The Story of Ruth (1960)
Very disappointing, not a biblically accurate at all
I should have read more of the reviews before I rented this. Not worth the $3.99 the only thing biblical is that she was with her mother in law Naomi. They do have a good relationship in the movie which is in the Bible. The rest was all made up by the screen writers. Not a bit of truth in it. I was really looking forward to a good movie and this was trash. The Bible gives no background to Ruth. Only that she was married to one of Naomi's sons and that she is widowed along with her and her sister in law. Boaz is always kind to her and let's her glean in his field and to make sure she is always protected. Don't waste your time or money on this trash.
Newhart (1982)
Kind of good
The first episodes with the Kirk guy were just ok. And when the ones with Micheal and Stephanie came on later they were really good and funny. A few stinkers but I watched through till the 8th season and then things just kept sliding further and further down. I don't know if Bob just checked out with the last season or what. But they were so gringe worthy I could not watch all the episodes and just fast forwarded to the last episode that I remembered was one of the best finales ever.
I think I now remember why I didn't finish watching the series. It just got to be the Micheal and Stephanie.
Loved Mary Fran. And Tom Poston. And Larry Darryl. They made the show in the last season in my opinion.

Couldn't finish it
I read a few of the positive reviews and thought I'd give it a go. But the more episodes I watched the more I had to talk myself into watching more. It just kept getting worse.
The fantasy sequences were over the top and just plain violent. It's like the writers were just plain giving up on something that could have been a good series. Like they had to move on to another series but had to quick write something to finish this one up.
And Ruby was too over the top of a character I didn't like her acting and she just started getting so annoying.
I like Kaley but doing this series makes me think what was she thinking.

Worse and worse
I get that Dana left the show in real life to spend time with her children. This show used to be funny but now it's just cringey and hard to watch. I'm fast forwarding most of the last season just to say I finished the series. And Andy all he talks about is sex, it's creepy. Jim and Andy are acting like spoiled brats and the kids have gotten so mouthy. The episodes keep getting worse and worse. My husband and used to really laugh watching the early seasons but it's like the show has jumped the shark without actually jumping the shark.
The early seasons were funny but 7 and 8 and it's downhill.
