We had another Aew pay-per-view this past weekend, so you know what that means… A bonus Saturday episode of Aew: Dark which thankfully only features a handful of matches rather than the growing number of the regular Dark features! Anyway, on with the review…

Rhino trips up Mark from the outside, allowing Heath to turn the tide. Heath and Rhino wear Jay down as they cut off the ring and prevent him from making the tag. Welcome to this week’s Ring Of Honor…500 episodes! Yahoo! Right here on Nerdly, we’ve got the 500th episode of Ring Of Honor to get to. I’m Nathan Favel and we have two great matches to get to. Let’s get to them!
[Author’s Note: Jay Lethal, who has been accused of various sex crimes over the years, is present on this show. Lethal has not been found guilty or innocent of these various sex crimes in a court of law. If you are alarmed or upset by the presence of Jay Lethal, then viewer discretion is advised]. Match #1: Jonathan Gresham def. Jay Lethal – Roh Pure Championship Match The following is courtesy of rohwrestling.com:
Gresham and Lethal’s fellow Foundation members Tracy Williams and Rhett Titus came out with them and watched the match from outside the ring. Gresham targeted Lethal’s left arm to gain the early advantage. Lethal responded by focusing on Gresham’s left arm, hitting a hammerlock suplex for a near fall. Lethal hit a cutter and made a cover, but Gresham got his foot on the bottom rope, using the first of his three allotted rope breaks. Lethal applied a Boston Crab, and Gresham used his second rope break.

Welcome to this review of Ring Of Honor’s 19th Anniversary card, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and thou shalt not steal! So sayeth unto the word of God! The lord beith my shepherd! Unbegone from my tendered loins sprayed the pride of man. Whoeth so ever pulleth mine thumpeded heart like the beating of the great cockadoodledoo! Jumpeth did I atop the swimming shark and sayeth I unto you…ehhhhhh! We come now to the threshold of this most honorable ring. For 19 years haveth this mighty league of men and women braved so low a sport of false acts. Where hath been so deserved a hand upon the shoulder? Where have been the words of praise without the tongue everso forked? Why must this land run dry when greener grass to only those astride the path is bathed in the sweet nectar of the morning pour?...

Match #1: Dragon Lee defeated Andrew Everett – Ring Of Honor World TV Title Match The following is courtesy of rohwrestling.com:
Everett nearly pulled off the upset, but Lee ultimately prevailed after removing his knee pad and hitting the Incinerator knee strike. After the match, Lee — who is becoming more like older brother Rush all the time — stood on Everett and taunted him.

Match #1: Dragon Lee defeated Jeff Cobb The following is courtesy of rohwrestling.com:
Cobb was chosen as Lee’s opponent by receiving 41 percent of the vote, beating out Pj Black (31 pct.), Kenny King (15 pct.) and Eli Isom (12 pct). Lee scored what some consider an upset by turning a Tour of the Islands attempt into a crucifix pin.

My Opinion: 1.7 out of 5 – What a waste of two talented people. I get that this was just a set-up for another match, but wasting a booking is some-thing that shouldn’t be done lightly.

Welcome to this review of Ring Of Honor: Honor United 2019 – Newport, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and…this show sucked. Yeah. The London show rocked and this one sucked. You’ll get it in a minute.
Match #1: Villain Enterprises (Marty Scurll and Flip Gordon) defeated Tracy Williams and Flamita
My Opinion: 3.5 out of 5 – Fortunately, this show did start off with a lovely match. I used lovely. I can do that. Suck it, Donald Trump. This was a fantastic way to start the show, as it was a longer match with plenty of action that was properly paced and fought with heart and passion. The sucking hasn’t quite started, yet.
Match #2: Shane Taylor defeated Danny Jones – Ring Of Honor World Television Title Match The following is courtesy of rohwrestling.com:
Roh World Television Champion Shane Taylor successfully defended his title against UK competitor Danny Jones.

Match #1: Champions versus All-Stars – Champions versus All-Stars Elimination Match The following is courtesy of rohwrestling.com:
Teammates for a night, rivals Lethal and King began brawling with each other before the start of the match, but eventually order was restored. The Briscoes hit Redneck Boogie on King, but Cobb made the save. A little while later, King rolled up Jay Briscoe for a three count after Brisoe threw water on Rose. Jay Briscoe is eliminated. Former associates King and Taylor went at it, culminating with Taylor hitting Greetings from 216 on him. King is eliminated.

Match #1: Austin Gunn beat Dante Caballero – Top Prospect Tournament Semi-Finals Match The following is courtesy of rohwrestling.com:
Caballero hit a German Suplex from the floor onto the edge of the apron. Gunn rallied and went for a running clothesline in the corner, but Caballero moved and Gunn inadvertently hit the referee. Caballero took a drink from his flask and tried to spit it in Gunn’s face, but Gunn ducked and Caballero sprayed the referee. Match #1: Silas Young defeated Josh Woods The following is courtesy of rohwrestling.com:
Before locking up, Young grabbed a microphone and told Woods that he’s been in Roh about two years and hasn’t accomplished anything. He said Woods should be winning titles and earning the respect of his peers but even the fans don’t respect him. Young said Woods has a lot of learning to do before he earns respect. He told Woods to put up or shut up. Young handed the microphone to the referee, and as the referee turned to hand it off to a ringside attendant, Young kicked Woods low and locked on an inside cradle.

Match #1: Pco defeated Jay Briscoe by disqualification The following is courtesy of rohwrestling.com:
Not surprisingly, the fight spilled to the floor, where Briscoe backdropped Pco onto the edge of the apron. Back inside the ring, Pco hit Kryptonite Krunch for a near fall, and a cannonball off the top rope for another near fall. Pco connected on a cannonball through the ropes to the outside. Briscoe halted Pco’s momentum by dropping him ribs-first on the guardrail. Briscoe then sat Pco in a chair outside the ring and delivered a running crossbody. Later, Pco set up for a moonsault,...

Cabana out-wrestled Storm early, which frustrated the challenger. Storm resorted to roughhouse tactics to seize the advantage. Cabana came back with a moonsault for a near fall. Storm connected with a pair of superkicks and then locked on the Texas Cloverleaf. Cabana tried to get to the ropes, but Storm dragged him back to the center of the ring. Right from the opening bell, Young and Gresham engaged in a fast-paced exchange of technical wrestling holds. Surprisingly, Young not only kept up with Gresham, but he was actually a step ahead. In a display of supreme confidence — or arrogance — Young voluntarily gave Gresham his wrist. Young quickly countered Gresham’s offense and gained the advantage. Match #1: The Briscoes and Silas Young defeated Shinobi Shadow Squad The following is courtesy of rohwrestling.com:
Anyone expecting the Briscoes and Young to steamroll 3S quickly found out that wasn’t going to be the case. The underdogs gained an early advantage with quick tags and a stick-and-move approach. Eventually, the Briscoes and Young isolated Cheeseburger. After Cheeseburger tagged Isom, Isom entered the ring with a head of steam and hit a Death Valley Driver on Jay Briscoe for a near fall. After Jay Briscoe recovered, he hit a Death Valley Driver of his own on Isom, and Mark Briscoe followed with Froggy Bow. The cover seemed merely a formality,...

Welcome to this review of Ring of Honor, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and we have a big tag team title match for the main event, so don’t snap your fingers or the Avengers will die.
Match #1: Shane Taylor won a Six-Man Mayhem Match over Luchasaurus, Chris Sabin, Rhett Titus, Kenny King and Flip Gordon The following is courtesy of rohwrestling.com:
King and Titus, who were former Roh World Tag Team Champions years ago as the All Night Express, faced off early in the match and battled to a stalemate. Then they started working together, using double-team tactics to get the better of Taylor and Luchasaurus. When King and Titus both went to cover Luchasaurus, however, the alliance came to an abrupt halt. Later in the match, after Titus, Taylor and Luchasaurus all hit big moves from the ring to the outside, Gordon one-upped...

Welcome to this week’s Ring of Honor review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and we have a tag title main event, so let’s get to it.
Match #1: Zack Sabre Jr. defeated “Hot Sauce” Tracy Williams The following is courtesy of rohwrestling.com:
Sabre was making his much-anticipated Roh debut, but anyone thinking he would have an easy time with Williams was mistaken. Williams took the fight right to Sabre and matched the master technician hold for hold and counter for counter. Williams hit a Death Valley Driver for a near fall. He then applied the Texas Cloverleaf, but Sabre turned it into an inside cradle for a near fall. Williams answered with a hard clothesline for a near fall. Sabre landed a series of strikes and then applied his Hurrah submission move. Williams could not escape and had no choice but to tap out.

Welcome to this review of Ring Of Honor, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and we have a four way main event. That’s not a sex thing, by the way. We have four people fighting in the main event for a title shot. Get it? I don’t.
Match #1: Jeff Cobb defeated Luchasaurus – Proving Ground Match The following is courtesy of rohwrestling.com:
As per the rules of a Proving Ground Match, if Luchasaurus defeats Cobb or lasts the entire 15-minute time limit, he will receive a future shot at the Roh World Television Title. Immediately after the bell rang, the enigmatic Luchasaurus stunned Cobb with a spinning heel kick for a near fall. Luchasaurus tried to keep his momentum going, but when he charged Cobb in the corner, the champion caught him and hit a spinning suplex. Cobb followed with a superplex and standing moonsault for a near fall.

Welcome to this week’s Ring of Honor review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and we have a confusing, chaotic and interesting show to cover, so let’s do so before Barbra Streisand shows up to give us therapy.
Match #1: The Boys versus The Kingdom (Matt Taven and Tk O’Ryan) – Tag Team Match
My Take: Matt Taven requested a Handicap Match, so he got one.
Match #1: Matt Taven versus The Boys – Handicap Match
My Take: Matt Taven took out Boy #2, so it became a singles match.
Match #1: Matt Taven versus Boy #1
My Take: Boy #2 woke up and returned, so the match became and Handicap again.

Welcome to this week’s review of Ring of Honor, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and we have a double main event for the show itself, so let’s get right to it.
Match #1: Marty Scurll beat The Hurricane – Fight Without Honor Match
My Take: 3 out of 5 – I’m pretty sure this was a Fight Without Honor, because they bludgeoned each other with every-thing but the kitchen sink. Hurricane did a fine job here for man past his prime and delivered a strong performance that proved that a “has-been” can be worth just as much as ever. Hurricane focused on brawling in certain parts, while getting into the kind of technical wrestling that his cruiserweight peers are often accused of not employing in their work. Well, don’t I sound like the little dink-head supreme? First off, I don’t even have a firm grasp on...

Welcome to this week’s Ring of Honor review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and we have the fall-out of the great Iron-Man match from last week. It’s time to bake a cake… dumb-ass. Also, we will be using a review of Ring of Honor from Dave Meltzer’s Wrestling Observer that was written by Dan Velten. Please feel free to visit the Wrestling Observer as one of many places to get news and reviews about professional wrestling.
Match #1: Women of Honor Champion Sumie Sakai defeated Tasha Steelz – Proving Ground Match The following is courtesy of the Wrestling Observer and Dan Velten:
Sakai put a hurting on Steelz in the opening sequence, but Steelz landed a springboard bulldog for a two count. She went for the Boricua Butterfly, but Sakai countered into her Smashmouth finisher for the three count.
My Take: 3 out of 5 – I thought...
