When we last saw billionaire Molly Wells, she publicly announced her plan to give away all of her Loot before unfortunately hopping back in bed with her obnoxious ex John. If you were hoping she’d ditch that sleazeball before Season 2 began, consider your wish granted!
John does call Molly in the premiere episode, but she tells him that what happened in Corsica was a mistake. He thinks they’re meant for each other, but she’s absolutely repulsed by the man and his money (and the entire garden of flowers he sends to her office). Despite their frosty chat,...

While Parks and Recreation began as a workplace mockumentary launching off of the popularity of The Office, it has since become a pop-culture phenomenon of its own. The series continues to be a fan favorite nearly a decade after the series finale, as do many of the actors that brought this beloved show and the town of Pawnee, Indiana to life. From animation to sci-fi to popular franchises, the Parks and Rec cast has explored a variety of genres and mediums in the years since the series’ end.
Across film and television, here are the Parks and Recreation cast’s best post-Parks roles.

“Perd Hapley is the lynchpin of an unlikely TV multiverse” is the name of the article you’re reading. And it will begin … right now.
NBC sitcom Parks and Recreation features the deepest bench of hilarious supporting characters you’ll ever see outside of The Simpsons‘ Springfield. But even among a murderer’s row of comedic talent like Joan Callamezzo (Mo Collins), Jean-Ralphio Saperstein (Ben Schwartz), and Tammy II Swanson (Megan Mullally), there’s one resident of Pawnee who stands head and shoulders above the rest.
Local news broadcaster Perd Hapley (Jay Jackson) is quite simply a TV icon. Blessed with a very distinct vocal style (that the Parks and Rec fandom Wiki accurately categorizes as “semantically redundant”), Perd often turns up on Parks and Recreation to help describe what’s happening … literally.

Pawnee has taken on Hollywood, as cast members of Parks and Recreation teamed up to join the picket line amid the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike. L’il Sebastian even helped the Parks and Rec team say (K)nope to the AMPTP!
Major Parks and Rec cast members included Adam Scott (Ben Wyatt), Nick Offerman (Ron Swanson), Aubrey Plaza (April Ludgate), Jim O’Heir (Jerry/Garry Gergich), Retta (Donna Meagle), and Ben Schwartz (Jean-Ralphio Saperstein), while those that played smaller characters – Alison Becker (Shauna Malwae-Tweep), Colton Dunn (Brett), Kirk Fox (Sewage Joe), Joe Mande (Morris Lerpiss), Susan Yeagley (Jessica Wicks), and Allan McLeod (Trodd Frankensteip) also turned up. Even Sam Elliott, who turned 79 just a couple days before and played Ron Swanson’s Eagleton rival in three episodes, made an appearance. Schwartz shared a few photos on social media:

As part of the SAG-AFTRA strike against the AMPTP, cast members from Parks and Recreation reunited on the picket line outside the Amazon Studios offices in Culver City, California, on Friday. Representing the 2010s-era NBC workplace sitcom at the protest were series regulars Aubrey Plaza(April Ludgate), Adam Scott (Ben Wyatt), Nick Offerman (Ron Swanson), Retta (Donna Meagle), Jim O’Heir (Jerry Gergich). Plaza and Retta both carried picket signs referencing Parks and Rec storylines. Plaza’s read, “Ann Perkins works for the AMPTP,” a nod to April’s frenemy on the show, played by Rashida Jones. Retta’s sign, meanwhile, read, “I sold that little red thing for health insurance,” referencing a slinky outfit Donna mentions on the show. #Wgastrong pic.twitter.com/Vc2MmpzX0w — WGA Board Candidate Jonterri Gadson (@JaytotheTee) August 11, 2023 Joining those cast members on the picket line were various guest stars from Parks and Rec...

To say that 2014's "Guardians of the Galaxy" was an unlikely success is an understatement. Sure, by that point the Marvel Cinematic Universe had established itself as the dominant force in popular culture, but taking a team of C-list superheroes that includes a talking tree and giving them the blockbuster treatment? Until the moment James Gunn's movie actually hit theaters, it seemed like a fool's errand. But Gunn proved all of us wrong in a big, bad way. A major part of the movie's success? The brilliant stroke of a soundtrack, dubbed "Awesome Mix Vol. 1."
Gunn did indeed use a musical score, composed by Tyler Bates, in the film. But pop songs that Peter Quill would have heard on Earth as a kid were woven into the fabric of "Guardians of the Galaxy" as well, with the sounds included on Star-Lord's mixtape anchoring the soundtrack. And that soundtrack holds...

Adam Scott is one of the greatest actors in Hollywood, with some of the most iconic roles in television history. He stole everyone’s hearts as the ultimate sweetheart and hilariously quirky Ben Wyatt on Parks and Recreation. He did a phenomenal job portraying the obnoxious but still funny Derek on Step Brothers. Scott is the perfect combination of charm, wit, and humor, which is why he’s one of the most legendary comedians of all time. Recently, Scott’s performance on Apple TV+’s Severance proved yet again just how talented he truly is. Although completely new to him, the role of Mark showed...

Adam Scott never wanted to be anything other than an actor. He has been devoted to his craft ever since his days of appearing in plays in high school. His first notable professional gig was playing a strung-out deliverer of exposition in the not-at-all-remembered 1994 MTV series "Dead at 21," one of the most 1990s things ever. A few years later, Scott appeared in the final theatrically released "Hellraiser" movie, "Hellraiser: Bloodline" in which he played a sweaty, immortal French aristocrat. That same year, he played the unnamed helmsman of the U.S.S. Defiant in "Star Trek: First Contact." Incidentally, his "Star Trek" character has recently shown up in the video game "Star Trek: Timelines" where he was named Helsman Wyatt, presumably after Ben Wyatt, Scott's character on "Parks and Recreation."

Aubrey Plaza and Jenna Ortega have broken the curse of notoriously cringe award show presenter skits. The duo took the stage together at the 2023 SAG Awards on Feb. 26 and played into their shared deadpan tendencies while announcing Sam Elliott as the winner of outstanding performance by a male actor in a television movie or limited series.
After standing in silence and eerily peering out into the audience for several moments, Plaza said, "I don't know why they paired us up together," to which Ortega responded, "Yeah I know, we have nothing in common." With nary a smile in sight, Plaza added, "We should find the people who did this," before the pair recited in unison, "And curse their families and watch as misfortune follows their bloodline for the next seven generations." The whole audience was in stitches over their sullen delivery, including Adam Sandler and Angela Bassett, who were spotted cracking up in their seats.

It came as no surprise when Party Down was cancelled. The year was 2010, and the scrappy, glowingly reviewed sitcom about an LA catering company had languished in obscurity for 20 episodes before finally calling it quits. Its paltry viewing figures – dipping as low as 68,000 US viewers for one episode – didn’t help. Nor did the fact that the Starz network was still in its unsteady early days of original programming. To cap this off, Party Down had already seen one cast member, Jane Lynch, leave at the end of season one; the end of season two would see lead Adam Scott poached by Parks and Recreation on NBC. So, all things considered, cancellation was somewhat inevitable. Its revival, though? That’s another story. The six new episodes of Party Down – released weekly on Starz in the US and Lionsgate+ in the UK, beginning this Friday – seemed, for a long time, a mere pipedream.

Abbott Elementary‘s overnight success at ABC is something to celebrate, and while the show offers viewers plenty to love, we can’t help but be particularly enamored by Tyler James Williams‘ portrayal of Gregory Eddie. The newest member of the Abbott faculty has his own quirks and unique traits, but there’s something about his role that reminds us of another comedy TV favorite: Parks and Recreation‘s Ben Wyatt (Adam Scott). The NBC comedy, which ran from 2009 to 2015, may have bid viewers farewell a while ago, but Ben’s influence seems to remain. Below, we’re breaking down the ways in which Gregory seems to be Abbott Elementary‘s Ben Wyatt. (Credit: Chris Haston / © NBC / Courtesy Everett Collection) Disinterest in “Normal” Things One repeated gag throughout Parks and Recreation‘s run was Ben Wyatt’s lack of understanding when it comes to the enthusiasm that surrounds Pawnee’s little horse Li’l Sebastian.

One year after “Ted Lasso” netted them seven Primetime Emmys, the Apple TV+ team are now not only looking to repeat their success in the comedy categories but also to make a splash on the drama side. The latter prospect mainly hinges on “Severance,” the first season of which has earned 14 nominations across 12 categories, including one for Best Drama Series and another for series lead Adam Scott. This acting notice is Scott’s first and comes nearly three decades into his career, which now includes regular roles on seven different series.

Adam Scott joined the second season of Parks and Recreation as the mild-mannered, calzone-obsessed state auditor Ben Wyatt. The show was on air for seven seasons, and while the mockumentary didn’t quite reach the popularity of its unofficial predecessor, The Office, it still holds a special place in the hearts of sitcom lovers everywhere. Parks and Recreation stars Amy Poehler as the overeager, overachieving assistant director of the Pawnee Parks Department, Leslie Knope. The sitcom also stars Nick Offerman, Chris Pratt, Adam Scott, Rashida Jones, Aziz Ansari, Aubrey Plaza, Retta, Jim O’Heir, and Rob Lowe. In an interview with Daily Actor, Scott revealed

This review contains no spoilers and is based on the first four episodes of Rutherford Falls.
Rutherford Falls, the new Peacock comedy from Ed Helms, Sierra Teller Ornelas, and co-creator Michael Schur, owes a lot to Schur’s previous series, Parks and Recreation. Not only does Rutherford Falls have its mind on civics, community, and bureaucracy, it also aims to have a lived-in quality, with a focus on world-building. In the four episodes screened for critics, Rutherford Falls makes a concerted effort to give every member of the Northeast community a name and a voice, much like the citizens of Pawnee.
Another quality that the fictional Rutherford Falls and Pawnee have in common is their complicated histories with native communities. However, whereas Leslie Knope shrugged and resigned herself to the fact that that the murals in city hall showcased horrific treatment of the Wamapo tribe, the characters of Rutherford Falls are taking a long,...

Parks and Recreation is iconic today to fans who remember it for the kumbaya tour of the later seasons.
It’s a show about friendships, people achieving their dreams, and falling in love.
The show is undeniably optimistic, but so much so that its fans seemed to give it a curious pass.
Anne’s friendship with Leslie was strangely set in stone despite the fact these two women met late in life when people’s friend circles are generally already relatively set. Did Leslie have a single friend before this?
Furthermore, Leslie wins the respect of everyone, and every single character finds love that results in a happy marriage. Is that realistic of any random sample of office mates and every marriage?
Everyone gets an amazing career. Again, why would one subdepartment of government produce so many success stories?
Even more disappointing is just How the characters are shipped. The...

What’s 5,000 times better than “5,000 Candles in the Wind”? The “Parks and Recreation” cast reuniting to perform the show’s legendary tribute song.
Leslie Knope (Amy Poehler), Ron Swanson (Nick Offerman), Andy Dwyer (Chris Pratt) and the gang from Pawnee, Indiana’s Parks Department virtually assembled in character Thursday night for a re-creation special to raise money for Feeding America amid the coronavirus pandemic.

It turns out the only thing that could get the “Parks & Recreation” cast back together was a global pandemic.
“I didn’t think that ‘Parks & Rec’ was going to reunite for any reason,” series creator Mike Schur said during a call with reporters on Tuesday. “Just because I felt like that show had a point to make and I felt like we had made it and we ended the show. It just didn’t seem like there was a compelling reason, but this is a compelling reason. This is as compelling a reason as there is.”
On Thursday, the cast of the fan-favorite NBC sitcom will return for a one-night charity special that benefits Feeding America. Netflix's Locke & Key introduces some fascinating keys with supernatural powers. We find and catalogue them all here.
The following contains major spoilers for Locke & Key season 1.
The selling point of Netflix's Joe Hill comic adaptation Locke & Key isn't all that mysterious. Like Ben Wyatt once said of the cones in Cones of Dunshire, Locke & Key is all about the keys.
Locke & Key follows the Locke family as they move into their father's old ancestral mansion known as Key House in Matheson, Massachussetts. The estate isn't just named Key House as a charming homage to the family's "Locke" name but also because of the many literal, magical keys strewn throughout the premises.

Actor and comedian Adam Scott is going viral on social media for publicly bashing Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell. Representatives for McConnell posted a gif of Scott’s “Parks and Recreation” character Ben Wyatt to the Republican politician’s official Twitter page. The “Parks and Rec”-themed post was being used to support Donald Trump’s claim that he would fill a Supreme Court vacancy before the 2020 election.
“Dear Mitch McConnell and all those representing him, please refrain from using my image in support of anything but your own stunning & humiliating defeat,” Scott wrote in reaction to McConnell’s post. “Thanks! Adam.”
Scott’s reaction earned praise from fellow actor and vocal Trump critic Mark Hamill. The “Star Wars” legend used Twitter to thank Scott for taking on the Senate Majority Leader. “Hey Adam, thanks for fighting the good fight and if he keeps trolling you, feel free to borrow this Gif to reply,...

If the filled-to-the-gills Dolby Theatre in Hollywood was a test audience tonight, then the signs were pretty obvious that Parks and Recreation fans want Leslie Knope back in office once again.
A few weeks ago at the Captain Marvel world premiere at the venue, there were cheers obviously from the office: it’s an industry event. But tonight the roar of Parks and Rec fans was deafening, moving the NBC comedy series star Amy Poehler to hold back her tears. “I’m totally overwhelmed,” said the actress.
So darn it, when is Parks and Rec coming back?
Before the event, Poehler said, “When Michael Schur is tech available” given his current dance card on TV.

What's in a game, or more importantly, what are TV writers trying to say when they come up with episodes about TV characters playing games? Are they hinting at themes, foreshadowing plot twists, or just having fun with tropes they normally can't touch with a ten-foot pole?
Games can also be a useful way to introduce characters, get them to reveal their deepest, darkest secrets, and have them interact with other characters that barely exchanged two words of dialogue with one another beforehand.

Jordan Peele has found the latest cast member to enter the fifth dimension.
CBS announced Friday that Adam Scott will star in an upcoming episode of Peele’s reboot of the classic science fiction series for CBS All Access. And judging by the episode’s title — “Nightmare at 30,000 Feet” — it appears Scott will be starring in a reimagining of one of the most popular episodes of the original series’ run.
That episode, “Nightmare at 20,000 Feet,” starred William Shatner as Bob Wilson, the only passenger on an airline flight to notice a hideous creature lurking outside the plane. Richard Donner was the episode’s director, which was based on a short story of the same name by “I Am Legend” author Richard Matheson. It aired on Oct. 11, 1963.

This includes a tour of the sets, a meet-and-greet with the puppet designers, and even a look at how individual costumes are handcrafted, while a 3-D printer is used to fabricate the artist’s designs for each tangible, miniature character.

Similar to Chris Pratt, when Adam Scott first came onto the scene in Parks and Recreation he was not a big character. He was there for some comic relief and was essentially the yin to Rob Lowe’s character’s yang. He was more or less a crony, assistant, and supplement to the show just like Pratt’s Andy Dwyer. But as time moved on the character of Ben Wyatt had a much more significant role in the lives of the government employees of Pawnee. In fact Wyatt became one of the most beloved and featured characters on the show. One of the

If one hundred people put together a list of the worst ways that horror franchises have jumped the shark, I’m pretty sure “sent the villain into space” would be near the top of ninety-nine of them. Sending a franchise villain to space is essentially saying, “Screw it, I’m all out of ideas for this character.” This would seem particularly true of a character like Pinhead, as the Hellraiser series has always been about grue-filled erotic fantasy and never even played in the same ballpark as science fiction. Given that the original Hellraiser is my all-time favorite movie, one might think that I’d see it as sacrilege to launch one of the great villains into the stars. Well, you’d be wrong, because against all logic, I firmly believe that Hellraiser: Bloodline manages to make it work.

Parks and Recreation is a show not many knew what to make of at first. In its first season, it seemed like something of a ripoff of The Office. And why wouldn’t it? It was co-created by Greg Daniels, one of the men behind the American version of The Office, and even one of Parks and Recreation’s leads, Rashida Jones, had a sizable role in The Office for a bit. The sense of humor was similarly awkward, and Leslie Knope felt like a carbon copy of Michael Scott — an insecure, people-pleasing, oblivious middle manager.
That started to change in Season 2, most notably in its last few episodes wherein characters Ben Wyatt and Chris Traeger were introduced to the cast.
