeys now.
The insight into the characters that we've come to love is just knowing, and yes, even those we loathe, led to many compelling scenes within the hour.

Changes are coming to Virgin River, and some of them are surprising.
Most of Virgin River Season 5 Episode 1 caught us up with where things left off during Virgin River Season 4 Episode 10 and eased us into some of the new conflicts and plots we can expect for the season.
One of the most prominent takeaways from the premiere is that Melissa Montgomery is here to disrupt Virgin River's quiet world and all the people within it.
If the hour didn't set anything else up, they touched on how many conflicts would arise because of Melissa's plans and actions and, sadly, because of how Brady and others may get tangled up in her web.
We also saw some new faces arriving, familiar ones departing, and some shake-ups.
Surprisingly, we breezed past those tense final moments of the season four finale that saw Jack learning the shocking truth that he was not the twins' father.

Welcome back to Virgin River. Season 5 of the Netflix drama premieres Sept. 7, and hopefully, it answers all our questions about what’s next for Mel (Alexandra Breckenridge), Jack (Martin Henderson), Brady (Ben Hollingsworth), Brie (Zibby Allen), and the rest of the residents of Virgin River. Season 4 featured plenty of dramatic twists and a few unresolved cliffhangers. Here’s where things stand heading into the show’s two-part fifth season.
Jack is – and isn’t – the father
Virgin River Season 3 ended with Mel’s surprise pregnancy. But she wasn’t sure if she got pregnant from one last round of IVF with her dead husband’s embryos or if she conceived with her new beau, Jack. At first, Jack was hesitant to do paternity testing. He feared that if the baby wasn’t his, he’d feel differently about becoming a father. But eventually, he changed his mind and agreed to do the testing,...

People say you can never go home again. That could be true for Max (Brian Cox) when he returns to his daughter’s house after an extended prison sentence in the new drama Prisoner’s Daughter. Emotions run high as father and daughter reconnect and old wounds open. Boundaries risk getting crossed while Max tries to compensate for the lost time. In Vertical‘s Prisoner’s Daughter trailer, we find Beckinsale and Cox at odds while navigating a damaged relationship. Can Max repair the damage before time runs out?
Catherine Hardwicke directs from a script by Mark Bacci. Prisoner’s Daughter “is a gritty, turbulent thriller that follows Max (Brian Cox) who has been diagnosed with terminal cancer and granted a compassionate release after 12 years in prison with the condition he resides with his estranged daughter, Maxine (Kate Beckinsale),” reads the film’s official synopsis. “As a single mom desperate for income to raise her only son,...

CBS has given a pilot order to S.W.A.T., a drama series inspired by the 2003 Sony movie that was based on the 1975 TV series produced by Aaron Spelling and Leonard Goldberg. The project, executive produced by The Shield creator Shawn Ryan, Neal H. Moritz (Preacher), Justin Lin (Scorpion) and Aaron Rahsaan Thomas, hails from Sony Pictures TV, which will co-produce with CBS TV Studios.
The project had a pilot production commitment with series penalty behind it. It marks the first pilot order under the overall deal Lin’s Perfect Storm Entertainment signed with Sony TV last summer, which is exclusive in broadcast and first-look in cable.
Written by Sleepy Hollow alum Thomas with Fast & Furious helmer Lin set to direct, S.W.A.T. is described as an intense, action-packed procedural following a locally born and bred S.W.A.T. lieutenant torn between loyalty to the streets and duty...
