Former England soccer team manager Sven-Goran Eriksson will continue to contribute to a Prime Video documentary about his life and career, despite his terminal cancer diagnosis.
75-year-old Eriksson has been working with Whisper production company for the last 18 months on a “warts and all” documentary, tracing his career from Italian club Lazio to becoming the first non-British manager of England in 2001.
The Times reports that the doc may be aired midway through the year, although Eriksson will have the final say on the transmission date. The paper quotes a source saying that, despite the football pro’s deteriorating health, there is a lot of humour in the piece, as “Sven is a very funny guy.”
As well as his footballing achievements, the documentary will chart Eriksson’s high-profile life away from the pitch, including relationships with long-term girlfriend Nancy Dell’Olio and British TV presenter Ulrika Jonsson.

In the UK in the 1990s, bodybuilding was a freak pursuit – the domain of weirdos who painted themselves with Ronseal and stretched tiny Lycra hammocks across acres of skin the texture of an Arbroath Smokie in an attempt to resemble Marvel’s The Thing. Nobody knew what a deltoid was. Or a protein window. Fit people were the ones who played a weekly game of five-a-side before the pub. Fake tan smelt of biscuits, and even Sporty Spice didn’t have abs.
When Gladiators first arrived on TV then, its stars were curios. We only saw people like them once a year, pulling a truck on The World’s Strongest Man or being gawped at by Clive James on Television. These demigods with 19 inch biceps and thighs the size of dustbins didn’t walk among us.
Now, it’s all change. Ordinary people “lift”. Protein shakes are sold in supermarkets, and...

Gladiators, ready! The legendary sports gameshow that sees members of the public take on super-strong “Gladiators” in a series of physical challenges is getting a revival on the BBC – what a time to be alive. The new Gladiators starts on BBC One on Saturday January 13 at 5.50 p.m., and is presented by father-son due Bradley and Barney Walsh.
Gladiators captivated Saturday nights in the nineties. The whole family huddled around a too-small television to watch Ulrika Jonsson and John Fashanu introduce four “contenders” (members of the public) who were going to take on the mighty Gladiators, in a show packed with shellsuits, tight lycra costumes, and Hairstyles with a capital H. By the time it reached the final round, aka The Eliminator, we’d all be screaming at the screen as contestants faced trapezes, a zipwire and the ultimate challenge: the travelator.

A guest onThe Repair Shop was moved to tears during last night’s episode (22 March), after a painting that her family had hidden from the Nazis was restored.
In one of the most moving moments in the show’s six-year history, painting conservator Lucia Scalisi was presented with a 19th century artwork of the Madonna and Child, which guest Maria Kirk explained had an extraordinary story behind it.
Kirk told Scalisi that the painting had belonged to her grandfather, a Ukrainian Catholic priest, who had been given the piece by his father when he was ordained.
It had been on display in his church in the village of Skowiatyn, Western Ukraine, until the outbreak of the Second World War, when Kirk’s mother, aunt and grandmother fled.

Nathan Lane has recalled the moment that Robin Williams “swooped in” to save him from discussing his sexuality on a talk show.
The Modern Family star, 67, shared the heartwarming anecdote during an interview on Sunday Today With Willie Geist.
He and Williams were set to appear on The Oprah Winfrey Show to promote their 1996 LGBTQ+ comedy The Birdcage.
Lane recalled (as per Et Canada) that he felt nervous before the show, telling host Willie Geist: “I said to Robin beforehand… ‘I’m not prepared to discuss, you know, that I’m gay on national television. I’m not ready.”
The actor said that Williams put his mind at ease, before helping him out on stage as well.
“And so then, of course she [Winfrey] was like, ‘How come you’re so good at that girlie stuff? Are you worried about being typecast?’” Lane recalled.

Ulrika Jonsson has said she would not report her rape if it happened today because she feels “deeply uneasy” about the police.
The TV presenter – best known for Gladiators and Shooting Stars – criticised the standards of policing in the UK for having “an indifference about women and their safety”.
In her 2002 memoir, Jonsson, 55, divulged that she had been raped when she was 20 years old and beginning her career as a weather presenter.
Jonsson said that she did not report the assault at the time because she did not think she would be believed since she knew the rapist.
In her recent column for The Sun, she explained that there “was no such crime as date rape” at the time.
“Society had taught me that I – as a woman – was culpable for finding myself alone in a room with a man,” she wrote. “I lived with that guilt and felt it for decades.

The Apprentice candidate Reece Donnelly has addressed claims he was kicked off the show.
On Thursday (9 February), the latest episode of the BBC competition continued, showing contestants participating in a task in Dubai.
At the beginning of the episode, Donnelly could be seen at Heathrow. However, he later vanished from the episode, leaving viewers to wonder where he was.
Back in the boardroom, Lord Sugar told the contestants that Donnelly had to withdraw from the series.
However, The Sun claimed that Donnelly was actually booted off the show due to drinking on the flight to Dubai.
The report said: “Producers take health and safety extremely seriously and have a duty of care to all the candidates.
“Having him on screen intoxicated and taking part in a task when he was unfit to do so was something they simply couldn’t contemplate.”

The TV presenter was responding to claims that the actor is reportedly dating Israeli model Eden Polani.

Meanwhile, a source told People: “Leo and Eden just so happened to have been seated next to each other at the party, and were hanging in the same group.”

At 10.29am on 9 October 2019, Coleen Rooney posted a statement on Twitter. It was crafted with all the narrative tension and dramatic flair of a classic whodunnit. “For a few years now,” it read, a follower on her private Instagram account had been sharing details of her posts with The Sun newspaper. After puzzling over the case for “a long time”, she developed a hunch as to “who it could be” – to prove it, she constructed a simple but dazzlingly effective social media sting operation.
Rooney, the wife of former England captain Wayne, blocked all but one account from viewing her Instagram Stories, then cooked up a handful of fake news titbits: one claimed she was considering flying to Mexico to investigate gender selection treatment, another hinted at a return to TV and a third bemoaned a (fictional) flood at the Rooneys’ new home. Big Brother does love a twist, so this Friday three former housemates will be returning to join the 'fake evictee' in a Secret Lair. And goodness, did that spark some conversations at DS Towers about who should return!
Of course, some of our picks have been on Ultimate Big Brother, but we're going to ignore that (we're not sure it's canon when Ulrika Jonsson can be dubbed an 'ultimate' housemate, to be honest). And while there are obviously plenty of amazing contestants from years gone by, we couldn't choose them all. But below are just some of our choices for Friday's big twist - let us know who you want to throw back in!

It was part-Jackie's presence, part-Jackie's face that really shocked Brigitte Nielsen back on the show in 2005 when her former mother-in-law entered the house on day five.
Fellow housemates had to refer to Jackie as the Queen Mother,...

Have you ever wondered what Jet, Wolf, and the rest of ITV's Gladiators did after the show finished? Wonder no more...
ITV’s Gladiators - the show that for eight years made children everywhere become interested in sports, eating well and keeping fit... for about five minutes on a Saturday night, then we all went back to our natural state of sitting on the settee eating sugar straight from the packet.
What was it that inspired this minor surge of enthusiasm for being buff? That would be the gladiators themselves. Every week, twelve superhuman powerhouses - six men and six women - would intimidate, bully, and otherwise humiliate whichever puny contestants stepped up to try their luck, beating or hindering them in a series of physical skill games. This took place before the big finale – where the contenders would race each other up a downwards escalator, while the gladiators were...

There can be far worse situations for a woman than a man committing to their child but not (conventionally) to her
Would Hugh Grant be hacked off if I called him a tart? Oh, I'd better not then. Joking apart, it's been interesting watching the reaction in some quarters to Grant fathering three children, two by the same woman, and the two youngest within months of each other. Some have been shocked by what could be termed Grant's procreative ubiquity, damning him as a kind of A-list baby-papa, who needs to grow up.
Despite the homes and generous financial provision that Grant is said to have supplied, the children and their mothers have been duly fretted over. Arguably, the real worry is how easy it is to fall into the traps of judgment, envy and presumption.
Far from this being an example of double standards, men getting away with behaviour women wouldn't,...

This series of Celebrity Big Brother has been - without a doubt, without any arguments - a classic. Already, we're starting to wonder what we're going to do when it comes to an end. What are we going to shout at on our television now? But prepare we must, because the show comes to an end tonight (even after Channel 5 pushed it back and back again).
Before we say goodbye, though, there's one little matter to deal with. It's just a small thing. Only who's going to win. And to be honest, it doesn't seem like this is really a puzzler: all signs point to Jim.
Sure, we could be in for an Ulrika Jonsson-style shock, but if we're going on odds and what we know of the voting so far, it would not be a surprise to see the former Generation Game host taking the crown. But... is that a good thing?...

Ulrika Jonsson has taken a swipe at Dancing on Ice contestant Matt Lapinskas, calling him 'nauseatingly cocky'.
Writing in The Sun, the 45-year-old - who was voted off in week three when she took part in the 2007 series of the programme - blasted the skating show for its "predictable outcome of a former dancer always being crowned champion".
She continued: ''This year is no different. From day one, we've all known the winner is going to be former dancer Matt Limp-biscuit - a chunky monkey, one-dimensional actor best known for having played David Essex's son in EastEnders.
''His desperation to win gives off a hideous stench, as does his nauseating cockiness and endless pleading for sympathy.''
Lapinskas, who was dumped by girlfriend Shona McGarty last week, responded to Jonsson via his Twitter account.
Tweeting a link to her comments, he wrote: "Please don't judge or comment on people...

John Leslie has spoken about the false assault allegations he has faced over the past ten years. The former This Morning host gave his first televised interview in a decade on ITV's Daybreak this morning, where he criticised the press for ruining his career. Leslie first faced rape allegations in 2002 when Ulrika Jonsson wrote in her autobiography that a television presenter raped her when she worked as a junior. Channel 5 presenter Matthew Wright then accidentally mentioned Leslie's name live on air when discussing the issue. Several other women then came forward alleging that he had sexually assaulted them, but all charges were eventually dropped in 2003. Police also threw out rape allegations against Leslie in 2008. "I thought it was about time to get my point across, [as] ten years ago no-one would listen," he told Daybreak. "The (more)...

Ex-Daily Mirror editor shown in documentary telling Charlotte Church of stories which came about due to mobile phones
Footage of former Daily Mirror editor Piers Morgan telling Charlotte Church how "a spate of stories" resulted from the hacking of mobile phones will be broadcast in a Channel 4 documentary presented by Hugh Grant.
The conversation will feature in Taking on the Tabloids, a documentary on the future regulation of the press presented by Grant, who is fronting Hacked Off's campaign for stricter regulation of the press. Taking on the Tabloids will be broadcast on Channel 4 at 8pm on Wednesday night.
Church's conversation with Morgan was filmed in 2003, when the then 17-year-old singer was invited to address the Oxford Union where she called for a privacy law to protect under-18s.

Is this what they mean by Britain's Got Talent? While Piers Morgan has denied stooping to phone hacking while serving as editor of the Daily Mirror, a prominent British TV personality claims Morgan told him 10 years ago how to hack into a mobile phone's voicemail—and said he was a fool not to secure his own phone against hackers. "Right—that's the last time I'm inviting Jeremy Paxman to lunch. Ungrateful little wretch," Morgan tweeted today in response to Paxman's remarks to a media ethics inquiry. The BBC presenter and journalist recalled a lunch he had with Morgan and TV personality Ulrika Jonsson at Canary Wharf, in which Morgan started teasing Jonsson about a phone...

As more than a dozen journalists have been arrested in the investigation into Rupert Murdoch's News Corp. and their alleged phone hacking, CNN's Piers Morgan was called on to testify via video link from the U.S. Tuesday (Dec. 20).
The AP reports that the main topic of testimony was about comments Morgan made in a 2006 news article he wrote for the Daily Mail, in which Morgan said he was played a phone message left by Paul McCartney for then-wife Heather Mills.
Mills has said there is no way Morgan could have obtained that message in an honest way, and when Morgan was pressed by the inquiry chief Lord Justice Brian Leveson to provide evidence that he did obtain the message legally, Morgan could not do so.
Before he became a U.S. personality, Morgan ran two British tabloids, including Murdoch's News of the World and then its rival, the Daily Mirror.

If we believe all the eulogies to the Hollywood star, how can we say that only thin women are truly beautiful?
At the time of writing, the death of Elizabeth Taylor has yet to feature on Goop, the lifestyle website founded and run by another movie star, Gwyneth Paltrow. Admittedly, the older actress's weakness for bourbon, hot dogs and prescription drugs are not a natural fit with Gwyneth's tips for eternal life – how differently Taylor's career might have ended had she stuck to morning draughts of kale juice, "full of calcium and antioxidants" – but in the tributes following her death, many varied, usually dissonant voices have agreed that the woman, with all her fleshly vices, was a goddess and an inspiration of the sort we shall not see again.
We find Julie Burchill, for instance, who once addressed Camille Paglia as a "crazy old dyke", in full agreement with the...

"For me the pain in my lower back was increased by fluid leaking from the discs and causing immense pain down my left leg." Victor Ebuwa has left Ultimate Big Brother, finishing in fourth place.
Victor followed Nick Bateman, Samuel Preston and Ulrika Jonsson as they left the house on tonight’s final Bb show.
The original “slick man” Victor was notoriously involved in the now infamous Fight Night during Big Brother 5, when he had a huge argument with fellow housemate Emma and was given a formal warning about his behavior.
However, since returning to this Ultimate series, Vic has been more laid back, more fun and developed a serious bromance with the once nasty but not quite nice Nick.
We had hoped that Victor would at least make the final two, but those spots are now reserved for Chantelle, Nikki or Brian.

Nick Bateman has left Ultimate Big Brother, finishing in fifth place.
He followed Preston and Ulrika, who were released to a cheering crowd just minutes before.
The 42 year old shot to fame during the first Big Brother series in 2000. He was removed from the house after thirty six days, after being exposed trying to manipulate fellow housemates’ votes in the weekly eviction process. After his exit, Nick became better known as ‘Nasty Nick’ and even released his own book with that title.
During Ultimate Big Brother, Nick has proved to actually be quite nice, if sometimes a little naughty. He was slightly more boring than we had hoped and certainly didn’t indulge in half as many mind games as he was once famous for. But he was there on the first day and he was there on the last and there is something quite fitting about that.

Bass’s fiancée Steve McKeown has admitted that he is keen to prove how much he loves the BB5 star and has planned a surprise wedding ceremony for the brunette beauty.

“I want her to be whisked off her feet. I thought with her being a way for a couple of weeks, I could do something really special for her in a big way.”
Steve added: “It will be a big white wedding – the way Michelle wants it.”
“I imagine we’ll be inviting all of Michelle’s Ubb housemates and people like Lembit Opik, Katie Green and Michelle Heaton.

During a heart to heart with Ulrika Jonsson, Ultimate Big Brother’s Preston has admitted that he and Chantelle are still struggling to cope with their divorce.
The pair met on Celebrity Big Brother 2006 and subsequently got married. However they divorced nine months later and didn’t see each other again before entering Ultimate Big Brother last month.
On why his ex wife keeps getting emotional and teary, Preston admitted:
‘It’s been three years. I know it’s raw. I don’t know if she gets upset because it’s unresolved or if it’s anything to do with closure.’
‘I think it’s more the feeling about us two together again. I definitely feel it too. You start to get reminded of things.’
‘Thinking back to when we got together and how it felt invincible and positive, then knowing how it ended. It’s heartbreaking,’ he continued.
‘It’s heartbreaking for me.

Channel 4 have just announced that Ubb housemates will be given a new task today.
Entitled ‘Flawed’, the housemates will be required to “create their own synchronized dance routine, inspired by dance act stars Flawless.
“They will become the dance act… Flawed!”
Members of Flawless will apparently “be on hand” to give the housemates a master class of their dance moves, as well as helping them to choreograph their routines…
The Flawless members will ask each housemate to audition in the task room to decide who will become the lead dancer.
In order to pass the task, the Ubb housemates must choreograph, practise and perform their routine in front of Flawless. If the dance group deems that the housemates have tried hard enough, they’ll pass the task.
If they do pass, they’ll be rewarded with a hamper of pampering products.

o Brian will become the floor manager.

Michelle Bass was furious last night, after being hauled into the diary room by Big Brother and warned about inappropriate language that she used towards her fellow housemates.
Michelle was talking to Victor Ebuwa and Brian Dowling last night when she looked them up and down and said:
“It’s blacks and all sorts night tonight.”
Although no one complained about Bass’s comments, an uneasy silence did settle before Brian added:
“It’s gays, blacks, villains and divas night.”
Michelle was then summoned and ticked off and later stormed out of the diary room shouting:
“I’m the least racist person you’ll ever meet.”
She complained to Brian:
“I didn’t say any abusive words. I used the correct terminology and I only said it because you said it and Victor said it.”
Brian replied: “Oh my God, that was just us being silly. We were just joking.
