Saturday night the Houston Texans were handed a pretty tough loss to the Kansas City Chiefs to the tune of 30-0. Millions were watching as leader J.J. Watt and his teammates got crushed at the hands of Alex Smith and company. One would expect the Texans to be pretty down about the loss but Arnold Schwarzenegger had some words of encouragement for who many consider to be the best defensive play in all of football. The Terminator and former California Governor sent out a video following the game imploring Watt to get up and keep fighting. Schwarzenegger reminded them why

After about 32 years of being a slavishly devout fan of Killing Joke, the job of reviewing their new studio album with any semblance of balanced objectivity is a tougher task than you might imagine. Those who have embraced the music, mythos and accompanying sensibility of Killing Joke tend to do so with a bug-eyed fervor that borders liberally on myopic zealotry. In short order, no other band matters nearly as much.
That was me for many a year. Sure, I listened to loads of different stuff, but no one touched Killing Joke. Not even close. Even their less salubrious moments -- say, their first divisively populist single, “Me or You?” or Jaz Coleman's beleaguered ersatz-prog opus, Outside The Gate -- still seemed a thousand times more intriguing than any contributions from the rest of the rock rabble, despite any inherent flaws or deviations from the script. Simply put, there...

Exclusive: Salon Pictures readies Duchenne documentary.
Zodiak Rights has boarded documentary The Greatest Ironman which follows a father’s attempts to raise awareness of Duchenne a fatal muscle-wasting disease affecting his son.
The Greatest Ironman, produced by fledgling indie Salon Pictures, is due to begin filming next month and will track Alex Smith as he bids to complete a triathlon in a record-breaking time while carrying his 8 year old boy.
Peter Williams MBE is directing the film which will air as a 60 or 90 minute feature.
It will be produced by Salon’s Paul Van Carter and Nick Taussig, whose two sons also suffer from the disease.
Zodiak Rights’ head of factual Emily Elisha told Broadcast it was a “truly inspirational” story. “The team at Zodiak felt very moved by the original taster for the film which at its heart has the story of a father giving his all, to a physical extreme, for his son...

Among the other handsome QBs we wouldn't mind going into a huddle with are Colin Kaepernick of the 49ers, Cam Newton of the Carolina Panthers, and Alex Smith of the Kansas City Chiefs. Why Watch? Made as a final project for a University editing class, this documentary from Matt Ware shows just how instrumental solid editing can be. Made up entirely of archival footage, it chronicles San Francisco 49ers quarterback Alex Smith as he goes from being booed by thousands of his own fans to leading his team alongside coach Jim Harbaugh to an unbelievable 2011 season. Ware distills an entire season into a compelling story, complete with the ebbs and flows that the best sports films possess. Although some of the music choices are a bit too obvious, the overall effect raises blood pressure and provides a keen inside eye into NFL locker rooms. What will it cost you? Only 22 minutes. Skip work. Watch more short films.

The Game of Thrones might have just ended a few weeks ago, but the Dance with Dragons will be starting a few weeks hence.
There is much anticipation amongst the fandom community, as one can imagine after having been forced to wait six long and grueling years for this next installment, and Tower of the Hand, one of the première fan sites on the web, has been ramping up for the big event for the past month, including a countdown of the most-hated characters and a series of essays recapping where all the various story threads currently stand. (Afraid that pursuing such articles might ruin future books/television seasons for you? AMC Jon Hamm as Don Draper in “Mad Men.”
So, if things continue on this path, it’s safe to say there definitely might not be an NFL season this coming fall. And, if the glum news from AMC is correct, we won’t have a new run of “Mad Men” until 2012.
Which, to millions of Americans, stinks quite royally. No NFL Sundays? No “Mad Men” Sundays? What about all that suddenly spare time?
Not to worry. Here’s a...

We thought we'd try something different around here by turning our discerning queer eye towards the sports world, so in last Thursday's The Week in Sports we sifted through hundreds of wire photos looking for the most arresting images of male athleticism produced that week from around the world.
We thought it would probably be a one-off, our own gay Sports Illustrated special edition, but you guys clearly like your male athletes (both obscure and famous) and asked for more. You even suggested some of your favorite sports stars and requested photos of them.
We really did look for the names (and teams) you mentioned, but the caveat is photos have to come from the past week in order to appear in this feature, thus we couldn't go back and, say, get a hot photo of Gabe Kapler or Ryan Braun from last year. Much as we'd like to — those guys are smokin'!
