"You don't recognize me, do you? Even though we've met a thousand times..." Breaking Glass Pictures has revealed a new trailer for a strange time travel sci-fi thriller titled Variant, which is written & directed by a filmmaker named Tony Leech (he also co-directed 2005's Hoodwinked). This hasn't been seen many places yet and doesn't look like it's really anything worth talking about, another of these junk indie sci-fi films that will be instantly forgotten upon release. Huh. When an artist struggling for purpose meets a mysterious yet charming stranger, she becomes entangled in his twisted attempts to "relive the perfect moment". It's hard to tell from this trailer - is he an android? Does he have a time machine? Are they in a simulation? Wtf is going on in this. Ashlynn Yennie stars with Dino Antoniou, Sonalii Castillo, Josh Zuckerman, and Chelsea Yakura-Kurtz. This really looks like one big mess.

Keke Wilson ignited a social-media storm when she posted her "Savage" dance in 2020. The 15-second clip came to define the TikTok dance craze, boosting Megan Thee Stallion's rising rap career. While Wilson, who is 21, created the choreography on her own, several white influencers, including Charlie D'Amelio and Addison Rae, would recreate and become chiefly associated with the dance, thus reaping the rewards.
Despite all this, Wilson, who cheerled and danced competitively for more than 10 years, continues to entertain her 3.3 million followers with dances set to songs like "Freakum Dress" by Beyoncé and "Ragtime Interlude / I'm Really Hot" by Missy Elliott. This time, however, she's building a space that puts her - and other Black content creators - on top.
"I wasn't trying to go viral. It was literally just for fun."

Have you ever wanted to watch Joseph Gordon-Levitt to sing and dance with a host of Jim Henson creations? Because if that was some weird dream of yours, you hit the nail right on the head, and could probably be a studio executive with that kind of mind.
Variety reported on Thursday that Gordon-Levitt will produce and star in a live-action Fraggle Rock movie. The site adds that the bigscreen adaptation of the musical puppet series created by the late Jim Henson has been in the works for nearly a decade, but the attachment of Gordon-Levitt constitutes a major boost.
Fraggle Rock debuted on TV in 1983 as a co-production by British TV company Television South, the Canadian Broadcasting Corp., HBO and Henson Associates. It centered on the adventures of cave-dwelling creatures called Fraggles who have to deal with the industrious Doozers and furry giants called Gorgs.

The Weinstein Company returns to the world of animation next month to bring us Escape from Planet Earth, the animated adventure-comedy that should be fun for all the family.
We caught the first trailer back in November last year, and with its Valentine’s Day release fast approaching, the studio have released the first two TV spots.
“Escape From Planet Earth, a CG-animated comedy, will be in theaters on February 14, 2013.
In Escape From Planet Earth astronaut Scorch Supernova finds himself caught in a trap when he responds to an Sos from a notoriously dangerous alien planet.”
The voice cast is made up of a pretty impressive ensemble, headed by Brendan Fraser, Craig Robinson, Jessica Alba, Sarah Jessica Parker, William Shatner, George Lopez, Jane Lynch, Sofía Vergara, and Rob Corddry.
Cal Brunker is making his feature directorial debut, having worked as an artist on films as big as Despicable Me, Horton Hears a Who!

The Weinstein Company will host a private screening of their upcoming animated film "Escape From Planet Earth" for a very select audience. The revelation came in New York Supreme Court documents related to an ongoing and highly contentious legal battle that pits Weinstein against filmmaking duo Brian Inerfeld and Tony Leech, who were originally involved with "Escape" as producer and writer-director respectively. The screening has been mandated by the court so that Inerfeld and Leech can view the work-in-progress version of the film, reportedly to resolve credit disputes. "Escape" has been the subject of a flurry of lawsuits and allegations this...

The contentious legal saga behind the upcoming release of animated feature Escape from Planet Earth has taken another turn. THR reports that Bob and Harvey Weinstein will now host a private screening of the film for the men suing them, Brian Inerfeld and Tony Leech. If all goes well, perhaps the $50 million dollar lawsuit at the heart of the case can be settled without any more acrimony. The animated feature, which is about an alien prison break, languished in development hell for years. Inerfeld and Leech, the plaintiffs, claim this is because the Weinsteins are “two out-of-control movie executives ... who sabotaged what should have been a highly profitable movie through a potent combination of hubris, incompetence, profligate spending and contempt for contractual...

A New York judge rejected several pre-trial motions in a $50 million lawsuit filed by the filmmakers behind a still-unreleased animated film, Escape From Planet Earth against the Weinstein Company, paving the way for the case to go to trial. TWC and its fellow defendants had attempted to have the claims — that the companies violated their contract with the filmmakers and “sabotaged” the release of their own movie with “Bialystock & Bloom” financial shenanigans — dismissed or at least moved to a California court. But New York State Judge Paul Feinman denied their motions — as well as one from the plaintiff requesting that...

Fast money for a racing movie. Fast Five premiered in the Number One spot at the box office this weekend with $83.6 Million. I do not think anyone was expecting such a large take from Fast Five. It seems Universal Studios was right to prep The Fast and the Furious 6. Rio was Second with $14.4 Million for $103.6 Million so far. Tyler Perry’s Madea’s Big Happy Family was Third with $10 Million. Water for Elephants was Fourth with $9.1 Million. Prom premiered in Fifth with $5 Million. Hoodwinked Too! Hood vs. Evil (which premiered this weekend), Soul Surfer, Insidious, Hop, and Source Code rounded out the top ten respectively.

So now Relativity has made a list of all the open lawsuits which The Weinstein Company is involved in, according to public records, to back up its claim that this Weinstein vs Relativity lawsuit "is yet another typical litigation stunt from the Weinsteins who have a long history of threatening law suits with the sole purpose of intimidation." But a lot of the lawsuits are actually TWC being sued. Interesting, nevertheless: Brem v. TWC Browder v. Q. Tarantino, TWC Cat Entertainment v. TWC Dannez Hunter v. Bob Weinstein, TWC Degeto Film v. Producer says his failure to buy Us film rights to Stieg Larsson's Millennium trilogy was a 'big bloody mistake'
The King's Speech producer Harvey Weinstein has told Newsweek his "favourite mistake" in Hollywood was failing to buy the Us film rights to Stieg Larsson's Millennium trilogy.
David Fincher is currently adapting the bestselling novels for the big screen following the success of earlier Swedish versions. Daniel Craig and Rooney Mara will star as campaigning journalist Mikael Blomkvist and hacker Lisbeth Salander.
"Everything about it in my gut said, 'Do this'," Weinstein said. "But my team said, 'No, we should focus on bigger movies' ... I didn't listen to my very significant gut ... And that was a big bloody mistake."
Meanwhile, Weinstein and his brother Bob, who together head the Weinstein Company, are being sued for $50m by two animated film-makers who claim they botched the release of CGI movie...

Tony Leech, the co-director and co-writer of 2005′s Hoodwinked!, is claiming Harvey and Bob Weinstein sabotaged the delayed comedy Escape from Planet Earth “through a potent combination of hubris, incompetence, profligate spending, and contempt for contractual obligations.” A $50 million lawsuit, which labels both brothers “out-of-control movie executives” who “are a real-life version of Bialystock & Bloom (from the film and show The Producers), claims that the Weinsteins oversold potential profits from the film, leading to Planet Earth’s delay. (The film was originally slated for a 2009 release.)

Producers of Escape from Planet Earth, Tony Leech and Brian Inerfield are, according to Variety, claiming that "hubris, incompetence" and "a contempt for contractual obligations" sabotaged their film and have filed a $54 million lawsuit against Bob and Harvey Weinstein. Apparently the $54 million is what Leech and Inerfield estimate they would have made on the film as part of their 20% cut of adjusted gross profits. Would have...could have....should have....didn't. Weinstein Co's attorney Bert Fields said in a counter statement that "This is a completely frivolous lawsuit. The pleading contains little more than false, gratuitous, slanderous, preposterous and totally irrelevant personal attacks on TWC...

Fresh off Oscar wins for "The King's Speech," Harvey Weinstein and his brother Bob Weinstein were hit with a $50 million lawsuit on Wednesday claiming they sabotaged production of a troubled animated film. Filmmaker Tony Leech, a co-director and co-writer of the 2005 animated hit "Hoodwinked!" which was distributed by The Weinstein Co., filed the lawsuit in Manhattan Supreme Court over the much-delayed action-comedy, "Escape From Planet Earth." He was joined by producer Brian Inerfeld and his company Protocol Pictures. The lawsuit claims the film was "sabotaged...through a potent combination of hubris, incompetence, profligate spending, and contempt for contractual obligations." Calling the brothers "out-of-control movie executives," the lawsuit depicted Harvey and Bob Weinstein as "a real-life version of Bialystock & Bloom," the bumbling characters from the Mel Brooks satire "The Producers." The Weinstein Co.'s lawyers fired back, dismissing the suit as "frivolous" and rife with "slanderous" and "irrelevant" personal attacks. They...
