British director Paul Andrew Williams’ next film is psychological thriller The Nest, starring Vanessa Redgrave and Andrea Riseborough.
Paul Andrew Williams is synonymous with gritty, low budget British filmmaking. Bursting onto the scene in 2006 with London to Brighton, he quickly built up an impressive filmography including showcasing the glorious double act of Andy Serkis and Reece Shearsmith in horror comedy The Cottage, home invasion horror Cherry Tree Lane and a change of direction with sweet musical comedy Song For Marion, which starred Terence Stamp and Vanessa Redgrave. He returned to his roots in 2021 with dark thriller Bull, a revenge story featuring a powerhouse performance by Neil Maskell. It’s a tough watch but a terrific film, it is currently streaming on Netflix.
Williams will with Redgrave for his next film The Nest, the synopsis reads as follows:

Whether playing Di Kate Fleming in Line of Duty or a back-against-the-wall bomb disposal expert in ITV’s Trigger Point, Vicky McClure has mastered the art of procedurals over the years.
But in Paramount+ series Insomnia from The Crown producer Left Bank, in which she plays a career woman, Emma, who experiences a breakdown when she suddenly stops being able to sleep, the actor-producer bucked the trend.
“I feel like I’ve grown up, I’m 40 now,” McClure told an Insomnia Q&a in London late last month. “There’s a lot of procedural drama that I do and I enjoy it, but I was excited to step into something that felt different.” McClure added that she quite enjoyed walking in heels for the entirety of the series, for example.

The highlight of Miley Cyrus' epic Tonight Show takeover on Wednesday night was her fully-committed yet hilarious rendition of Ed Sheeran's hit "Shape of You," sung in Google Translation. The new title was "Your Body's Curves."
The Roots assisted the pop star on the upbeat tune, which turned Sheeran's suave refrain ("I'm in love with your body") to the creepily sterile "I like that cadaver." Cyrus, who has a gift for comedic timing, delivered the weirdness without missing a beat.

Did NBC just use The Voice Top 10 results night to aggressively cross-promote upcoming premieres of Christmas of Many Colors: Circle of Love and Hollywood Game Night?
Yeah, sure, but who cares? We got not one but two performances from living legend Dolly Parton, a mildly amusing bit of filler in which Jane Lynch got Blake Shelton and Miley Cyrus to sing into a fun-house microphone and an appearance by Pentatonix that makes me wonder if the Peacock Net might be considering a relaunch/reboot/revival of The Sing-Off. (I mean, they brought back Heroes for a minute, so anything’s possible.

Sometimes you've got to play dirty if you want to win at ten dimensional chess.
I'm just hoping that Elizabeth's outside the box thinking on Madam Secretary Season 3 Episode 4 doesn't come back to bite her in the ass. I'm pretty sure she's in the clear, but you never know what's going to look like favor trading to the press. At least she managed to help the people of Angola.
Things aren't looking as good for the team at Black Dog Station though. A time sensitive situation may have forced them to make a fatal error by moving too quickly.
Cross promotional hype is almost always lame, but by attempting to pimp CBS Sports and the NFL, Madam Secretary may have hit a new low. I know this wasn't anybody on the writing teams idea, and that it was almost positively a mandate handed down from corporate to the producers. But man,...

That was disappointing.
Not a lot happened on Outcast Season 1 Episode 3 as no questions were answered and more mysteries were thrown our way.
I don't know about you guys, but I was pretty frustrated with this hour. It really went nowhere.
We got treated to another demonic possession, but this one was a bit different. It was certainly nastier than what was inside Joshua. At least Joshua didn't brutally kill like Blake did.
Blake was also immune to the Reverend's attempts at exorcism, which was new. I couldn't help but laugh when Blake started convulsing to convince Anderson his possession was real, only to turn around and scoff at the guy.
This was a pretty mean demon.
Is this actually your job? Do you do kid parties too?

After a surprising night of results (you're really going to save Paxton, Blake?), the Top 12 of The Voice season 10 are ready to take the stage. It's not all cause for excitement, however. The snail's pace elimination practice of season 9 is back in effect, so that means only one artist will be taken out of the Top 12.
While it is somewhat disappointing that The Voice live eliminations won't mean much for some time, this does mean that the artists have more time than usual to grow and improve. Considering the talent of the two frontrunners, Alisan Porter and Shalyah Fearing, that time might prove invaluable. This is the first night to find out if the Top 12 will make the use of that time. Remember, this is a live blog, so stay on this page and update every 15 minutes or so for the latest updates!

The Voice has a lot to do in its second night of the Live Playoffs. Thankfully, half of the teams have already gone, but now Teams Blake and Pharrell will be taking the stage to perform for our votes. So we can whittle this unwieldy number of contestants down to a much more manageable number. Though, because I'm a closeted celebrity gossip fan, I'll be watching to see if Blake and Gwen address their new relationship at all.

Season 9 of The Voice is fully loaded with competing artists chosen during the Blind Auditions. Team Blake, Team Adam, Team Gwen and (after 12 hours of auditions) Team Pharrell have named the 48 artists who will go on to vie for the title of The Voice. In this round, teammates are pitted against each other to perform duets, which will determine whether or not they continue to the Knockouts. Remember, this is when the steal comes into play. Any artist not chosen as a winner of their own Battle can be scooped up by another coach. So, once again, we have coaches vying to work with the best artists.
Joining the coaches to advise the competitors are mega performing/producing artists who rule the music industry today. Gwen will work with Selena Gomez to advise her dueling duo in the first round of Battles, and Pharrell is working with Missy Elliott to advise his first duo.

Before you have any nightmares, please don’t worry … the original Matthew Joseph Peak creations are included in the packaging.
The set comes complete with the trademark knitted Freddy sweater encasing the outer box.
The world was introduced to Wes Craven’s Freddy Krueger (portrayed by Robert Englund) in 1984 with A Nightmare On Elm Street. Krueger was a former child killer seeking revenge against the parents who burned him by haunting the dreams of their teenage children and killing them in their dreams.

Remember Kinvig, Clone, Not With A Bang? These are the UK sci-fi sitcoms you’re unlikely to see on comedy best-of lists…
With E4 sci-fi comedy commissions, Tripped and Aliens, and in-development Channel 4 projects, Space Ark and Graham Linehan/Adam Buxton collaboration The Cloud, in the works, a new crop of sci-fi sitcom could be making its way to UK TV.
Making funny sci-fi on a small-screen budget is tough enough without the additional pressure of having to attract viewers more traditionally down-to-earth in their sitcom tastes. Sci-fi sets and effects can be seen as prohibitively expensive by comedy commissioners (which is perhaps why the best UK sci-fi sitcoms of recent years has been on BBC Radio), and the genre’s niche status doesn’t scream mainstream hit. Over the years, one or two stand-outs have managed to straddle the sci-fi and comedy TV worlds, but plenty more have stumbled in the attempt.

Maybe it’s time to stop saying The Voice does nothing to promote its alumni (even though none of ’em have achieved Carrie Underwood- or Kelly Clarkson- or even Chris Daughtry-level success).
Sure, Tuesday’s Top 6 results featured a random (and interminable) interview with the cast of the Entourage movie (did I hear The One With the Hair call it a “bigger, more epic, better… fantasy ride”?). But the one-hour telecast also made room for performances by four former contestants — Season 1’s Vicci Martinez, Season 3’s Avery Wilson, Season 5’s Jacquie Lee and Season 7 champ Craig Wayne Boyd.

The Voice‘s “Twitter Save” is a curious thing. It asks us to (possibly) veto the will of Monday-night voters in exchange for adding a heaping teaspoon of sriracha to the unflavored polenta that is a typical results-show telecast.
But riddle me this: What if NBC insisted you go to Myspace to rescue a member of the Bottom 3 from being sent to the guillotine? Or if you were forced to create a Vine (the absolute Worst) to make yourself heard? Would you go out to the nearest intersection and create a makeshift smoke signal in an effort to keep a particular singer in the mix?...

The 1990′s introduced the world to Quentin Tarantino, saw the creation of the Nc-17 rating, and began the slow call toward fully computer animated films. It began the slow (still slow) movement toward a more diverse industry, with the first African-American director earning an Oscar nomination (John Singleton for “Boyz in the Hood”). And the year after one of the greatest years in the history of film, 1995 came plodding along, trying to keep up. So, for the first definitive list of 2015, we are going to look back 20 years at a year that, at first glance, doesn’t look so hot. It’s ripe with flops, but it’s also full of debuts, trailblazing beginnings, and better films than it gets credit for. But, the caveat still stands: this is not a “best of” list. In fact, there are a lot of bad movies on this list. But, they are movies that made a cultural impact,...

Remember how much you loved Beyoncé and Jay Z's star-studded "On the Run" video? Well, get ready to freak out all over again, because she just shared a series of behind-the-scenes snaps from the shoot on her blog. The photos feature Beyoncé and her husband filming bank-robbery and getaway-car shots, as well as stills of a heavily bearded Jake Gyllenhaal, sisters Kidada and Rashida Jones, and Emmy Rossum, who portrayed a police officer in the clip. Also in the photo album is a black-and-white picture of Beyoncé and Blake Lively; Blake played the role of the singer's supportive best friend and looked just as smiley next to Bey as she did during their recent night out together at Gucci's Chime For Change event. Now that the playoffs are over, this season of The Voice has found its Top 12, and it’s time to vote!
You’ve read the recap, and now I present my most updated Power List, ranking the players on where they stand in the competition as of the playoff performances on Tuesday, April 15. Remember, we’ve seen these artists so spread out throughout the year that next week’s first live show will be a sprightly reminder of comparing them all on the same playing field. That explains the major jumps in this list from last week to this week.

Stars: Robert De Niro, Michelle Pfeiffer, Tommy Lee Jones, Dianna Agron, John D’Leo, Jimmy Palumbo, Domenick Lombardozzi, Stan Carp, Vincent Pastore, Jon Freda, Michael J. Panichelli Jr. | Written by Luc Besson, Michael Caleo | Directed by Luc Besson
Remember that Robert De Niro guy, the one that impressed us in movies like Mean Streets, Taxi Driver and Goodfellas? Along with Al Pacino more recently we’ve seen them move more to comedy with somewhat mixed results. It’s fair to say that Pacino has suffered more, with De Niro and up to a point he’s been able to keep that wise guy style image intact, which probably made casting him in The Family easy.

The release of The Jungle Book on Blu-ray today has become, as when Saving Mr. Banks was unveiled a couple months ago, an unplanned forum on a most thorny issue for the Disney uber-fan: was Walt Disney a racist/sexist/anti-Semite, and if so, was he a super-racist/sexist/anti-Semite, or just your average, garden-variety racist/sexist/anti-Semite? Even though the 1967 animated film based loosely on a collection of stories by Rudyard Kipling opened months after Disney passed away, this was the last film on which he had any serious impact. And, since Meryl Streep chose to make her speech applauding Emma Thompson for her performance as P.L. Travers in Saving Mr. Banks as much about exactly how bad a man Walt Disney was, the issue of his true personal feelings–whatever those may have been–and whether or not they crept into the films he made has become unavoidable as of late.

Before The Voice’s first season premiered, it was marketed as the reality singing competition that would get rid of all the gimmicks. It was about nothing but pure talent. There weren’t judges, but instead, there were friendly coaches, who would find good vocalists and help them become great. The auditions were blind, which ensured that only the very best singers would get the chance to compete on the show, regardless of their appearance. It was all about the notes, the runs, the falsettos, and the voices that sent chills down viewers’ spines. This was The Voice.

Might there finally be a clear frontrunner on this season of The Voice? Because Cole Vosbury has had a pretty solid showing on the iTunes songs chart every week since viewer voting began (this week he's virtually neck and neck with Tessanne Chin, who's at the head of the class for the very first time). At the very least, he is the dark horse to keep an eye on – especially because he hails from three-time winner Blake Shelton's team. (Plus, there's the whole Duck Dynasty vibe he gives off with that broom-like beard.

The rise of complex TV series and vast novels shows we still prefer commitment to a quick fix
The young woman opposite on the tube last week was lost in Donna Tartt's new novel, The Goldfinch. She personified the truth that attention deficit disorder is a lie. I'm not saying she was weirdly small, but she could have used the 771-page book as a coffee table. She was about halfway through and the covers kept springing back in defiance of her struggling fingers. When she finally got off at Earl's Court she looked like she needed assistance, or a trolley.
Why didn't she read Tartt as an ebook? Why did she choose this inefficient delivery system that proves what Philip Larkin wrote at the end of A Study of Reading Habits, namely that "books are a load of crap"? There seem to be two reasons.
One, the notion of conspicuous consumption developed by Thorstein Veblen.

It would appear the rumors may not be all that far-fetched of tension between "The Voice" coach Blake Shelton and his wife, "Mama's Broken Heart" singer Miranda Lambert, over a certain blonde-haired fellow coach of Blake's.
Shelton reveals in a new behind-the-scenes video that he at one time had a little thing for Christina Aguilera.
"Having Christina and CeeLo back here this year, it's almost like they never left," Blake says. "I mean, we fall right back into our idiotic crap that we say to each other. I mean, it's like the family's back together again." So, he thinks of Xtina as a sister, right? Well, apparently that wasn't always the case.
During a hang session in the "coach compound," Shelton and Aguilera reminisce with Adam Levine, CeeLo Green and host Carson Daly about the moments when they each met for the first time.

It took six episodes into the season for things to gel, but "Motel California" was a flawless episode of Teen Wolf. Yes, you read that right. After all of my whining over the past five weeks, I couldn't find a single thing to complain about from this hour. It was exceptional.
It was essentially a continuation of "Frayed," as the kids found themselves still stranded in the middle of nowhere on the way to the track meet and they pulled over to the Glen Capri Motel. This particular motel had the highest rate of suicides of any other in California and included that of one Alexander Argent, Mr. Argent's uncle, back in 1977.
Instead a taking the traditional route to the next round of sacrifices, Stiles and Lydia eventually deduced they were drawn there specifically to kill three werewolves. This was good stuff!

Now that we're four episodes into "Teen Wolf" Season 3, it's time to begin puzzling over the identity of the Big Bad. Last season, it was the kanima (and the person controlling that monster). This season, it seems to be an evil, serial-killing, human-sacrificing druid with an awesome soundtrack.
So who is the darach? We rank the 10 most likely choices here:
1. Jennifer Blake, English teacher and Derek Hale potential love interest
Look at the facts: Ms. Blake is new. The freaky birds attacked her class at school. Mr. Harris, who seemed to know his attacker, was a co-worker. This English teacher randomly hangs out in high-school boiler rooms shortly before dawn. Her being a good guy would make Derek happy.
Obviously, Jennifer Blake is evil. But is she creepy-music-toting evil?
2. Gerard Argent
Remember how Grandpa Gerard went and disappeared mere seconds after he supposedly died in a fountain of black goo in the Season 2 finale?...

The battle rounds on ‘The Voice’ are always intense, so when season four’s kicked off April 15, we weren’t surprised to see fierce performances, tough choices… and of course, shocking steals!
Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, Usher and Shakira did not have it easy April 15 on The Voice. Night one of the battle rounds was full of outstanding performances, leaving the judges in tough spots. But Team Usher may need to put in a little more effort in order to make a lasting impression.
Usher May Be Impossible To Impress
When it was time to see Team Usher, the singer chose Jess Kellner to go up against Taylor Beckham, and we knew it was going to be an epic fight. Usher chose Amy Winehouse’s “You Know I’m No Good” to showcase both their strong voices — but he wanted more.

Brace yourself Bat-fans. Remember that tease at the end of "The Dark Knight Rises" that positioned Joseph Gordon-Levitt's John "Robin" Blake as Bruce Wayne's superhero successor? It may have been more than a tease.
