Autobots, assemble: Paramount has released a trailer for “Transformers One,” the animated prequel film led by the voices of Chris Hemsworth, Brian Tyree Henry and Scarlett Johansson.
Hemsworth voices young Optimus Prime, when he was just known as Orion Pax. Henry is D-16, before he became Optimus’ rival Megatron. The trailer shows the two starting out as simple worker bots, unable to transform into anything. But soon they gain the ability to change into vehicles and gain weapons, as a battle against a mysterious, plant-like villain unfolds on the Transformers’ home planet of Cybertron.
Other cast members include Johansson as Elita, Keegan-Michael Key as Bumblebee, Jon Hamm as Sentinel Prime and Laurence Fishburne as Alpha Trion. Hemsworth and Henry introduced a first look at the prequel film April 11 at CinemaCon.

“You’ve become part of a bigger universe. You just don’t know it yet. “While speaking with Syfy Wire, producer Bradley J. Fischer revealed that The Last Voyage of the Demeter almost ended with a cameo from Professor Abraham Van Helsing.
“We went through a lot of different approaches to the story, but nothing that was wildly different than the movie that we ended up with,” Fischer explained. “We actually had one ending for quite a while. The scene in the tavern was Clemens [Corey Hawkins] being approached by a strange, shadowy dude, who starts talking to him, seems to have some knowledge of the experiences that he went through, and introduces himself as Van Helsing. Then we kind of left it there.“

The legend of Dracula is explored from a new angle with The Last Voyage of the Demeter, based on “The Captain’s Log,” the seventh chapter in Bram Stoker’s influential novel.
The film’s home video release includes an audio commentary with director André Øvredal and producer Bradley J. Fischer, among other special features.
Here are eight things I learned from the Last Voyage of the Demeter commentary:
1. The Last Voyage of the Demeter spent 21 years in development.
Phoenix Pictures acquired the rights to the film, originally titled Demeter, over two decades before the movie made its way to the screen.
“It’s been a solid 21 years since my producing partners, Mike Medavoy, Arnie Messer, and I, optioned the screenplay that we adapted into this film,” Fischer explains at the beginning of the commentary.
“And I’ve been part of it for something like three years, I think,” adds Øvredal.

Movie-goers rejected Dracula not just once but twice this uear. Universal released two well-reviewed Dracula projects – the horror comedy Renfield and the more serious The Last Voyage of the Demeter – and both of them tanked at the box office. Renfield couldn’t even crack the $27 million mark at the global box office, and Demeter barely made it over the $20 million mark. Trying to recoup some of their losses, Universal gave The Last Voyage of the Demeter a VOD release just two and a half weeks after it reached theatres. Now it has been announced that the film will be receiving a digital, Blu-ray, and DVD release on October 17th – and it’s coming to home video with deleted scenes and an alternate opening.

The "Transformers" movies took a pretty healthy break after the release of 2018's "Bumblebee," even if that wasn't originally the plan that Paramount Pictures had in mind. Regardless, thanks to the pandemic, that's exactly what happened. But with the release of "Transformers: Rise of the Beasts" in 2023, the franchise is back with much more to come. Not only are we poised for more live-action movies but we're also getting a feature-length, theatrically-released animated film in the form of "Transformers One."
While the robots in disguise started out as toys, it was in no small part thanks to the '80s animated series, as well as 1986's "Transformers: The Movie" that helped make the Autobots and Decepticons staples of pop culture. So bringing it back around to animation feels like a full-circle moment, and one that may well excite fans who checked out during Michael Bay's later live-action entries. So...

Paramount has pushed back the release date for Transformers One, the newest animated feature in the Transformers franchise that was unveiled at CinemaCon in April. The origin story from director Josh Cooley, previously set to open on July 19, 2024, will now bow nationwide on September 13, 2024.
While the sole competitor on its new date is an untitled film from Uni/Blumhouse, the project hits theaters shortly after the September 6th debut of Warner Bros’ Beetlejuice 2, Disney’s Blade and another unknown Disney pic. It had previously been set to contend with Universal’s Twisters.
Hailing from Paramount Animation, Hasbro and eOne, Transformers One tells the story of how a young Optimus Prime (Chris Hemsworth) and Megatron (Brian Tyree Henry) went from being brothers-in-arms to sworn enemies. Also starring are Scarlett Johansson, Keegan-Michael Key, Jon Hamm and Laurence Fishburne, who are respectively voicing Elita, Bumblebee, Sentinel Prime and Alpha Trion.

The Robots in Disguise return to theaters with a new mission the weekend of June 9, and analysts are already crunching numbers for the film’s summertime debut. According to Hollywood trend watchers and number hounds, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts could make $68M to $70M in its opening weekend in the U.S. and Canada.
That number is impressive after 2018’s Bumblebee opened to $21.6M in the domestic market, while Transformers: The Last Knight did $44.6M over a $68.4M Wednesday through Sunday window. If Transformers: Rise of the Beasts performs as expected, the action-packed installment inspired by a nostalgic property will be another win for the recovering box office. For those keeping track, Fast X is racing toward a $60M debut, with Disney’s live-action version of The Little Mermaid swimming toward $110M. Elsewhere, Spider-Man: Acorss the Spider-Verse could web up $80M, setting the summer box office on fire.

Six years ago, we heard that Ant-Man co-writers Andrew Barrer and Gabriel Ferrari had joined a writers room that was put together to develop an animated Transformers project called Transformers One, which “would take place on the Autobots and Decepticon’s home planet of Cybertron.” Three years ago, Toy Story 4 director Josh Cooley signed on to take the helm of the film. After delaying its initial release, Paramount Pictures announced that the live-action “Clifford the Big Red Dog” will open both in theaters and on Paramount Plus on Nov. 10.

Paramount Pictures’ Mark Wahlberg-fronted sci-fi thriller “Infinite” will land on streaming service Paramount Plus in key international markets.
The film, directed by Antoine Fuqua, will debut on the service in Canada, Latin America, the Nordics and Australia on Aug. 11. Currently, “Infinite” is the most-watched movie to date on the U.S. platform, said ViacomCBS.
Starring Mark Wahlberg, “Infinite” delves into the concept of reincarnation through characters who must use memories and skills from past lives to ensure the future. Alongside Wahlberg, the movie stars Chiwetel Ejiofor, Sophie Cookson, Jason Mantzoukas, Rupert Friend, Liz Carr, Toby Jones and Dylan O’Brien.
Originally set to premiere theatrically in August, Paramount announced earlier in May that “Infinite” would skip the big screen and debut directly on its nascent streaming service. The move was made in a bid to boost subscribers and build a serious rival to Netflix, Disney Plus and HBO Max.

Mark Wahlberg can do it all in his new movie “Infinite,” and he’s had centuries of practice.
Wahlberg in his new film plays a man who begins to see visions of places he’s never been or of people he’s never met, only to realize these visions are memories of his past lives. He’s part of a secret group called “Infinites” who retain their memories and abilities as they’re reincarnated, only Wahlberg’s memory has been reset, but he can still wield a mean sword or pack a punch like no one else. He now has to fight to save humanity and the world from an old rival Infinite who seeks to end all life and stop the endless cycle of reincarnation.

“Infinite,” a sci-fi thriller starring Mark Wahlberg and directed by Antoine Fuqua, will arrive on Paramount Plus in time for summer. The film is scheduled to release on June 6.
Originally set to premiere theatrically in August, Paramount announced earlier in May that “Infinite” would skip the big screen and debut directly on its budding streaming service. The move was made in a bid to boost subscribers and fashion a serious rival to Netflix, Disney Plus and HBO Max. The service, which was rebranded and relaunched in March, currently has 36 million global paid streaming users.
Based on the 2009 novel “The Reincarnationist Papers,” “Infinite” centers on Evan McCauley (Wahlberg), who is haunted by memories of skills he has never learned and places he has never visited. After encountering a secret group that call themselves “Infinites,” he discovers that his memories are real — but they are from multiple past lives. As he’s invited into their world,...

Amazon has released the first official trailer for sci-fi blockbuster “The Tomorrow War,” debuting on July 2 and starring Chris Pratt as Dan Forester, a high school teacher (and military vet) who is recruited by a group of time travelers to fight a war 30 years in the future.
“I was trying to save my daughter,” a war-hardened Pratt says in the trailer. “If I’ve gotta save the world to save her, then I’m gonna do it.”
In the movie, an alien species threatens life on Earth, and the only hope for survival is for soldiers and civilians from the present to travel to the year 2051 and help save the planet. Dan teams up with his estranged father, played by J.K. Simmons, and a brilliant scientist, portrayed by Yvonne Strahovski, to rewrite the fate of mankind.
In the trailer, soldiers from the future interrupt a televised soccer match to recruit present-day fighters.

Amazon has released the first official trailer for “The Tomorrow War,” its showy $200 million action tentpole starring Chris Pratt as an ex-military man drafted to travel in time in order to save his daughter (and humanity) from a future alien attack. Originally set for a theatrical release by Paramount Pictures, the movie was acquired by Amazon Studios in a deal worth a reported $200 million due to the pandemic. Now with theaters opening back up, “The Tomorrow War” producers may be kicking themselves that it won’t be seen on the big screen when it premieres exclusively on Prime Video this July.
Directed by frequent Phil Lord and Chris Miller collaborator Chris McKay, the apocalyptic alien drama appears to lean hard into the action side of things with a few brief moments of comedic relief, a slight departure from Lord and Miller’s signature action-comedy style.
