After Robin Hood: Prince Of Thieves - and that song! - hit big, the song work of Bryan Adams was in high demand at the movies...
Last month, this site ran an article about the power of feel good pop music to lighten our mood. As soon as I read it I rushed home and put on some Bryan Adams. This wasn’t just a sudden whim. I’ve been a huge fan of his ever since 'that bloke who sings about the best days of his life' released 'that song from that film'.

Everything I Do (I Do It For You) was massive hit in 1991. It reigned over the pop charts for what felt like forever and became a fashionable choice for recessional music and first dances at weddings,...

Hollywood based Matriarch Multimedia Group is making headlines for their recent deals in its film and television divisions and now the signing of an International superstar positions the company to become a major player in the industry.
Aadesh Shrivastava is a popular Indian music director and he now joins the Matriarch family. One of the most popular musical figures in his native India, Aadesh’s first big break came with the 1993 film Kanyadaan. His greatest achievement was that he had Lata Mangeshkar, (one of the most popular playback singers in the world) to sing for his very first song.
Although he has experienced success in sporadic burst, he has composed music for more than 100 Hindi films. His success is not limited to India, on the international front Shrivastava has collaborated with artists such as Akon, Julia Fordham and Wyclef Jean. Together with Akon, he has launched an India-wide talent search on the website hitlab.

HollywoodNews.com: Oh, Madonna. She’s quite the lyricist. Her new song is called “I F—ed Up.” You can listen to it and most of her new album, called “Mdna” on her You Tube channel and on Facebook. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PkgEJPSWRZY&feature=player_embedded#!. The album comes out a week from Tuesday, and it’s the usual hodgepodge of throwaway dance songs and a couple of ballads that have been Auto-tuned within an inch of their lives. Madonna is almost 54 and she sings, basically, about nothing. There’s no one to compare her to, really; she is unto herself. You can’t compare her to the great female singer songwriters like Carly, Carole, and Joni. She’s not a great singer like Judy Collins, Phoebe Snow, or Gladys Knight. She’s not an icon like Janis Joplin, Grace Slick, or Aretha Franklin.

Today is my last day of classes and, accordingly, I seem to be sick. Not like, sniffly sneezy sick, but more achy, overly tired but having weird dreams sick which tends to be how I manifest having the flu. Though it's hard for me to say because I haven't had the flu since I was about nine and I can't really remember it since I ran a scary fever and slept for about 36 hours. If it were about a week later I'd be perfectly fine to spend most of my time in bed with a pile of books, only getting up to get more water and/or chicken soup. However, that is not the case. So, I'll be heading out shortly to stock up on some of that noxious five hour energy stuff, fruit juice and whatever amphetamine-like diet pills have somehow managed to escape being banned by the Fda...

It's funny how life works sometimes. Several years ago, I was driving along, listening to the radio when a song came on, a singer I had never heard before. It was a woman with a stunning voice, beautiful and unique. Soaring high notes, velvety low notes, and emotionally soothing everywhere in between. I remember being so captivated I had to pull over to the side of the road because it's hard to drive while weeping. The singer was Julia Fordham. When I was asked a short while later, in some interview, "Who do you listen to in the car," I said, "A great British singer/songwriter named Julia Fordham -- you should check her out." A few days later I got a very nice phone call from Ms. Fordham, thanking me for the plug. I told her it was my pleasure,...
