One of the most wildly anticipated films of the summer hits theaters and on HBO Max on August 6, director James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad.
Gunn, along with actors Margot Robbie and John Cena, joined Jimmy Kimmel’s guest host Anthony Anderson about their new movie and Cena “stealing” his costume. Gunn also talked about working with Sylvester Stallone, why he put “Ratcatcher” in the movie, the craziest stunts that he had Robbie and Cena do on set, Anderson’s former co-worker Steve Agee playing the Shark in a motion capture suit for the film, and the upcoming Peacemaker show on HBO Max.
Gunn says of his latest film, “I wanted to do the ultimate all-time comic book movie!”

Though speculation has been high about James Gunn’s “The Suicide Squad” and John Cena’s mystery role in the movie, the wrestler-turned-actor was tight-lipped about any details when he appeared on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” on Wednesday.
Jimmy Kimmel asked Cena whether he was playing the character Peacemaker in the film, a rumor that’s been circulating among fan sites. Or if it’s a typo, Kimmel also suggested he could be playing “Pacemaker.”
“I can’t confirm or deny anything about ‘Suicide Squad.’ I can tell you that I’m right in the middle of filming it. The DC people are always watching,” Cena said. “I do believe the Internet has pronounced me dead on seven or eight occasions. Not everything you see is true.”

The Batman opens June 25, 2021 while The Suicide Squad is set for an August 6, 2021 date. The directors weren’t there to share any footage as they are still filming. However they did send video messages.
In a message from Reeves, he said he was sorry he couldn’t be there, but guaranteed that The Batman will be at Ccxp in 2020. Gunn also sent a message alongside The Suicide Squad actor Alice Braga — who happens to be Brazilian. They gave “beijos” to the crowd and also said they wish they could be there. When Disney initially fired James Gunn from directing Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, Warner Bros. swooped in to grab him. Not long after the news of Gunn’s firing, it was announced the filmmaker would be writing and directing The Suicide Squad for DC.
Well, when WB approached Gunn, they apparently offered him whatever he wanted to do, and he’s the one that chose to take on Suicide Squad. During a Q&a on an Instagram Story feed, Gunn was asked if he was offered another movie along with The Suicide Squad, and this was his response:
"I was basically offered whatever I wanted. I most wanted to do Squad."
It seems like it was a good choice for him too! In response to another question regarding what the most challenging movie he’s worked on was, the director said that The Suicide Squad is the...

While director James Gunn has revealed the full cast of The Suicide Squad, he didn’t reveal the characters that all the new actors who are joining the film are playing. The film has a great cast, and one actor a lot of fans are excited about seeing in the movie is Nathan Fillion.
Well, a couple of new reports have surfaced that might reveal who the actor is playing. According to The Weekly Podcast and That Hashtag Show scooper Charles Murphy, Fillion will play Arm-Fall-Off-Boy! He is one of the most ridiculous characters in DC comics and has the hilarious ability to detach his own limbs, which he can then use as blunt weapons.
If this is true, it’s a seriously awesome character for Fillion to take on, and I can’t wait to see how this character is handled in the movie!
It’s also rumored that Sean Gunn will play Weasel,...
