When I think of Brookside, I think of when I was little and exciting Friday nights back in the mid 1990's. That's exactly what Brookside provided me and my family with exciting Friday nights filled with the most unexpected/unrealistic story lines ever! Set in a working-class area of Liverpool, soap set in the fictional area of Brookside Close.
It just lacked reality and was obviously just to claim a large amount of viewers. Quite a shame really as it had great potential. The story lines just got too unrealistic to enjoy anymore. I stopped watching it in about 2000, but got back into it just before it finished. I do miss Brookside but it had its good sides very good fun ways of spending your Friday night and made stars of some of TV's treasures including Amanda Burton and Claire Sweeney. I can't honestly say I can picture Amanda Burton (who I know from Silent Witness and the Commander amongst several other well-made TV programs) in soap in Liverpool. Anyone who has any information about Heather Haversham PM me please! It'd be nice for Living TV or something to start repeating the episodes or something but it just wouldn't last on TV again.
