Realism in gaming has reached a whole new level, as video game deaths aren’t just walking into a small chasm and popping up from the checkpoint again, unharmed. From Call of Duty to Mortal Kombat death isn’t pretty in there. It can be gut-wrenching and may lead anyone to say, ‘That was cruel’.
But that’s what makes those games worthwhile, though not for children under a certain age. Some of the kills may even cause players to induce mercy, even though they have developed hatred towards a character. Such are some gruesome video game deaths as found on X/Twitter via user NikTekofficial, listed below.
8. William Carver’s Death From Telltale’s The Walking Dead Kenny leaves Carver’s face disfigured in the game.
In the case of The Walking Dead‘s antagonist, karma hit him badly, and so did Kenny. In the game, Carver is held...

The next installment of the long lasting Marvel Cinematic Universe has a lot of pressure behind it. Not only is this the first time the X-Men series will be brought into the MCU after being at 20th Century Fox for two decades, but the previous year’s films were seen as either disappointments or outright failures.
With the film only a couple months away the film is reportedly getting some last minute reshoots to try and make sure all of the pieces fall into place. Marvel is under a lot of pressure to try and save the MCU from disaster and the third Deadpool film may be the one to save it.
Some fans believe the reshoots might incorporate more cameos than they were able to before. Whether that is true or not, we are already expected to have a bunch of Marvel cameos from across the multiverse.
Now, in addition to the reshoot reports,...

With Godzilla x Kong‘s box office success and Godzilla Minus One’s Oscar win making the kaiju legend more relevant than ever, let’s turn the doomsday clock back to 1998 as Awfully Good Movies tackles Roland Emmerich and Dean Devlin’s infamous American reboot, known simply as Godzilla!
With TriStar eager to keep its rights agreement with Toho to make its own Godzilla trilogy after director Jan de Bont was dropped from the film, they turned to the same duo that just blew up both the box office and the White House with Independence Day, who were allowed to do whatever the hell they wanted with the giant lizard’s American debut as long as they could get the flick made within a year for Memorial Day 1998. And much like the Toho executives who first saw Emmerich’s redesigned Godzilla, the eager audiences of Godzilla fans in Japan and...

Who’s ready for a joyride? The long-rumored Ferris Bueller’s Day Off spin-off, Sam and Victor’s Day Off, is ready to twist and shout with David Katzenberg at the helm. According to industry insider Jeff Sneider, Katzenberg is buckling up for a film featuring the two mischievous valets who borrowed Cameron’s father’s Ferrari to rip through the streets of Chicago joyously! In his newsletter, Sneider says the duo’s adventure takes place on a single day, with Sam and Victor grabbing life by the short and curlies for a fast-paced tear through city streets.
Sam and Victor’s Day Off will be Katzenberg’s feature directorial debut after helming numerous television episodes for various shows. Famously known in the industry for directing 41 episodes of The Goldbergs, Katzenberg’s director credits extend to Young Rock, 9-1-1: Lone Star, The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers, Schooled, Riverdale, and more.

John Hughes’ 1986 classic Ferris Bueller’s Day Off holds a revered place in cinematic history, cherished for its timeless charm and witty humor despite originating from the sitcom genre. However, the prospect of a spin-off film, tentatively titled Sam and Victor’s Day Off, has thrust the beloved original into the spotlight once more.
With Paramount Pictures at the helm, David Katzenberg is set to direct the anticipated follow-up.
Ferris Bueler’s Day Off
Yet, the reaction from die-hard fans of the original has been less than enthusiastic, casting doubt on the spin-off’s potential success. Critics argue that the decision to create a spinoff movie is motivated purely by financial gain rather than artistic integrity.
The sentiment among fans underscores apprehension that the spin-off could veer into the realm of disappointment, failing to capture the essence that made the original a cult classic.
Will Ferris Bueller’s Day Off Spinoff Diminish a Cult Classic?...

When Jennifer Grey received the script for A Real Pain, she was — like most of the country — deeply entrenched in the final episodes of Succession. The actress, who is best known for her work in movies like Dirty Dancing and Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, was considering a role in the story (written and directed by Jesse Eisenberg) about two cousins who join a Jewish heritage tour in Poland to reconnect with their late grandmother and visit the town that she fled before the war. Kieran Culkin was already attached to star as the lead opposite Eisenberg, and Grey says she was excited about the possibility of working with the actor responsible for some of the show’s finest work.
“And then I read the script, and I went from excited to elated,” she told THR during a panel at the St. Regis Deer Valley, sponsored by Screenvision. “It’s a very deep movie,...

Two episodes into the latest season of HBO’s True Detective, and we are so invested already. The Jodie Foster-led new season, titled Night Country, seems like a return to form for the show after two lackluster seasons. The masterful first season, which debuted exactly a decade ago, is still hailed as the pinnacle of this genre. Although the show follows an anthology format, the new season does resemble the first season in some ways, which has only worked in its favor. We have seen only two episodes, but we already have a lot of questions. In this article, we’re going to try finding answers to those while being completely aware that we’re probably going to be proven wrong, as figuring out True Detective has never been easy. But since talking about things like these is always fun, I’m going to do it anyway.

When it was first announced that Mike Flanagan – who has previously been at the helm of the Stephen King adaptations Gerald’s Game and Doctor Sleep (and is also developing a series adaptation of The Dark Tower for Amazon Studios) – would be directing another King adaptation, The Life of Chuck, there were two actors already attached to the project: Tom Hiddleston (Loki) and Mark Hamill (Star Wars). Once filming got underway in Alabama earlier this month (the independent production was able to secure a SAG interim agreement that allows it to film while the Screen Actors Guild strike is still going on), it was revealed that Chiwetel Ejiofor (12 Years a Slave), Karen Gillan (Guardians of the Galaxy), and Jacob Tremblay (The Predator) are also in the cast. And now Flanagan has taken to social media to reveal the names of the rest of the characters – a list that includes A Nightmare on Elm Street...

Bueller? Bueller? To many, Matthew Broderick will always be Ferris Bueller, the king of skipping school, dodging pesky principals and parade serenades. Broderick is well aware of this, fessing up that character will be his legacy.
Speaking with The Guardian, Matthew Broderick admitted he will forever be tied to Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, saying, “What’s my legacy? Well, I’m Ferris Bueller, I suppose. I have to accept it. And I like it. I’ve made my peace with it.” Broderick almost seems a bit reluctant to latch onto the reputation of Ferris Bueller, although that might be because the movie is almost 40 years old and was part of the early stage of his career, adding, “I’m not ready for people to start discussing my legacy…And I have this Pollyanna streak that keeps me going. I always like to think there’s something coming that’s better.

When “NCIS: Hawai’i” airs tonight, it will quietly make a bit of franchise history — via guest star Kurt Yaeger. The episode will complete Yaeger’s full sweep of all four “NCIS” editions, which is believed to be the first time that an actor has appeared on every version in completely different roles.
“Given how long these franchises have been in existence, there will inevitably be some crossover with actors,” said CBS talent and casting exec VP Claudia Lyon. “We don’t have statistics on how often that happens, but I wouldn’t be surprised. There are many actors out there who do one or two of them. But what makes Kurt unique is that he’s done all four.”
But here’s what’s also notable: Yaeger is an actor/writer with a disability, having lost his part of his left leg in a 2006 motorbike accident. And he’s utilizing...
