The world’s largest streaming service will release the second half of “Bridgerton” Season 3 in June looking to capitalize on the success of the first four episodes that were released last month. Also coming to the streaming giant this month will be the final season of fantasy drama series “Sweet Tooth,” the Glen Powell-led action comedy “The Hitman” and much more.

“Bridgerton” author Julia Quinn encourages fans to look at the bright side of Benedict’s love story being pushed back for Colin and Penelope’s in the next season.
Season 3 of the Netflix drama series will adapt the fourth book in Quinn’s series, “Romancing Mister Bridgerton” which features Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlin) and Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) instead of the storyline from the third book, “An Offer from a Gentleman.”
“I think they had just felt they had laid down so much groundwork because we already know Penelope,” Quinn told Business Insider of the shift in narrative.

Benedict Bridgerton (Luke Thompson) has been a reasonably aloof character in Netflix’s Bridgerton. The second eldest sibling, he’s been able to live life on his terms for the most part. While Bridgerton focuses on the marriage market of the era, Coughlan has promised that the new season will be a lot different than previous seasons.

Penelope Featherington, aka Lady Whistledown, steps into the spotlight in Bridgerton Season 3. The new season focuses on Penelope’s love story with Colin Bridgerton. However, there is another equally important part of her. Penelope lives a secret life, writing social pamphlets under the name Lady Whistledown. The young entrepreneur doesn’t give out her work for free, however, so just how much money does the writer make?

Throughout Bridgerton, Penelope Featherington writes a social pamphlet about the gossip of “the ton” under the pseudonym Lady Whistledown. Although some scoff at Whistledown’s writing, it seems no one in the town can help but be affected by her words.
The final episode of Bridgeton Season 1 revealed Lady Whistledown’s identity. Season 2 explored more details about how Penelope manages to live her double life.

At the end of the first season of "Bridgerton," viewers finally learn the true identity of gossip columnist Lady Whistledown. The queen of gossip among Regency London's elite knows everything about everyone - and she's not afraid to share the details. That earns this busybody plenty of enemies, and yet no one knows who's behind the pen. Then, in the last moments of season one, the cloaked Lady Whistledown reveals herself as Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan). Keeping her identity a secret from the rest of society hasn't been easy, and it becomes even harder in season two of Netflix's hit show.
One reason Penelope struggles to stay under the radar is the fact that her best friend, Eloise Bridgerton (Claudia Jessie), is obsessed with tracking down the real Lady Whistledown. Always chasing a lead, Eloise wants nothing more than to figure out who's behind the gossip. She thinks she's...

Netflix had a holiday treat for viewers on Christmas Day.
The streamer dropped an exciting teaser for Bridgerton Season 2, and announced a premiere date in the process.
So, when does the Regency-era drama return?
Friday, March 25, 2022 is the luky date.
All episodes of the sophomore run will be available on that date.
As previously reported, Bridgerton Season 2 will focus on Anthony Bridgerton's quest for love.
Simone Ashley (Sex Education) is set as the female lead for the delayed second season.
Here is the official logline:
From Shondaland and Creator Chris Van Dusen, the second season of Bridgerton follows Lord Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey), the eldest Bridgerton sibling and Viscount, as he sets out to find a suitable wife.
Driven by his duty to uphold the family name, Anthony’s search for a debutante who meets his impossible standards seems ill-fated until Kate (Simone Ashley) and her younger sister Edwina (Charithra Chandran) Sharma arrive from India.

Netflix's biggest series ever is closing in on a comeback.
The streamer on Saturday dropped a first-look at Bridgerton Season 2, and it's everything we hoped it would be.
Simone Ashley (Sex Education) was announced as the female lead for the second season, to star opposite Jonathan Bailey (Anthony Bridgerton).
The first teaser shows Anthony meeting with Ashley's character, and the latter is less than thrilled with Anthony's comments on his future wife.
Yes, Anthony has some high demands, and yes, there's going to be a lot of sudsy drama.
It will be fun to see this new love story take place, and it looks very different from Daphne and Simon's road to love in the first season, which is very good in our book.

Production on Bridgerton Season 2 is not going smoothly.
The Netflix juggernaut has been shut down for the second time in a week due to another positive Covid test.
Deadline first reported the news, while also confirming that there is no definite return to production.
The series was first shut down on Thursday for 24 hours after a crew member tested positive, but it was brought to a halt again on Friday due to another positive test.
The indefinite hiatus is concerning because it could suggest that a cast member tested positive for Covid-19.
Bridgerton burst onto screens in December and quickly became a huge success for Netflix, going on to snag a three-season renewal and an order for a spinoff.
Netflix declared Bridgerton to be a success story by saying it was watched by a record 82 million Netflix households around the world and towered above the streamer's other offerings.

Regé-Jean Page may not be a part of the Bridgerton Season 2 cast, but Simon Basset will not be forgotten.
Phoebe Dynevor, who plays Daphne on the Netflix hit, has opened up about how Page's exit will impact the second season.
As you will recall, Daphne and Simon were very much together at the close of Bridgerton Season 1, with the pair welcoming a newborn son into the world.
"I think he'll definitely be referred to a lot," the actress explained in a chat with The Wrap.
"I think we'll see the baby. And we'll just focus more on [Daphne's] relationship with the Bridgerton Family."
As previously reported, Bridgerton Season 2 will focus on Anthony Bridgerton's search for love.
"It's definitely different," Dynevor said of the sophomore run.
"And I've said it before, but I think the fans who have read the books and know the books are aware that every season will focus on a different sibling's journey.

Exclusive: Bridgerton has found its Kate. Simone Ashley has been tapped as the female lead opposite Jonathan Bailey in Season 2 of Netflix and Shondaland’s hugely popular Regency-era period drama series based on Julia Quinn’s romance novels.
The second season will chronicle the pursuit of a suitable marriage for the eldest Bridgerton sibling, Anthony (Bailey), as chronicled in the second book of Quinn’s Bridgerton series, The Viscount Who Loved Me.
Ashley will play Anthony’s romantic interest, Kate Sharma. Newly arrived in London, Kate is a smart, headstrong young woman who suffers no fools — Anthony Bridgerton very much included.
In Season 2, Bridgerton continues to break conventions on race. Anthony’s love interest (named Kate Sheffield in Quinn’s novel) and her family were conceived by the series’ producing team as being of Indian descent in a continuation of the reimagined, multi-racial world of...

Bridgerton's Jonathan Bailey is opening up about the second season of the Netflix show.
The series became an instant hit for the streamer upon its launch in December 2020.
In a new interview with Entertainment Weekly, Bailey, who will lead Season 2, said that "Season 2 will just be all forearms," and that he'd "draw a little smiley face" for his fans to look at.
The actor also explained that he's chatted with series creator Chris Van Dusen about where Anthony Bridgerton's storyline will go on Season 2.
"I just like to have an idea of what the emotional journey will be. But it all really made sense to me, Anthony, from the get-go," he said before opening up about how his character was perceived by his close friends when they watched the show.
"It's funny when some friends watched it, and they're like, 'Oh God, he's really obnoxious and horrible.' And it...

Bridgerton has blossomed into a royal treat for Netflix.
The series has now been named the biggest launch of any series in the history of the streamer.
In its first 28 days, Bridgerton Season 1 amassed views from 82 million Netflix households across the globe, proving to be a bigger hit than the streamer first thought.
The huge announcement comes weeks after Netflix said the show was projected to reach 63 million Netflix households in its first 28 days, so the strong word of mouth and strong reception seems to have helped the show vault even further.
The initial report put the series behind only The Witcher Season 1, Stranger Things Season 3, Money Heist Part 4, and Tiger King atop the streamer's original series launches, but now Bridgerton is well ahead of all of those shows.
It's worth noting that Netflix doesn't release every statistic with its shows, meaning that these numbers come directly from the streamer,...

Netflix’s mighty algorithms were no match for the global pop culture phenomenon that Bridgerton has become. The Regency-era romance, already renewed for a second season, not just exceeded Netflix’s original viewership projections, it blew them out of the water.
The final numbers are in, and Season 1 of Bridgerton was watched by a record 82 million households around the world (partially or in its entirety.) That is a whopping 19M households higher than the four-week projection Netflix issued 10 days into the Shondaland series’ run (63 million), at the time the streamer’s fifth biggest launch in history.
Bridgerton, whose massive wave of popularity is showing no signs of subsiding, is now Netflix’s biggest series ever by a wide margin. It pushed down to No.2 previous record holder, fantasy hit The Witcher (76M in its first 28 days).
That is an astonishing achievement, which Bridgerton celebrated with a “thank you” video to...

Netflix is in it for the long haul with its adaptation of the Bridgerton novels.
The streamer on Thursday confirmed that a second season would be made, focusing on the second novel, fueling the theory that all of the novels will be adapted.
This also means that Lord Anthony Bridgerton, played by Jonathan Bailey will take center stage in the new season.
The first season, which premiered on Netflix on Christmas Day, focused on Daphne Bridgerton’s (Phoebe Dynevor) debut on the marriage market and her explosive courtship with committed bachelor, the Duke of Hastings (played by Regé-Jean Page).
While there were some questions about when production could get underway due to the pandemic, Netflix has confirmed it will be in the spring, which could hint at another Christmas launch for the series.

The “exciting news” about Bridgerton that Netflix teased on Tuesday became a reality this morning with the long-expected second-season renewal. In the style of Shondaland’s Regency-era period drama series, created by Chris Van Dusen, the pickup was announced by none other than the series’ powerful, plugged-in narrator Lady Whistledown, voiced on the show by Julie Andrews.
The special edition of Lady Whistledown’s Society Paper (you can read it below) confirmed what has been speculated for weeks, that Season 2 will chronicle the pursuit of a suitable marriage for the eldest Bridgerton sibling, Anthony, played by Jonathan Bailey, as chronicled in the second book of Julia Quinn’s Bridgerton series, The Viscount Who Loved Me.
The gossip sheet also confirmed that Season 2 will start filming this spring in the UK.

Shonda Rhimes' first Netflix original series is already a hit.
The streamer announced Monday that the royal drama is on track to be sampled by over 63 million households in its first four weeks of release.
This would put the series behind only The Witcher Season 1, Stranger Things Season 3, Money Heist Part 4, and Tiger King atop the streamer's original series launches.
It's certainly a big number, but we need to remember that Netflix reports on these numbers based on subscribers who have watched at least two minutes of the content.
This means that it's possible only those few minutes were watched, but still, this does signal that there was a lot of sampling for the series, which bowed on Christmas Day.
"From Shondaland and Creator Chris Van Dusen, Bridgerton follows Daphne Bridgerton (Phoebe Dynevor), the eldest daughter of the powerful Bridgerton family as she makes her debut onto Regency London’s competitive marriage market,...

Netflix's Bridgerton has its very own 19th-century Gossip Girl, and Lady Whistledown, as she's called, is voiced by none other than the one-and-only Julie Andrews. Lady Whistledown narrates the entire series, and people know her as the omnipotent author behind the scandal sheets that circulate around town. She knows everything about everyone - and no, she doesn't turn out to be a male ghostwriter like Dan Humphrey. Eloise Bridgerton (Claudia Jessie) makes it her personal mission to unmask the mysterious lady, failing to realize that she's been so close to London's source of piping hot tea. Lady Whistledown, dear reader, turns out to be Eloise's dear friend Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan).
Lady Whistledown knows all. What's special about her scandal sheets is that she doesn't just post rumors. Her stories are indeed factual and true. She even spills the tea on Marina Thompson's (Ruby Barker) secret pregnancy, a reveal with,...
