5 November 2009 2:38 PM, PST | TVovermind.com | See recent TVovermind.com news »

It is a family affair tonight like always on Modern Family, were some issues come to the surface….

The episode begins as Gloria and Jay's Manny is fencing in a competition for the championship with the entire family in the stands. Cameron is annoyingly shoot a home "film" as he calls it with a long extender that is bugging Mitchell. Jay is so excited screaming and happy that Manny has a sport along with Gloria. When he gets excited, he lovingly slaps Phil all over and he has a killer grip. The kids, Alex, Luke, and Haley are arguing, Haley's phone died so Alex tells her to rub it on her head so the static recharges it. Ya right, while the kids fight Gloria and Claire are happily jumping and touching right in front of the bug-eyed Phil.

Claire and Phil try to figure out what there kids are good »

Ed Norton Not Too Enthusiastic About The Avengers?

4 November 2009 9:10 PM, PST | ScreenRant.com | See recent Screen Rant news »

This isn’t too much of an update, but it definitely follows that path of Ed Norton that we’ve become accustomed to in reference to his future with Marvel Studios as Bruce Banner/The Hulk.

Capone at Ain’t It Cool News had a chance to interview the talented and hands-on actor/producer for his work on the documentary, By the People: The Election of Barack Obama, where he was specifically asked to talk only about that project. However, Capone was able to get in a few questions for the fans and that meant a question or two about The Incredible Hulk 2 and The Avengers.

Like I said above, we seemingly get an update from Ed Norton every few weeks about his involvement with Marvel’s future films, alternating between positive and hopeful, to negative and unlikely. This week’s update fall under the latter.

Q&A: Edward Norton and the Makers of By the People: The Election of Barack Obama

3 November 2009 2:37 PM, PST | Vanity Fair | See recent Vanity Fair news »

In early 2006, filmmakers Amy Rice and Alicia Sams, along with their friend Edward Norton, the actor and activist, who had signed on as their producer, approached investors with the following idea for a documentary: chronicling the first term in office of the young, charismatic junior senator from Illinois, Barack Obama, in hopes that he might run for president in 2012. They had already been filming for a year when Obama announced his candidacy, on February 10, 2007. Their gamble paid off doubly when Obama won the democratic primary, and triply when he defeated John McCain for the presidency last November.  What could have simply been a telling story of the rise and fall of a political campaign turned into a portrait of a uniquely inspiring candidate and his phenomenally effective team. And it had a happy ending. Their film, By the People, premieres on HBO tonight. Over the course of three years, Rice »

By the People: The Election of Barack Obama doesn't use its behind-the-scenes access well

3 November 2009 6:18 AM, PST | Reality Blurred | See recent Reality Blurred news »

Good documentaries tell us--and, even better, show us--something we don't already know. This is the problem with By the People: The Election of Barack Obama, which HBO debuts tonight at 9 p.m. Et on the anniversary of Barack Obama's election to the presidency. Amy Rice and Alicia Sams' film, which is produced by Ed Norton, ends on election night 2008, and offers a solid overview of the entire campaign, and a pretty straightforward examination of »

Dr: Amy Rice and Alicia Sams' By the People: The Election of Barack Obama

3 November 2009 | ioncinema | See recent ioncinema news »

- It'll be a bittersweet viewing for plenty of folks who end up watching today's Daily Recommendation, but for the avid docu fan in me, Amy Rice and Alicia Sams' By the People: The Election of Barack Obama had me thinking of a pair of documentary films (Chris Hegedus and Da Pennebaker's The War Room and Robert Drew's Primary) that gave a far more gripping account of the campaign trail. For the Obama family and for everyone who campaigned or voted for him, By the People is a feel good memory to add to the scrapbook. Considering that this is literally yesterday's news and hasn't yet aged, the Rice-Sams card still managed to carve out an easy watch and make an overly processed in the media road to the presidency, feel somewhat dynamic. Those that don't receive enough screen time are the David Axelrods and David Plouffes of the operation, »

World Series Game Five Preview: Alanis Morissette Reminds Us They Play Baseball In Canada, Too

2 November 2009 2:21 PM, PST | MTV Newsroom | See recent MTV Newsroom news »

After a pretty exciting weekend, the World Series enters its first elimination round tonight in Philadelphia. The New York Yankees will square off against the Philadelphia Phillies in game five tonight, and the Yanks could take home their first championship in a decade and their 27th overall. So far, the at-bat music has definitely dictated the tenor of the series, and last night's heroics courtesy of Alex Rodriguez must have something to do with the fact that he adopted a Jay-z song as his entrance tune. The musical guests have fallen off a big since the second game (when Jigga and Alicia Keys elevated Yankee Stadium with a rendition of "Empire State of Mind"). The cast of "Glee" performed "The Star-Spangled Banner" over the weekend, but tonight's guest may seem a little odd but is certainly welcome. Alanis Morissette will pay a visit tonight, and she'll sing the national anthem »

Edward Norton Bests Sarah Palin's Time In His New York City Marathon Run

2 November 2009 11:30 AM, PST | MTV Movies Blog | See recent MTV Movies Blog news »

The annual New York City Marathon went down yesterday. Among the thousands of runners was "The Incredible Hulk" star Edward Norton and his new Maasai warrior friends. The group of them ran in support of the Maasai Wilderness Conservation Trust. Norton even interrupted his training last week to stop by the office for a chat about the charity stunt.

One thing we learned during Norton's visit, not seen in the video above, was his plan to beat the running time of former Vice Presidential candidate, Sarah Palin. She posted a time of just less than four hours when she ran in 2005. Norton took that as a challenge, telling MTV's Josh Horowitz "I'm gonna beat Sarah Palin like a rug!" So how did he do?

Norton probably breathed a big sigh of relief when he crossed that finish line at 3:48:01. Mainly because the 26 mile run was finally over, I expect. »

Edward Norton Says 'Nothing New' To Report With 'Incredible Hulk' And Marvel Movies

2 November 2009 8:29 AM, PST | MTV Splash Page | See recent MTV Splash Page news »

Prior to running the New York City Marathon this weekend in support of the Maasai Wilderness Conservation Trust, "Incredible Hulk" actor Edward Norton dropped by Splash Page HQ with one of the Maasai warriors who joined him on the run. While Norton had some lofty goals for the race—and the charity he's campaigning for—we had to slip in a question or two about another Norton project on our minds these days—namely, the future of the "Incredible Hulk" movie franchise.

"I will probably find out after you do," laughed Norton when we asked him if he'd heard anything new on the "Hulk" front. "Nothing new."

Norton went on to say that there was no update to offer when it came to Marvel's big-screen plans for the Green Goliath.

Last time we spoke to the actor, he said a potential return to the "Hulk" franchise was "purely a function of time, »

On TV: By the People: The Election of Barack Obama

As we approach this week's first anniversary of Barack Obama's election as the 44th President of the United States, it's a time for remembering the past, contemplating the future and, of course, exploiting whatever random Obamaesque goodness we can find in between. Hence By the People: The Election of Barack Obama, an ostensibly all-access documentary culled from two years in the shadows of the Obama campaign (and premiering Tuesday on HBO). Produced by Edward Norton and directed by the rookie tandem of Amy Rice and Alicia Sams, it's got class and scope to spare. Now if only it could find its teeth. »

"It was such a thrill but I'm burnt," Edwards told People moments after crossing the finish line. "I'm totally tired! But that's the point. I'm just so happy that I finished.
