Few would argue against the idea that Cate Blanchett is one of the great actresses of her generation. The sheer versatility she has displayed in her performances on film has especially made her one of the world’s most sought-after screen stars over the past three decades. For 2022, she received her eighth career Oscar nomination for “Tar.”
In 2021, in the span of just a few weeks, she displayed her signature multi-talent: For Adam McKay’s “Don’t Look Up,” Blanchett turned herself into a cable news host in the vein of Megyn Kelly or Mika Brzezinski to score major laughs in the biting comedy; for Guillermo del Toro’s “Nightmare Alley,” Blanchett transformed into a 1940s femme fatale who gets one over on an overconfident con man (Bradley Cooper).
Blanchett has two Academy Awards wins for “The Aviator” (2004) and “Blue Jasmine” (2013), prevailing as a supporting actress the first time and then as a lead.

Mika Brzezinski got a huge surprise on Thursday’s (May 2) episode of MSNBC’s Morning Joe when her husband and co-host, Joe Scarborough, abruptly stopped the show to present her with a sweet birthday gift. In the clip, which the official Morning Joe X account posted online, Brzezinski introduces a segment featuring Dan Kilcoyne, the President and CEO of Mini Melts Ice Cream. But before she can start interviewing the creator of her favorite snack, Scarborough begins ringing the bell on his desk. Brzezinski can be heard gasping off-screen before the camera turns back to Scarborough, who says, “Mini Melts. Come on over, Dan.” Scarborough directs Kilcoyne over to the side of the stage in front of a display hidden behind a sheet. He then asks Brzezinski, who is sitting open-mouthed, to come and join them. Morning Joe celebrates our own Mika Brzezinski’s birthday with her favorite dessert: Mini melts!

Norby Williamson, the ESPN veteran who has managed everything from NFL coverage to “SportsCenter,” is leaving the Disney sports-media giant abruptly just weeks after being called out on camera in a surprise and unprecedented outburst by daytime host Pat McAfee.
The McAfee contretemps is not at the root of Williamson’s departure, according to a person familiar with the matter, but rather disagreements between the executive and the longer-term strategy being devised by Burke Magnus, who was handed oversight of content and news production in March of last year.
“Almost 40 years ago in 1985, I was so very fortunate to be offered an opportunity at ESPN,: Williamson said in a statement that was issued in a memo to staffers Friday. “Due to the exceptional hard work, creativity and commitment of the people of ESPN, and to a much lesser extent my contributions, I’d like to think we’ve left...

NBC News has terminated former Republican National Committee chair Ronna McDaniel as a political analyst just days after hiring her after an unprecedented revolt among its anchors and staffers at its news division, who questioned why a person who supported former President Donald Trump‘s false statements about the 2020 election was hired in the first place.
“There is no doubt that the last several days have been difficult for the News Group,” NBCUniversal News Group President Cesar Conde told staff in an email. “After listening to the legitimate concerns of many of you, I have decided that Ronna McDaniel will not be an NBC News contributor.”
“I want to personally apologize to our team members who felt we let them down,” Conde wrote. “While this was a collective recommendation by some members of our leadership team, I approved it and take full responsibility for it.”

Ronna McDaniel is out at NBC News. The former Republican National Committee head has been let go just four days after it was announced that she’d been hired as a paid contributor — a position that reportedly would have earned her $300,000 a year.
NBCUniversal News Group chairman Cesar Conde announced the news to his staff via email on Tuesday, according to CNN alum Brian Stelter: “There is no doubt that the last several days have been difficult for the News Group. NBC News has cut ties with former RNC chair Ronna McDaniel, just days after she was announced as a paid analyst for the network. There had been a growing internal backlash at the division over her hire.
Meanwhile, CAA also has dropped McDaniel as a client, sources familiar with the situation tell Deadline.
A source also confirmed reports that McDaniel was seeking potential legal options for her next steps.
NBCUniversal News Group Chairman Cesar Conde made the announcement about McDaniel’s exit in an memo to staffers (see it in full below). In his missive, Conde took responsibility for what happened, but it was unclear whether there will be further repercussions.

NBC News has officially decided to part ways with its newest on-air contributor, Ronna McDaniel, the former Republican National Committee chair, just days after she was hired.
“After listening to the legitimate concerns of many of you, I have decided that Ronna McDaniel will not be an NBC News contributor,” NBC News Group chairman Cesar Conde wrote in a memo to staff Tuesday afternoon. “No organization, particularly a newsroom, can succeed unless it is cohesive and aligned. Separately, McDaniel has been dropped by CAA, the agency that repped her in the deal with the network, sources confirm to The Hollywood Reporter.
The former Republican National Committee chair was hired by NBC News on March 22 as an on-air contributor, and she made her NBC debut on Sunday’s edition of Meet the Press, where she was grilled by Kristen Welker.

A long line of MSNBC’s most popular anchors spent Monday calling out the network’s corporate sibling, NBC News, for its hire of former Republican National Committee chair Ronna McDaniel in a stunning display of internal rifts laid bare on the TV screen.
The hire of McDaniel as a contributor is “inexplicable,” Rachel Maddow said on MSNBC Monday night as part of a half-hour commercial-free monologue that painted the former politico as one in a line of fascists and would-be usurpers who have tried to take over America’s political process. McDaniel, who during her time as RNC head helped former President Donald Trump in his efforts to nullify the 2020 presidential election, said Maddow, “is part of an ongoing project to get rid of our system of government.”

Update: Rachel Maddow devoted the top of her MSNBC show to outlining the reasons for her objections to NBC News’ hire of former Republican National Committee chair Ronna McDaniel, calling the decision “inexplicable” and challenging some of the network spin in response to the backlash.
“I will tell you, the fact that Ms. McDaniel is on the payroll at NBC News, to me that is inexplicable,” she said. “You wouldn’t hire a wiseguy, you wouldn’t hire a made man like a mobster to work in a D.A.’s office, right? You wouldn’t hire a pickpocket to work as a Tsa screener. So I find her decision to put her on the payroll inexplicable, and I hope they will reverse their decision.”

Ronna McDaniel was supposed to be the new star contributor at NBC News. Now her position there is looking increasingly untenable.
NBC News hired the former Republican National Committee chief last week, betting that her recent access to the Trump campaign and Republican politicians would make her a valuable analyst as the 2024 election cycle intensified. But in recent days, her ability to do just that seems unclear. On Monday, Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski suggested on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” that NBC News reconsider its hire. A day earlier, Chuck Todd took to “Meet The Press” to chastise NBC News bosses for making moderator Kristen Welker conduct a news interview she had previously booked with McDaniel now that she was a paid operative of NBC and potentially less able to respond truthfully to hard questions.
It seems very likely that her position at NBC will remain in the news for the immediate future.

The fallout continues at NBC News over the hiring of former Republican National Committee chair Ronna McDaniel.

“We weren’t asked our opinion of the hiring but if we were, we would have strongly objected to it for several reasons,” he continued, discussing her role in the aftermath of the 2020 Election to pressure election officials.
“To be clear, we believe NBC News should seek out conservative Republican voices to provide balance in their election coverage,” Brzeznski continued. “But it should be conservative Republicans, not a person who used her position of power to be an anti-democracy election denier,...

Former President Donald Trump was criticized by his own former vice president, Mike Pence, for saluting prisoners who participated in the January 6 Capitol riot and calling them “hostages” during the introduction of his Dayton, Ohio campaign rally.
“Ladies and gentlemen, please rise for the horribly and unfairly treated January 6th hostages,” the moderator of the rally on March 16 stated over the loudspeaker.
Trump raised his right hand and saluted as the “January 6 Choir” sang the “Star Spangled Banner.” The choir is composed of Proud Boys, Oath Keepers and others imprisoned for helping to advance the failed insurrection.
The rally started with the Pledge of Allegiance recited by January 6 defendants serving time in the Washington, D.C., jail.
“You see the spirit from the hostages, and that’s what they are: hostages,” Trump claimed at the rally. “They’ve been treated terribly and very unfairly. And you know that and everybody knows that.

President Joe Biden‘s wife, First Lady Jill Biden, fiercely defended her family against relentless attacks by House Republicans.
She specifically addressed the display of nude photographs of her stepson, Hunter Biden, in congressional hearings. She described these actions as “horrible” and “cruel” and highlighted the cruelty inflicted upon her son.
“I love my son,” Jill told MSNBC’s Mika Brzezinski. “It’s hurt my grandchildren. That’s what I’m so concerned about, that it’s affecting their lives as well.”
The first lady’s interview aired shortly after Hunter unexpectedly appeared at a contempt hearing on Capitol Hill, which resulted in chaos when Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Georgia) displayed lewd photos of him.
House Republicans have relentlessly targeted Hunter and claimed that Biden used his position for personal gain through his son’s business ventures.
The president has consistently denied any involvement in his son’s business affairs.

Technical issues sent MSNBC on a Tuesday-morning scramble.
The NBCUniversal-backed cable news outlet was forced to run more than ten minutes of promos and ads and a snippet of a repeat from Lawrence O’Donnell’s primetime show just after 6 a.m. as engineers and staffers grappled with an as-yet-unknown glitch that kept “Morning Joe” from coming on the air at its usual time. Finally, “Morning Joe” co-anchor Mika Brzezinski surfaced on air at about 6:11 a.m. to kick off the program and apologize for the delay.
“Thanks for bearing with us, everybody,” Brzezinski. Viewers had initially seen a shot of the U.S. Capitol at the top of the hour along with some of the strains of The Who’s seminal rock song “Baba O’Riley.”
MSNBC declined to comment. Jonathan Lemire, the anchor of the 5 a.m. program, “Way Too Early,” cited “technical difficulties” via a post on the social-media platform X.

Rep. Gregory Meeks expressed fear Tuesday that in addressing the ongoing Israel-Hamas War, “people have forgotten or are not talking any longer” about the Oct. 7 terrorist attack on Israeli civilians.
“We’ve got to go after Hamas,” the Democrat from New York told “Morning Joe” hosts Joe Scarborough, Mika Brzezinski and Jonathan Lemire. Republican presidential hopeful Chris Christie did not appreciate “Morning Joe” host Mika Brzezinski’s criticisms about the GOP debate on Thursday morning, particularly in regards to how the topic of Trump was handled.
For Brzezinski and her co-hosts, the debate was “an embarrassing mess” full of “cringy” and “awkward moments.” But their biggest concern was how little any of the candidates actually called out Trump for his actions. So Brzezinski immediately asked Chris Christie about it during his appearance on the show.
“What the heck was that? What happened last night?” she said bewilderedly. “Donald Trump is the frontrunner. He’s the former president of the United States, a judge found him liable for massive fraud, and he called for the execution of the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs. Age continues to be an issue for the Biden administration, as voters worry President Joe Biden is too old to serve out a second term, should he win re-election. But MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” crew had some advice for Biden: simply embrace it.
On Monday morning’s episode of the show, host Joe Scarborough was once again frustrated by new polling putting Biden at low odds against Trump, but noted that the Republican party is clearly “divided” right now. Scarborough posed the question of whether a “viable, strong message” from Democrats could give them the edge over the next year, and panelist Charlie Sykes argued yes.
He even had that message ready to go.
“It’s not really that complicated. Joe Biden can say, ‘Yes, I’m old, but he is crazy. They are crazy, and they are dangerous, and they are burning it down,'” he said, earning a laugh from host Mika Brzezinski.

As Rudy Giuliani’s financial and legal woes continue to pile up, the hosts of “Morning Joe” have no sympathy for the man once dubbed “America’s mayor.” On Friday morning, the MSNBC crew joked that he’s turned into “America’s deadbeat,” and that he brought it all on himself.
This week, it was reported that Giuliani ignored a court order instructing him to pay legal fees to election workers he defamed, is currently being sued by his own former lawyers for $1.4 million in unpaid fees, and he was hit with allegations that he inappropriately groped Cassidy Hutchinson, a former Trump White House aide who gave an explosive testimony against Trump last year.
“Every day, really. Every day, it gets worse for the guy who once called himself America’s mayor,” Joe Scarborough mocked on Friday. “You know, I don’t know if he faces prison, if he faces bankruptcy,...

The hosts of “Morning Joe” characterized Donald Trump’s recent interview with Megyn Kelly as a straight-up confession to the federal documents-handling charges he faces from special prosecutor Jack Smith.
Hosts Mika Brzezinski and Joe Scarborough opened their MSNBC show Friday with highlights from Kelly’s one-on-one with Trump broadcast Thursday on Sirius Xm: “More now from that interview, where Donald Trump seemed to confess to some of the federal charges against him,” Brzezinski said.
“It happens,” Scarborough said. “When he talks, it happens, all the time.”
“Crimes. Yes,” continued Brzezinski. “Host Megyn Kelly pressed Trump on his handling of classified materials and the audio recording of him showing a classified document to people at his golf club in New Jersey.”

Donald Trump challenged President Biden, Rupert Murdoch and more to a mental acuity test in another angry Truth Social rant, fueled by the confidence of “acing” his last one. But, as MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” hosts argued, this idea would definitely “not work out well” for Trump “on so many levels.”
Trump’s latest screed came Sunday in response to a new poll from the Wall Street Journal, which asked voters for their thoughts on both Biden and Trump’s age and mental state, in relation to being president again.
“In a phony and probably rigged Wall Street Journal poll, coming out of nowhere to softened [sic] the mental incompetence blow that is so obvious with Crooked Joe Biden, they ask about my age and mentality,” Trump wrote. “Where did that come from?”

A fourth indictment against Donald Trump officially came on Monday, and yet, many Republicans are still standing by him. But “Morning Joe” host Joe Scarborough isn’t too worried about that anymore. According to the MSNBC host, they can “lie all they want” for the former president, “but it doesn’t change a damn thing” about his situation.
On Tuesday morning, “Morning Joe” host Mika Brzezinski first marveled that Republicans were even still defending Trump and making “ridiculous parallels.” But Scarborough wasn’t surprised at all, saying it stems from the fact that “they’re still playing the game of politics.”
“They somehow missed the memo months ago that this has turned from a political facade, a political charade, into a deadly serious legal issue, regardless of where the indictments are,” Scarborough said.

Donald Trump’s third indictment may be the leading news story this week, but that doesn’t mean Joe Scarborough wants to keep looking at the former president’s face. In fact, the MSNBC host was so disgusted by it on Thursday morning that he ordered the “Morning Joe” producers to take down a graphic of Trump mid-show.
First, Scarborough directed his outrage at Trump allies who, in the wake of the latest charges coming down against Trump on Wednesday, are mostly choosing to continue defending him.
“It’s like they’re willing to just totally screw America, to trash America for this guy!” Scarborough yelled. But, as he went off on them, the “Morning Joe” host got even angrier just at interstitial photos of Trump while he was speaking.
“I don’t want to see his face. Take him down,” he said over and over. “I don’t want to see his face.

SAG-AFTRA is set to formalize their strike plans on Thursday afternoon, after a midnight deadline on Wednesday passed without a new contract agreement with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP). The strike will mark the first time both SAG-AFTRA and the WGA will be on strike together in 60 years and, on Thursday morning, the hosts of MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” voiced their support for the situation.
As hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski discussed the negotiations, Scarborough explained that “at some point, this really starts to put a dent in the media companies’ bottom line,” but he and his colleagues were totally fine with that, considering it’s happening because actors and writers are simply trying to get fair compensation.
“A lot of people hear these stories, hear us reporting on these stories, and they think ‘Oh, a bunch of actors and screenwriters, they all make a lot of money.

Joe Scarborough wasn’t pleased with co-host Mika Brzezinski on Tuesday morning when she wanted to ask the first question of their guest for the day. The MSNBC host snarked that Brzezinski “always cuts me off” — and then proceeded to steamroll the question she was able to get out.
The moment came as the pair (who are married) welcomed Republican presidential hopeful Chris Christie to the show, who apparently stipulated that they could ask him any question they wanted, as long as it wasn’t about the Mets’ current standing. Brzezinski assured she would be asking something much more important, before meeting Scarborough’s irritation.
“Well let me start then, I won’t ask about — no, no, let me go first,” she said, as Scarborough attempted to interject. “I just need to know what to do with this.”

This 4th of July weekend, Donald Trump largely spent his time, as he often does, on social media, sharing memes of himself or in support of him. One in particular though, in which Trump was turned into George Washington, drew mockery from Willie Geist on Wednesday morning’s episode of “Morning Joe.”
The photo, shared on July 4 by Trump, has his head superimposed onto the body of George Washington, leading troops in battle. There is no text on the image, nor did Trump add a caption to it; it was posted with absolutely no context. So, Geist took it upon himself to add some.
“The obvious distinction there, one of many, is that George Washington was a soldier, Donald Trump chose not to be one,” Geist said bluntly. And, without taking a breath, he simply moved on in the discussion.

Senator Lindsey Graham was met with loud boos at a rally for Trump over the holiday weekend, taking place not far from Graham’s own hometown. Come Wednesday morning, the “Morning Joe” almost pitied him for the “beyond sad and depressing” moment — but not quite.
The booing began on Saturday even before Graham took the stage, and largely persisted throughout his entire speech, save for a moment in which he asked the Trump crowd if they thought Trump “was a great president,” which earned the only cheers Graham got. When Trump himself took the stage, he did nothing to dissuade those boos, instead staying “I’m gonna get him straightened out.”

As Donald Trump continues to face fallout from recently leaked audio of him seemingly showing off classified documents, Mika Brzezinski isn’t so sure that he didn’t create that fallout personally. During Thursday’s episode, the “Morning Joe” host suggested that it might’ve been Trump himself who leaked the audio.
Brzezinski’s theory came in response to Republican presidential hopeful Chris Christie saying on CNN Wednesday night that Trump “will lie about anything,” adding that “there’s nobody in America who believes” Trump’s excuse that he didn’t hand over the boxes because he had personal belongings in them.
Brzezinski reminded viewers that Christie worked closely with Trump and as a result, is pretty well-informed on how he operates. But, she also recalled her own experiences with the now-twice-indicted former president, and added a new suggestion.

In addition to promising pardons to those involved with the January 6 attacks on the Capitol, Donald Trump has now promised to donate to the legal fund of the defendants still awaiting their fate. But the hosts and panelists of MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” are a bit skeptical on that promise, considering it would mean the twice-indicted former president would have to “give away any of his own money.”
In discussing Trump’s latest pledge on Monday morning, host Mika Brzezinski called it “pretty twisted,” but Jonathan Lemire was largely unsurprised.
“The bottom just keeps getting lower. Why not?” Lemire snarked. “I mean, he’s called January 6 a beautiful day, he has promised to pardon most of the January 6 rioters, he has now suggested he’ll make a contribution to the legal defense fund and, of course, let’s not forget, he has appeared with a January 6 choir convent.”

With Republicans claiming that the plea deal offered to and accepted by Hunter Biden was “a sweetheart deal,” the hosts of “Morning Joe” are firing back. During Wednesday morning’s episode of the MSNBC talk show, Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski ran down a laundry list of actions by the Trump kids that they argued deserved just as much criticism.
After a five-year investigation into his actions — so, yes, beginning during the Trump administration — Hunter Biden will plead guilty to tax evasion and will avoid being charged for unlawful purchase of a firearm. He also won’t face any jail time for his actions. You can read more in-depth about it here, but Republicans aren’t happy, saying Hunter Biden got nothing more than “a slap on the wrist” because he’s the president’s son.

“Morning Joe” host Joe Scarborough was outraged on Friday morning, this time by the response from some Republicans to Donald Trump’s second indictment. According to the MSNBC host, those responses are nothing but “sleazy” sentiments that demonstrate an “absolute contempt for the United States of America.”
The second indictment officially came down on Thursday, as part of Jack Smith’s ongoing investigation into the mishandling of classified documents that were eventually seized from Mar-a-Lago. It’s unknown exactly what charges Trump faces next, but Scarborough noted on Friday morning that he believes Trump will have to plea out to avoid jail time.
Of course, some prominent Republicans — from House Speaker Kevin McCarthy to Steve Scalise to Elise Stefanik — have thrown their support behind the twice-impeached former president once again, instead attacking Biden and saying that he has “weaponized” his Department of Justice to attack his own political opponents.

House Speaker Kevin McCarthy and President Joe Biden reportedly reached bipartisan agreement on a new debt ceiling bill this week, but Republicans apparently aren’t too pleased with it – something the “Morning Joe” hosts called out as “hypocrisy squared” on Wednesday morning.
The new bill, which is set to face a vote on Wednesday, needs to pass the Democrat-controlled Senate before the June 5 deadline set by the Treasury Department, or the country risks default. On Tuesday though, the Freedom Caucus minced no words about their feelings on the bill, saying “we will do everything in our power to stop it and end it now.”
In discussing that opposition on Wednesday morning, host Joe Scarborough was just kind of flabbergasted, considering how Republicans handled the debt crisis while Trump was in office.

Friday’s episode of “Morning Joe” took a somber turn thanks to a snippet of Joe Scarborough’s upcoming interview with Senator John Fetterman. Holding back tears, Fetterman opened up about his recent struggles with depression and emphasized that this was not a partisan issue.

While Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has drawn his battle lines with Disney World and Disney CEO Bob Iger over the last year, the “Morning Joe” team has largely been left scratching their heads over what kind of political sense picking that fight makes. Host Joe Scarborough, in short, doesn’t think DeSantis stands a chance: “He’s taking on Mickey Mouse, but now Mickey Mouse has brass knuckles because he’s taking on Bob Iger,” he said.
The dispute between Disney and DeSantis began when the company took a public stance against the divisive governor’s so-called “Don’t Say Gay” bill in spring 2022. That’s when DeSantis decided to openly wage a campaign against Disney, which climaxed earlier this year with the dissolution of the park’s Reedy Creek Improvement District, a governmental body established in the 1960s that oversaw the construction of roads and other infrastructure in the sprawling compound,...

It’s not often that a political commentator is so outraged by the news that they’re unable to actually report it, but that’s exactly what happened to Joe Scarborough on “Morning Joe” Wednesday while discussing Fox News’ settlement with Dominion Voting Systems. The MSNBC host became so enraged that he didn’t even allow his co-host Mika Brzezinski to finish reading Fox’s official statement.
“We are pleased to have reached a settlement of our dispute with Dominion Voting Systems. We acknowledge the court’s rulings finding certain claims about Dominion to be false,” Brzezinski read.
That was about all Brzezinski got through before Scarborough cut her off around the sentence about Fox News’ “commitment to the highest journalistic standards.”
“I don’t even wanna hear this… Go gaslight somebody else!” he said, moving on to bring two additional panelists into the conversation.

“Morning Joe” reported Monday that several top Republican Party donors are backing away from Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’ proposed 2024 presidential bid following his hard-line banning of abortions in his state after six weeks.
Speaking with co-host Joe Scarborough, political commentator and The Bulwark editor-in-chief Charlie Sykes said the continued culture wars happening within the GOP is a case of “the normies” of the party continuing to “empower the crazies.”
The segment began with co-host Mika Brzezinski citing a new Financial Times story that quotes one key Republican donor on DeSantis, saying, “Because of his stance on abortion and book banning, myself and a bunch of friends are holding our powder dry.”

New polling from ABC News and Ipsos shows former president Donald Trump’s favorability ratings collapsing in the aftermath of his April 4 arraignment and indictment the week prior.
Breaking down the numbers, which saw a four-point dip to 25% favorability, “Morning Joe” co-host Mika Brzezinski said Tuesday that Trump is “dropping like a rock,” and Willie Geist said the number is so low that he’s “starting to dip into being a fringe political candidate.”
“If his legal issues don’t take him off the ballot, maybe his poll numbers will,” Brzezinski quipped on her daily MSNBC program. “A new survey shows Trump is losing support rapidly, dropping like a rock.”
Co-host Joe Scarborough jumped in before handing it over to Geist, adding that Trump’s “favorability ratings have never been great,” and while it’s been easy to “sit here and talk about all the things that he’s doing...

While the “Morning Joe” team has traditionally never strayed from being hyper critical of former president Donald Trump, they weren’t quite getting out the champagne and celebrating his indictment on Friday.
Perhaps surprisingly, hosts Mika Brzezinski and Joe Scarborough actually took a somber tone, emphasizing the “history of this moment,” its “potential consequences” and above all, how “perilous” today’s political climate feels.
“I think the history of this moment is the big story today. If there were viewers or people coming right now expecting to see hysteria or glee, there’s nothing to report on,” Brzezinski said at the of the segment. As for news media colleagues – especially ones on the other side of the aisle – who are raging against Trump’s indictment, she called their reports “completely baseless.”

“Morning Joe” co-host Joe Scarborough didn’t hold back Tuesday morning in response to Monday’s fatal school shooting in Nashville, and he knew just where to lay his blame.
“This is a sickness,” he said – one that the people with the power to cure it inexplicably refuse to.
“We have losers in Washington, D.C. – losers who would be fired from any other job if they said, ‘Yeah, boss, we’ve got something that’s killing people and we can’t do anything about it,'” Scarborough continued, taking aim at the elected officials in the nation’s capitol.
Monday’s shooting at the Covenant School, a private Christian school in Nashville, marked the 129th mass shooting in the U.S. so far this year. The shooter, identified as 28-year-old Audrey Hale, was shot and killed by responding police. She was armed with two assault-style rifles and a handgun,...
