Australian actor Ben Mendelsohn and his British writer wife Emma Forrest are divorcing after four and a half years of marriage.
Forrest, 40, filed for divorce on Dec. 23 — one week after Mendelsohn’s latest film, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, hit theaters, TMZ reports.
The couple married in June 2012 — but separated on Dec. 1 due to “irreconcilable differences,” E! News reports.
She’s seeking physical custody of their 3-year-old daughter Carolina, as well as spousal support, E! News reports. Mendelsohn, 47, would have visitation rights and joint legal custody and would be responsible to pay attorney fees and costs, according to her request.

Julian Lewis Jones ("Stella," "Invictus") has scored an unknown but key role in Zack Snyder's "Justice League" film which is currently shooting int he United Kingdom.
Speaking with Wales Online, he said: "I'm not allowed to say yet what part I play but let's just say I've a role in what will likely be the most expensive film ever made. It was filmed at Warner Brothers studio at Leavesden as well as at various locations around the UK and Iceland. Directed by Zack Snyder it stars Ben Affleck, Jeremy Irons and host of A-list actors. I'm just happy to have been involved and I'm looking forward to the movie's release which will be next year."
What role could he be is anyone's guess at this point, but the role is at least confirmed. In news of the more rumor variety, Colin Farrell and just departed "Game of Thrones" regular...

Heroic Hollywood are adding more fuel to the Justice League Dark fire with the rumour that sterling character actor Ben Mendelsohn (The Dark Knight Rises, next year’s Rogue One) is the frontrunner for the villain role of Anton Arcane, Swamp-Thing’s nemesis in the comics. Sources tell them that Mendelsohn would be interested in the part, contingent on who turns up to fill Guillermo Del Toro’s director-sized shoes (after the Spaniard once again left a project in pre-production).
This comes hot on the heels of yesterday’s buzz that Colin Farrell and Ewan McGregor are circling the role of John Constantine; Monica Bellucci is the top choice for Madame Xanadu; Ron Perlman is the holdover choice for Swamp-Thing from Del Toro’s time on the film and a hispanic/black actress is wanted to play Zatanna.

Whether you love or hate his films, there's no denying that director Joel Schumacher has shown himself to have tremendous staying power in Hollywood from directing '80s classics like St. Elmo's Fire and The Lost Boys to discovering talent like Kiefer Sutherland and Colin Farrell, having the unenviable task of following Tim Burton onto a huge studio franchise (and the less said on that the better), and doing smaller and more personal films in recent years. Now he's back with Trespass , a home invasion thriller that reunites him with Nicole Kidman ( Batman Forever ) and Nicolas Cage ( 8Mm ), playing a wealthy couple whose luxurious home is invaded by a group of violent criminals led by Ben Mendelsohn ( Animal Kingdom ) and Cam Gigandet ( Twilight ). It doesn't exactly redefine...

The United Kingdom has had its share of issues with famous folks and their creative output. But ban Bono's famine-awareness ad?! The PSA recently produced by his One organization, featuring the U2 frontman, George Clooney, Colin Farrell, Jessica Alba, Kristin Davis, Ewan McGregor and many more dropping bleeped profanities, only to lash out with the real F-word: "Famine." So, what? Too many F-bombs for British sensibilities? Actually...no. The PSA is too political, according to the advertisement approval agency Clearcast, which says the 60-second spot could violate the 2003 Communications Act. "These rules ensure that adverts aren't being broadcast by bodies whose...

The disease in question is epidermolysis bullosa (Eb) and he spent two hours talking to families before he whisked eight lucky ladies off for dinner at the famous Irish American steak house, Shanahan’s on St Stephen’s Green. Oliver Stone and Hugo Chavez, sitting on a tree... S-p-i-n-n-i-n-g. Back again with the best, worst and weirdest updates from the movie world, including director Oliver Stone's trip down to South of the Border, being buddy-buddies with controversial heads of state. That gave me an idea. How about a new Rambo movie where he rescues lefty filmmakers from mad dictators? What's that, you say? There's already a new Rambo movie in the works?

After triumphing for two years in a row, Jake Gyllenhaal is not the winner of our third annual AfterElton.com Hot 100 poll (see the results for 2007 here and 2008 here). So which out man did take the top spot? If you’re the kind of person who always burns their mouth biting into that piping hot chocolate chip cookie, you can just cheat and go here to learn who came in first place.
Here at AfterElton.com, we’re thrilled to announce an out gay man topped this year’s list – especially this particular man as most of us voted for him as well. In fact, out gay men snagged nearly 20% of the spots, including the top three. To be sure, we’ve nothing against our straight male crushes, but it says something great about 2009 that there are so many out men to choose from.

Poor chap. Despite also having written Kingdom of Heaven and Body of Lies, not to mention the upcoming big-screen fit up of Edge of Darkness, he is always referred to as William ‘The Departed‘ Monahan. I don’t quite get it because, well, it strikes me that Kingdom of Heaven and Body of Lies are the better films.
Perhaps now he’s segueing to a directorial career, he’ll be be able to get a name change: William ‘London Boulevard‘ Monahan.
Variety tells us today that Colin Farrell and Keira Knightley have been cast in the lead roles: Mr. Farrell as “a South London criminal who, after release from prison, tries to give up the gangster life by becoming a handyman”, this character being called Mitchell in the novel; and Ms. Knightley most likely not as the “reclusive actress” who hires him, but some other female character called Aisling who...

Keira Knightley and Colin Farrell have signed on to star in London Boulevard, a crime drama that marks the directing debut of The Departed scribe William Monahan. Monahan will also pen the screenplay, which is based on the Ken Bruen novel of the same name. The story revolves around a South London criminal (Farrell) who, after release from prison, tries to give up the gangster life by becoming a handyman for a reclusive young actress (Knightley). Along with The Departed, which earned him an Academy Award, Monahan wrote Ridley Scott’s Kingdom of Heaven and Body of Lies. He also penned the upcoming crime-drama Edge of Darkness, which stars Mel Gibson and hits theaters this fall. Graham King (Blood Diamond) is producing Boulevard under his Gk Films banner with Monahan and Quentin Curtis. Monahan and Curtis acquired rights to the novel last April. The film will shoot this summer in and around London.
