Terminator 6 will shoot next year, and Arnold Schwarzenegger confirms that he'll be part of it...
Paramount's plan for this summer's Terminator: Genisys is for it to springboard a new trilogy of films in the series. To be fair, that was the plan too with Terminator: Salvation, but there does seem to be a little more confidence this time around.
Paramount's certainly been open about its plans in that regard, with Terminator: Genisys 2 - which it won't be called - already set for May 19th 2017. And in a surprise to very few people on the planet indeed, Arnold Schwarzenegger has revealed that he'll be back - arf - for that one as well. He confirmed his reappearance to The Arnold Fans, as well as the fact that he'll be filming what'll be Terminator 6 next year.
Most of the key cast for Terminator: Genisys are believed to be on three picture deals.

Paramount Pictures has released a new photo from director Alan Taylor's Terminator: Genisys. It gives us a good look at a battle ready T-800. These things have always looked insanely menacing, and I'm sure the red glowing eyes are a big reason for that. I really liked what I saw in the first trailer for this movie, and I'm looking forward to seeing how this new story plays out, and how it will actually connect with the first two original films.
The beginning of Terminator: Genisys, the first of three planned films that Paramount hopes will relaunch the beloved sci-fi franchise, is set in 2029, when the Future War is raging and a group of human rebels has the evil artificial-intelligence system Skynet on the ropes. John Connor (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes’ Jason Clarke) is the leader of the resistance, and Kyle Reese (Divergent‘s...

"I've been waiting for you."
The first full trailer for Terminator: Genisys has been released, and overall I think it looks awesome. There are a couple parts where I had "Oh, brother" moments, like when they once again reused the line, "Come with me if you want to live." I know they want to harken back to previous films when they do stuff like that, but no one will ever deliver it as well as Arnold Schwarzenegger did. It is fun seeing these characters back in action though, and I love that we have another liquid metal Terminator in the mix. The CG version of Arnold looked a lot better than what we saw in Terminator: Salvation. Then there's Emilia Clarke, who portrays Sarah Connor as a freakin' badass, which is great to see. I'm way excited for the movie, and I think it looks incredibly promising. It definitely...

Will Terminator: Genisys just be a series of homages to the first two Terminator filmsc Will it be a safe, down-the-middle effort a la Terminator: Rise of the Machinesc Or will it be akin to the sloppy mess that was Terminator Salvationc Well, today you get your first chance to attempt to answer that question as the first Terminator: Genisys trailer is directly below for you to judge and scrutinize. Directed by Alan Taylor (Thor: The Dark World) the film stars Arnold Schwarzenegger back as an older Terminator, joined by Jason Clarke as John Connor, Emilia Clarke as Sarah Connor, Jai Courtney as Kyle Reese, J.K. A brief 15-second tease of Terminator: Genisys has been released to prepare fans for the trailer, which will be released tomorrow. This gives us our first look at footage from the film, and it features some pretty exciting stuff! I'm looking forward to seeing more! I do have to say that the last shot of Schwarzenegger looking at his robotic arm seems a bit off.
The movie stars Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jason Clarke, Emilia Clarke, Jai Courtney, J.K. Simmons, Dayo Okeniyi, Byung Hun Lee, and Matt Smith. Here's the synopsis:
Terminator: Genisys starts in 2029, when the Future War is raging and a group of human rebels has the evil artificial-intelligence system Skynet on the ropes. John Connor (Clarke) is the leader of the resistance, and Kyle Reese (Courtney) is his loyal soldier, raised in the ruins of post apocalyptic California. “I’ll be back.” Arnold Schwarzenegger’s cyborg warrior will make good on that promise next summer when Paramount unleashes Terminator: Genisys to theaters. New takes on familiar characters like Sarah Connor and Kyle Reese will be featured in the film, with Arnold once again playing a durable T-800. Ahead of the movie’s trailer debut this Thursday, a new face-dissolving motion poster has been released.
Released on TerminatorMovie.com, the motion poster (see below) features a Terminator endoskeleton’s head dissolving into what could be the sands of time. Stay tuned to Daily Dead for the release of the first Terminator: Genisys trailer on Thursday. In the meantime, we have the official plot details of the new Terminator film from the cover story that appeared in an earlier issue of EW:
“Sarah Connor isn’t the innocent she was when Linda Hamilton first sported feathered hair and acid-washed jeans in the role.

Paramount Pictures has released a motion poster for the upcoming Alan Taylor-directed film Terminator: Genisys. You can check out the poster below. The studio has also confirmed that the first trailer for the highly anticipated film will debut this Thursday! So make sure to check back here, because we'll have it up for you to watch as soon as it hits. I'm really excited to get a look at the first footage from this movie.
The movie is going to play with the continuity of the whole Terminator franchise. Apparently they've even recreated scenes from the first two films to play into this new film's timeline. Sarah Connor was raised by Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Terminator in the story, and it will also feature a man/machine hybrid as the main villain, which has been described by the filmmakers as a “visual game changer.”

Matt Smith's role in Terminator Genisys is being kept under wraps. But we've got a theory...
This article contains revealed spoilers for Terminator Genisys. The rest is pure speculation on our part.
Paramount began to take the wraps off its reboot of the Terminator series, Terminator Genisys, last week. It was courtesy of an Entertainment Weekly article and cover that revealed what, at first glance, look like weighty spoilers for the film. If you missed them, you can find them here. Do be warned, we are going to have to discuss them further down, though.
In spite of the reveal, there's still a sizeable question that remains over the film, and that's involving the role of one-time Doctor Who star Matt Smith. He's clearly a key member of the cast - we've certainly been told so - but just who or what he is remains under wraps. In fact,...

A first look at Terminator Genisys has finally arrived.
In September, Paramount Pictures confirmed the release dates for all three films in the new trilogy, beginning with the premiere of Terminator Genisys on July 1, 2015. The second new Terminator film will be released on May 19, 2017, and the trilogy will conclude in the third film, to be released on June 29, 2018.

If there was ever a franchise that needed saving, it’s Terminator. Then again, if we all pretend that it ended with T2 like it should have it kind of makes you happy for a moment doesn’t it? The new issue of EW looks at how Terminator: Genisys and how it’s trying to “save a billion-dollar franchise.” We have new plot details that are confusing to say the least and two magazine covers.
Terminator: Genisys isn’t a sequel or a reboot, but more of a “reset” for the franchise says star Jai Courtney. The movie takes place in 2029, but also has Kyle Reese (Courtney) going to 1984.
Sarah Connor isn’t the innocent she was when Linda Hamilton first sported feathered hair and acid-washed jeans in the role. Nor is she Hamilton’s steely zero body-fat warrior in 1991’s T2. Rather, the mother of humanity’s messiah was...

Ever since it was announced that Arnold Schwarzenegger will return for "Terminator Genisys," he's been saying that he'll be able to play the Terminator again because the robot's skin actually ages. Now comes word that the idea behind this came from James Cameron, who spoke about the reboot/sequel while celebrating the franchise's 30th anniversary. "I pointed out that the outer covering [of the Terminator] was actually not synthetic, that it was organic and therefore could age," he explained. "You could theoretically have a Terminator that was sent back in time, missed his target, and ended up just kind of living on in society. Because he is a learning computer and has a brain as a central processor, he could actually become more human as he went along without getting discovered." "Terminator Genisys" co-stars Jason Clarke, Emilia Clarke, Jai Courtney, Jk Simmons, Dayo Okeniyi, Byung Hun Lee and Matt Smith. It's directed by...

Hollywood sure does love their PG-13 movies, and it looks like the latest addition to the Terminator franchise is going that route as well. McG's Terminator: Salvation was PG-13, but that sure didn't help make it a better movie. Terminator: Genisys is the start of a whole new trilogy for Paramount Pictures, and I was really hoping they would capture the spirit of the original film and take the R-rated road.
The actor who plays Kyle Reese in the film, Jai Courtney, recently talked about the movie in an interview with The Huffington Post.
"What I can say is that we start in a place we're familiar with from the early films and then, you know, circumstances change. It somewhat shifts the course of events from that point. It's not necessarily a sequel or a reboot. I don't even know how you brand it correctly. We're not remaking one...

“I’ll be back.” That famous line from Arnold Schwarzenegger’s cyborg warrior applies not just to the Terminator character, but also to the film franchise itself. We knew that the sci-fi action series would be rebooted with the Schwarzenegger-starring Terminator: Genisys, and now release dates have been set for two additional Terminator movies from Paramount.
According to Box Office Mojo, Terminator 2 is due out on May 19th, 2017, and Terminator 3 is slated for release on June 29th, 2018. The plan is for both reboot sequels to film back-to-back. We've been hearing that the rights to the "Terminator" franchise will revert back to James Cameron in 2019. The plan has always been to make at least three more installments before that happens, but because things were delayed for so long, the plan changed to two films. Paramount Pictures will release the first new film, "Terminator Genisys," on July 1st, 2015 and studio just announced that a sequel will follow on May 19th, 2017. But in a surprise move, it turns out that Paramount will squeeze in a third film on June 29th, 2018. Details are still limited, but it's believed that the last two installments will be shot back-to-back. "Terminator Genisys" is directed by Alan Taylor (Thor: The Dark World) and stars Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jason Clarke, Emilia Clarke, Jai Courtney, J.K. Simmons, Dayo Okeniyi, Byung Hun Lee and Matt Smith.

Ten months from now we'll know whether or not we think Terminator: Genisys merits a sequel, but Paramount is apparently feeling confident we will as they've already penciled in release dates for two of them in quick succession.
Shooting wrapped just a short while ago on Terminator: Genisys, but obviously the powers-that-be are liking what they're seeing as the film comes together since both Terminator 2 and Terminator 3 (titles sure to change) have popped up on Box Office Mojo with release dates of May 19, 2017, and June 29, 2018, respectively.

Paramount Pictures have announced two more sequels in Terminator franchise THR reports; call them the sixth and seventh films in the series if you want but they’re being referred to as Terminator 2 and Terminator 3. Terminator: Genisys hits in just under a year and they’re already planning on keeping the machine going.
Here’s the current release date schedule:
Terminator: Genisys – July 1, 2015
Terminator 2 – May 19, 2017
Terminator 3 – June 29, 2018
The plan is for the two sequels to film back to back, that is if Genisys makes a lot of money which it probably will. Alan Taylor directs Arnold Schwarzenegger, Emilia Clarke (Game of Thrones), Jai Courtney (A Good Day to Die Hard), Jason Clarke (Zero Dark Thirty), Matt Smith (Doctor Who), J.K. Simmons (Juno), Dayo Okeniyi (The Spectacular Now) and Byung Hun Lee (I Saw The Devil) in Terminator: Genisys July 1, 2015.

The fifth Terminator movie has officially wrapped production, and Arnold Schwarzenegger released a photo officially announcing the title of the film, Terminator Genisys. I can’t wait to see our finished project and I know we’ll remind the fans why they fell in love with the Terminator. On July 1, 2015, I’ll be back.

It seems someone was caught texting with director Alan Taylor (Thor: The Dark World) after a few too many drinks and autocorrect went wild resulting in Terminator 5 not being titled Terminator: Genesis as was previous speculated, but instead Terminator Genisys. Along with that we have an Instagram picture featuring star Arnold Schwarzenegger as the film has official wrapped production. Schwarzenegger returns as an older Terminator and he's joined by Jason Clarke as John Connor, Emilia Clarke as Sarah Connor, Jai Courtney as Kyle Reese, J.K. Simmons, Dayo Okeniyi, Byung Hun Lee and Matt Smith as a new character said to have a strong connection to John Connor. Obviously the title will have something to do with some computer program or company within the film as you can see the logo on the screen in front of Schwarzenegger in the photo below, but that didn't stop me from having a little fun with it.

Some photos from the set of Terminator: Genesis have surfaced, and they give us our first look at Arnold Schwarznegger back in action as the badass cyborg. They also feature Emilia Clarke as Sarah Connor, Jason Clarke as John Connor, and Jai Courtney as Kyle Reese. I'm sorry that I can't post the photos here, but I don't want to get sued. If you want to see the photo though all you need to do is click here for photos of all the characters mentioned above in the middle of shooting a scene. Then click here and here to see close-up shots of the Terminator himself looking a little beat up.
James Cameron recently talked about the film, and how he helped out a little in developing the story. The film is being directed by Alan Taylor and also stars J.K. Simmons, Dayo Okeniyi, Byung Hun Lee, and Matt Smith.

If you're a fan of the Terminator franchise, there's of course nobody whose involvement in any and all sequels you'd want more than James Cameron, who wrote and directed both the original film and its sequel.
Many fans cite Cameron's lack of involvement as being the reason subsequent sequels weren't so great, and if you're among those fans, you'll be happy to know that Cameron's fingers were indeed in the proverbial cookie jar for the latest installment, Terminator: Geneis.
Well, sort of.
Per Slash Film, Cameron was on hand at the recent Hero Complex Film Festival, revealing that while he won't receive any credit for contributions made to the long-awaited fifth installment, he is nevertheless "loosely attached" to the production, contributing a crucial story element to the film.

You can rest easy, three videos from the set of Terminator: Genesis (aka Terminator 5) have appeared on YouTube, confirming the film from director Alan Taylor (Thor: The Dark World) will feature explosions in a post-apocalyptic setting. In all seriousness, the videos look like they could be from McG's Terminator Salvation as much as they could be from any of the Terminator films, which only makes me wonder what will make this one different from any of the othersc Back again is Arnold Schwarzenegger whose appearance as an older Terminator has already been speculated upon and discussed as he's joined by Jason Clarke as John Connor,Emilia Clarke as Sarah Connor, Jai Courtney as Kyle Reese, J.K. Simmons, Dayo Okeniyi, Byung Hun Lee and Matt Smith as a new character said to have a strong connection to John Connor. The film is set for a July 1, 2015 release. yt id...

It’s been a week full of Important Casting News, and it’s not over just yet. Matt Smith, he of Doctor Who fame, has just joined the team of the upcoming Terminator reboot, Terminator: Genesis, taking a role that doesn’t have much information behind it besides “a strong connection to John Connor,” according to the press release from Paramount. He’ll be joining a varied and talented cast that includes the Og Terminator himself Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jason Clarke (John Connor), Emilia Clarke (Sarah Connor), Jai Courtney (Kyle Reese), J.K. Simmons, Dayo Okeniyi (Danny Dyson) and Byung Hun Lee. Terminator: Genesis...

It's interesting when you can tell from a press release that the studio is being very careful about what they say. "[Matt] Smith will play a new character with a strong connection to John Connor," is how they phrased it in the announcement today, "alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jason Clarke, Emilia Clarke, Jai Courtney, J.K. Simmons, Dayo Okeniyi, and Byung Hun Lee." To be fair, they're being very careful about everything involving this film and the cast. They've revealed some basic information. We know that Emilia Clarke is Sarah Connor. We know that Jason Clarke is John Connor. We know that Jai Courtney is Kyle Reese. And we know that Dayo Okeniyi is playing Danny Dyson, the son of Miles Dyson, the man credited with creating Skynet in "Terminator 2: Judgment Day". But beyond that, it seems like people are still trying to make sense of what the film is and when it takes place.

To begin, Paramount has announced "Doctor Who" star Matt Smith has joined the cast of their Terminator reboot, aka Terminator: Genesis, playing a new character with a strong connection to John Connor (Jason Clarke), alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger, Emilia Clarke as Sarah Connor, Jai Courtney as Kyle Reese, J.K. Simmons, Dayo Okeniyi and Byung Hun Lee. Additionally, stuntman Aaron V. Williamson (Captain America: The Winter Soldier) has been cast as a T-800 Terminator, perhaps a younger version of Schwarzenegger's character as Schwarzenegger told MTV "Terminatordeals a lot with time travel, so there will be a younger T-800, and then what that model does later on when it gets reprogrammed, and who gets ahold of him." Interestingly enough, that might feed into a new rumor coming from HitFix, reporting on a draft of the screenplay they read and how the new film may be incorporating an aged Schwarzenegger into the role of the Terminator.

Terminator: Genesis has been cultivating a stable of geek friendly actors who are no strangers to big-ticket blockbusters. Jai Courtney, Emilia Clarke, and Jason Clarke (to name a few) were all brought on with increasing levels of excitement. But now we.ve learned that the biggest catch in the geek universe has been landed. Matt Smith, as of today, is officially on board. Not just for Genesis, but for presumably the whole reported trilogy. An official press release was issued today mentioning that: "Smith will play a new character with a strong connection to John Connor, alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jason Clarke, Emilia Clarke, Jai Courtney, J.K. Simmons, Dayo Okeniyi and Byung Hun Lee." Momentarily sidelining speculation as to just who the good Doctor will be playing, Deadline's Mike Fleming had a little more to say about this new, top secret role: "I.m told they are casting Matt Smith, ...

We already know that Skydance Productions has begun filming on the new Terminator reboot from Alan Taylor and while we've had some casting announced, we knew it wasn't done yet. Today, they've revealed that former Doctor Who Matt Smith has joined the cast in an undisclosed, but important role!
As I said, we still don't know who he'll be playing, but it's supposed to be someone close to John Connor that could potentially have an affect on the future of the franchise as well. Matt Smith fans have been anxious to see what the actor would do next after his turn as the Doctor wrapped up, and now I guess he's moving on to another major Sci-Fi series. From the Press release:

Last month, cameras began rolling on Paramount and Skydance's pricey "Terminator" reboot (supposedly entitled "Terminator: Genesis," although this has yet to be confirmed), with a cast in place consisting of Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jason Clarke, Emilia Clarke (no relation), Jai Courtney, J.K. Simmons, and Byung Hun Lee. But today the studio announced a major new cast member in the form of "Doctor Who" star Matt Smith, who will play a mysterious and unspecified role in the movie.
While American audiences are most likely unfamiliar with Smith's work, he's garnered a major cult following thanks to his role on "Doctor Who" during the 2011-2013 seasons (and, admittedly, he is pretty dreamy). His next big film role comes in the form of the Cannes-ready Ryan Gosling directorial effort "Lost River," where he stars alongside Christina Hendricks, Saoirse Ronan and Gosling's lady Eva Mendes, out later this fall.
Concrete plot details of the new "Terminator" movie remain damnably obscured,...

The officlal start of production press release for the new Terminator movie lands. But has its name changed?
There may be something to this, there may be not. But it looks as if Paramount may yet be tinkering with the name of the now-filming new Terminator film.
For some time, the film has been known as Terminator: Genesis, but the official start of production press release has now been issued by Skydance and Paramount, and the title of the film is simply Terminator on it.
Of course, it's possible to read too much into that, but the film is now directly referred to as the Terminator reboot. Given the film's apparent ties to Terminator 2, it sounds more like a belated sequel to us at the moment.
Here's the official press release anyway. More on the film as we hear it...
