With there being an overlap between wrestling fans and horror fans, it only made sense for WWE Studios to produce See No Evil. And much like The Rock’s Walking Tall and John Cena’s The Marine, this 2006 slasher was designed to jumpstart a popular wrestler’s crossover career; superstar Glenn “Kane” Jacobs stepped out of the ring and into a run-down hotel packed with easy prey. Director Gregory Dark and writer Dan Madigan delivered what the WWE had hoped to be the beginning of “a villain franchise in the vein of Jason, Freddy and Pinhead.” In hindsight, See No Evil and its unpunctual sequel failed to live up to expectations. Regardless of Jacob Goodnight’s inability to reach the heights of horror’s greatest icons, his films are not without their simple slasher pleasures.
See No Evil (previously titled Goodnight and Eye Scream Man) was a last gasp for a dying trend.

If you are an avid fan of WWE then you must be aware of the various gimmicks the many wrestlers have had over the years. Wrestlers often turn to popular characters from fantasy to film to seek inspiration for their acts, so that fans can find their gimmicks appealing and battle the high competition.

This could not have been more true for one WWE Hall of Famer, Glenn Jacobs, whose character Kane was inspired by Michael Myers from the Halloween franchise. Although Jacobs carried the name to fame, it was Jim Cornette who was the mastermind behind the character.

Glenn Jacobs, who spent more than two decades in WWE’s ring as the sadistic, disfigured wrestler Kane, has taken punishing hits from wrestling fans after he enthusiastically endorsed the Supreme Court ruling Friday overturning Roe v. Wade.
Jacobs, a Republican who is currently the mayor of Knox County, Tenn., rejoiced in a tweet about the court’s historic decision eliminating federal protections for abortion rights.
“Roe v. Wade has been overturned!” Jacobs wrote in the post. “This clears the way for states like Tn to pass stronger protections for the unborn, and is an answer to a prayer for so many. #RightToLife #Victory.”
Jacobs’ praise about the demise of Roe v. Wade elicited dismay and sharp rebukes on social media.
“Respectfully @WWE, please never have Kane return to TV again. It’s a real shame you chose to be a monster inside and outside the ring,” tweeted Superzomgbbq, a U.

It’s kind of difficult to think of Glenn Jacobs as anyone but Kane, the Big Red Machine, and the on-screen brother of the legendary Undertaker. But considering that his career has been kind of non-existent in recent years, one might wonder where he’s gone. The simple answer is that he won an election a couple of years ago and became the mayor of Knox County in Tennessee, while the rest of the explanation, apart from being a busy man, is that he’s one of the many stars that were popular during the Attitude Era, and in the last couple of

The Broken Skull Sessions began with Steve Austin talking to The Undertaker. The second episode saw Austin talk with Bill Goldberg, and now, on the third episode, we see The Texas Rattlesnake sit down and talk wrestling, politics and life with “The Big Red Machine” Kane.
I was excited when this episode was announced in the same way I was when I heard about Austin’s episode with The Undertaker. Kane is a character I watched from his debut until, well… right now when he makes the odd appearance on WWE television, and his long and winding career has been something I’ve wanted to hear about for a long while. He was, after all, in a similar way to ‘Taker, very protected by WWE as far as hearing real-life stuff from him during his run. Photo Shoot is a show in which a WWE performer, past or present, sits down in a chair in a dark room with a camera pointed at them, and are shown a variety of photographs for half-an-hour from various times in their career, and they make comments on them. We’ve had a whole bunch of episodes since this WWE Original began, from Shane McMahon, Rusev and Ric Flair to Goldust, Jim Cornette and now, The Big Red Machine and Mayor of Knoxville, Tn, Kane.
The concept of the show is simple and effective and while it isn’t especially a deep-dive on the career photography of said performers’ career, it’s still fun to see a series of pictures pop up and hear random stories about each one. WrestleMania Fever took over New York and New Jersey this weekend, bringing big crowds of WWE fans to both the Big Apple and the Garden State.
While the celebrations kicked off a few days ago, the real deal was Sunday night, when the Super Bowl of professional wrestling returned to the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J. The open-air arena is normally home to the NFL’s New York Giants and New York Jets.
The packed roster for WrestleMania 35 included Superstars in high profile match-ups, like a winner-take-all main event between Ronda Rousey vs. Charlotte Flair vs. Becky Lynch, Brock Lesnar vs. Seth Rollins, Daniel Bryan vs. Kofi Kingston, Aj Styles vs. Randy Orton, The Miz vs. Shane McMahon, and women’s tag teams Sasha Banks and Bayley vs. Beth Phoenix and Natalya vs. Nia Jax and Tamina Snuka vs. The IIconics.

Last month, Glenn Jacobs filed the necessary paperwork to make a mayoral run, only people who know what Jacobs is better known for were a bit puzzled. While other wrestlers have run for office before (Jesse Ventura) people weren’t 100% sure if Jacobs was serious. Glenn Jacobs otherwise known as the WWW Wrestler “Kane” officially announced yesterday that he will be running for mayor of Knox County, Tennessee. Jacobs stated, “As Knox County mayor I promise to keep taxes low and make Knox County a place everyone can be proud of,” Jacobs promised. “I see my role as that of

This article is from Den Of Geek Us.
WrestleMania XXX was an eventful show. It calmed the fears of those afraid that it would crash the WWE Network and cause major damage to the company's latest venture. Cesaro broke away from his tag team and broke out by winning the Andre the Giant Memorial Trophy. Hulk Hogan, Steve Austin, and the Rock hung out in the ring and had a blast. Mr. T and Roddy Piper buried the hatchet. Daniel Bryan went through an endless supply of punishment before being defeating Triple H, Randy Orton, and Batista.
That was a big moment and a major story, but the thing people will be talking about for a long time is the end of Undertaker vs. Brock Lesnar. For the first time ever, Undertaker lost at...

Before Roar Uthaug (director of the upcoming Tomb Raider reboot) introduced moviegoers to a towering force of nature in The Wave, he took viewers on a deadly snowboarding vacation in the 2006 slasher film Cold Prey (aka Fritt Vilt), and a remake of the Norwegian film is now in development at WWE Studios.
Deadline reports that WWE Studios has picked up rights to remake Cold Prey, with Casey La Scala (The Remaining) penning the screenplay.
No casting details are known at this time, but it wouldn’t be surprising if we saw a wrestler cross over to star in the remake à la Glenn “Kane” Jacobs in WWE’s See No Evil movies.
The original Cold Prey followed a group of snowboarders who sought refuge at an abandoned hotel, and instead found someone sinister waiting for them… The horror film spawned a sequel in 2008 and a prequel in 2010.

Anyone who knows me knows that if a movie stars a professional wrestler, I’m immediately happy as a film fan. Yeah, I’m probably easily impressed, but still, whenever I see my favorite WWE (or otherwise) superstars make the leap to the world of feature films, it makes my inner child giddy. As a kid, it was the reason I first rented They Live, it was the reason I begged my mom mercilessly to see No Holds Barred in theaters, and when I learned in late 1986 that Jesse “The Body” Ventura was going to be co-starring in Predator, the next summer could not get here fast enough.
Even as an adult, I’m always a big fan of seeing wrestlers transition to movies, and that has a lot to do with my soft spot for Gregory Dark’s See No Evil. It features Glenn Jacobs (also known as “Kane...

While the pro wrestler Kane starred in two forgettable "See No Evil" movies in 2006 and 2014, neither had anything to do with Mia Farrow's 1971 thriller of the same name. It might not be the most popular flick of the genre to emerge from that decade, but it is cherished by some, so of course it's getting remade. The Richard Fleischer-directed original followed a blind woman who goes to her uncle's home, only to discover that her family has been murdered —she must then escape the maniac responsible for the killings. Mike Scannell will pen the new version, but there's no word yet on what his take on the concept might be. If you have any ideas about who should direct,...

Tommy Dreamer and Baron Corbin could be surprise entrants in tonight’s third annual Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania 32.
Wrestling Observer Radio’s Dave Meltzer noted today that there’s at least one surprise entrant expected in the match tonight and those two names were rumoured the strongest.
Former Ecw favourite Dreamer last appeared for WWE several months ago during The Dudley Boyz’s hardcore-style feud with the Wyatt family where he competed in a couple of matches in the last few weeks of 2015.
Corbin, who lost to a debuting Austin Aries at Friday night’s Nxt Dallas: Takeover show, has long been touted as a strong candidate for the main roster and perhaps an appearance in the Battle Royal tonight will be the beginning of a permanent switch to Raw and SmackDown.

Thursday, March 24, marks the 51st birthday of Mark “Undertaker” Calaway, the greatest WWE Superstar of all time.

Think about your favourite wrestler – did they start out this awesome, or have they become so through an artful alteration of gimmick, or simply through changing their style or becoming a more well-rounded performer?
It’s fair to say that not every wrestling performer lucks into the character that’s going to propel them to stardom straight away: in fact, those that have are the exception, not the rule.
Glenn Jacobs was notorious for labouring under some of the crappiest gimmicks that ever existed until he was given the Kane character out of nowhere in 1997. Unabomb was just weird, Isaac Yankem (Dds) unintentionally hilarious. Fake Diesel was one of the most poorly conceived gimmicks in history, and The Christmas Creature was, let’s face it, The Christmas bloody Creature.
None of those idiots were ever going to work WrestleMania opposite The Undertaker, were they?
Similarly, not every wrestler...

The Road to WrestleMania ran through Hershey, Pennsylvania Sunday night as the Superstars and Divas of World Wrestling Entertainment performed at an non-televised live event.
In a co-main event, Aj Styles challenged Kevin Owens for the WWE Intercontinental Championship while Kane and Big Show battled The Wyatt Family’s Erick Rowan and Braun Strowman in a Tornado Rules Hershey Street Fight. Yours truly was in attendance to witness those two bouts, as well as the rest of the action WWE unleashed on the Sweetest Place on Earth.
A show so close to WrestleMania, I could not wait to see what the reaction would be for some of the company’s biggest stars and the stories they would tell.
Needless to say, I was surprised by what I encountered.
What were the fans in attendance like? How were the performances of the men and women after a long weekend of work and travel?...

Too often, the Royal Rumble can seem like a one-man match. Despite being a 30-entrant free-for-all, it’s regularly remembered as little more than a setup for the WrestleMania title match main event.
The upshot is that the winner of the Royal Rumble is usually pretty easy to call. WWE’s booking is transparent enough that most savvy viewers can guess who’ll be closing out WrestleMania by the time they’re halfway through watching Survivor Series.
What really makes things interesting in the Rumble, more than the actual winner, are the last three men eliminated. They’re the understudies, so to speak: the ones whom WWE didn’t choose this year, but Could have, had things panned out differently. Those three, along with the winner, form the ‘final four’, representing WWE’s theoretical top contenders for that year.

A heel turn is never easy to pull off.
First, the turnee must be able to channel their inner baddie to effectively play the role or else run the risk of failing miserably. Then, it has to make sense within the context of the story. Finally, the fans have to be ready to accept a performer in that role. If they are not absolutely convinced that the character is somehow unlikable, they will either cheer them or react with crippling indifference.
Over the course of WWE history, the company have masterminded several highly successful heel turns, such as when The Rock emerged as the Corporate champion at Survivor Series 1998 or when Andre the Giant ripped Hulk Hogan’s shirt in the run-up to WrestleMania III.
For every great heel turn, though, there are a wealth of awful ones that have failed to capture the imaginations of the audience.

Every year, WWE runs a tour of the UK and other European markets just after WrestleMania. While this year’s edition had promised to be big with the announcement that Daniel Bryan would be appearing at April 19’s Smackdown! tapings in London, it just got even grander – The Undertaker will also be a part of the tour.
WWE runs two separate house show schedules with two separate rosters, and in order to give both sets of shows a shot of star power, Bryan will be on one and The Undertaker will be on the other. According to the Wrestling Observer, The Undertaker will be in action, though no opponents have been announced yet. This puts to rest any lingering speculation that the legend will be hanging up his hat after WrestleMania 32.

Fastlane 2016 is in the books, and it was a disappointment. Despite a card that looked fairly solid from top to bottom, nothing really delivered the way fans had hoped. The matches that looked great (Aj Styles versus Chris Jericho, Brock Lesnar versus Roman Reigns versus Dean Ambrose) didn’t live up to the hype, and the ones that looked bad (The Wyatt Family versus The Big Show, Kane, and Ryback, an unannounced R-Truth versus Curtis Axel bout) were bad.
Still, problems with the in-ring content could be forgiven if the booking was strong, and Fastlane fell even harder in that regard. In an ending that was simultaneously predictable and infuriating, company-approved top babyface Roman Reigns pinned Dean Ambrose to earn a title shot at WrestleMania, then stared down WWE World Heavyweight Champion Triple H to hype up a weak ‘Mania main event.

Conjecture is a fascinating beast, but it’s sometimes vital when analysing the world of professional wrestling. In this instance, it’s important to note that many of the ideas raised here rely on certain things happening at the next World Wrestling Entertainment pay-per-view. On February 21, the company present Fastlane, the final supershow stop before they produce WrestleMania 32 in early-April.
Due to the fact that Fastlane hasn’t happened as of the writing of this article, this list does some guess work as to outcomes on the show. After all, what happens on the coming pay-per-view will directly influence what occurs on the following evening’s episode of Monday Night Raw. That will be the first one on the home run to ‘Mania, and it simply must be huge.
Burning issues include some tension between Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns. That’s ripe for exploitation, and could help...
