Let me begin this rant by saying that Dan Scott is one of the most interesting, dimensional characters "One Tree Hill" has ever seen, and Paul Johansson is a fantastic actor, director, and all-around human being. He also has very excellent hair. This isn't meant as a criticism of Johansson at all.
It's also not meant as a criticism of "One Tree Hill" executive producer Mark Schwahn or any of his writing staff. It's simply a (very opinionated) look at a character from a dedicated fan of the show. (Because, for the record, I do really, really love this show, and have since I was 16.)
In this week's episode, Dan saved Nathan from his kidnappers and, quite literally, took a bullet for him. Because of Dan, Nathan will be reunited with his wife and children. It was arguably one of the most thrilling, suspenseful episodes in the series' nine-year run,...

On their marks! Get set! Go! [Cue the sound of a stalled car.]
America got its first official glimpse at the Top 12 men of season 10 Tuesday night (March 1) and things were as psychotically bipolar as a certain sitcom star currently making the rounds. (I'm looking at you, Emmanuel Lewis!)
For every exhilarating Casey Abrams, there was a soul-crushing disappointment of Sundance Head proportions. (Oh the humanity, Tim Halperin!) Still, a trio of final performances (and a couple others) kept the momentum of "Idol X: Lauren Alaina or Bust" going strong.
Before I start shamelessly plugging my brand new weekly live show, "Idol Party Live," premiering this Thursday night at 10pm Et on MTV.com (featuring fans, celebs and a grand karaoke finale), let's take a closer look at each of the first official performances of season 10. (Seriously though, don't miss "Idol Party Live." In a lovely sign of "Idol" blogger solidarity, Entertainment Weekly's whip-smart recapping superstar Annie...

Todrick Hall, 24, knows he's had some rough weeks. Immediately pegged as "the dancer who can sing," Hall set out early to prove himself. On Wednesday night, he thought he did just that, but voters thought otherwise. EW spoke with Hall following his elimination. Entertainment Weekly: How are you doing? Todrick Hall: Good. I'm really excited about what the future holds. Dealing with the elimination Ok? You know what, I woke up yesterday, and I felt good about what I did and that's all I wanted to do. I knew there was a chance I could be going with the...

Listen to someone who knows – our guest blogger, 28-year-old Blake Lewis – is a man who knows! He did come in as American Idol’s Season 6 runner-up, after all!
Hey guys, this is my first blog for HollywoodLife.com and my first time watching American Idol in its entirety. I’m really excited to give you my highlights each week. This show means a lot to me and I know it does to you, too.
This season started off with the girls, and I must say I was really mad at all their song choices. This show is all about song choice and performance style, and on their night, the girls missed the bar on both.
Highlight #1 - Ellen! I’m really glad she is a part of the show. Many people are skeptical about her, but on the girls’ night, she gave us both comedy and judgment. Her criticism was actually on-point,...

The first days of Hollywood Week are down and Kara DioGuardi, only in her second year as judge on "American Idol," just spent her first few days with Ellen DeGeneres on the judges' panel. With Paula Abdul out, a slew of guest judges over the auditions process, Ellen in, and Simon Cowell leaving at the end of the season, DioGuardi says she's looking forward to the current judges staying put at least through the end of the season.
But with all eyes on Ellen who, with no discernable musical talents, seemed like an interesting, albeit odd choice for the job, DioGuardi says she thinks the comedian and television personality did great. "I think Ellen brings a sense of humor to the show of course, but she knows more about music than you would think," DioGuardi said. "I felt like she had a really good handle on whether they had potential or star quality.
