Exclusive: Jake Borelli will be departing ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy after seven years on the show, including being a series regular for the past five seasons, Deadline has learned. According to sources, Borelli is in negotiations to return next season for several episodes to wrap up the story of his character, Levi Schmitt.
Amid overall decline in linear ratings, it has become common practice for broadcast networks to ask for financial concessions on long-running series, which naturally become pricier as they age. As a high-end drama series headed into its 21st season with a large cast, most of whom have been on the show for years, Grey’s is expensive. I hear its renewal — like many other broadcast shows’ these days — came with a budget cut.
That is impacting the cast, with established stars faced with a reduction of their episodic guarantees, which means that they may be in fewer episodes next year,...

The Australian TV drama production sector has virtually ground to a halt with multiple shows suspending shooting last Friday.
Jungle Entertainment and BBC Studios shut down the ABC-commissioned Wakefield, the eight-episode drama set in a Blue Mountains psychiatric hospital.
“The limitations we’ve put on our incredible cast and crew over the last two weeks have made shooting more and more difficult and it is now logistically impossible and unsafe to continue,” Jungle CEO Jason Burrows tells If.
“We’re lucky to have partners in the ABC, Screen Australia, Screen Nsw and BBC Studios who have been very supportive. I just hope the government will provide some financial relief to those in need in our team, and the wider industry, while they are out of work.”

Um, listen. We know how the Grey's Anatomy universe works. We've been here a while. So when its sister show, Station 19, started its crossover with Grey's by having its chief pass out, right after his secret coworker girlfriend had just proposed to him, we should have known what was coming. But somehow we didn't, and we assumed he'd be fine. Boy how wrong we were. Chief Ripley (Brett Tucker) passed out at a flower shop after bailing on saying yes to Vic (Barrett Doss) when she proposed, and he ended up at Grey Sloan Memorial. The two shows are crossing over this week when Ripley passes out while buying flowers and ends up at Grey Sloan Memorial, being treated by Schmitt (Jake Borelli), the doctor who just so happened to have witnessed him buying those flowers for someone named Vic. Cue the shocked faces of Andy (Jaina Lee Ortiz) and Ben (Jason George). Of course the bigger problem right now is that Ripley is lying in a hospital bed after passing out at...

After two seasons, Alyssa Milano left the Mistresses TV show and was replaced by Jennifer Esposito. Now, Esposito has left the series. The ratings have dropped each season but ABC has continued to renew it. What will happen in season four? Will it be cancelled or renewed for season five?
Based on a British series of the same name, Mistresses revolves around the lives and loves of a group of sexy female friends. The current cast includes Yunjin Kim, Rochelle Aytes, Jes Macallan, Tabrett Bethell, Rob Mayes, and Brett Tucker.
