Finally forked over $4 to Amazon to rent it. Had hoped to get for free on one of about 5 subscriptions we have but never got to. Liked it a lot. But as a big Daniel Craig / Bond fan it was hard to accept his accent. Reminded me of Kevin Spacey's Frank in House of Cards but just a bit too off and odd at times. The format of the story telling had me confused at first hunting for the mystery - I unfortunately forgot a few details. Overall, a thoroughly unlikeable set of characters otherwise - a credit to some of them like Curtis as actors. Recommend just try to not to think too much about Craig's voice.

I don't get the hate
2 December 2020
I don't seek out romantic movies but wife got to choose. I had no idea what the movie was about so the cancer reveal got my attention and didn't let go. I knew where the movie was probably heading and there were some little twists along the way. Reading most of the negative comments on here I see a lot of people projecting onto the actors or the Smith/Pinkett family and not actually the merits of the film. It was a good watch with a diverse set of characters mirror the real world - not just some WASP pocket of America.
The makeup is intense

The drama continues- and so does the deterioration of the bodies of those initially impacted. The makeup used on some individuals is eerie and even hard to look at. It's usually hard for me to be absorbed enough to ignore that everything I'm watching on tv is fake with special effects. But the makeup is that convincing and the story that captivating.

Good for young kids

Not sure how educational it is, but the first episode had a mini lesson in it about calling names and making people feel bad/lose confidence. My 2.5 and 4.5 year olds were both entertained and music wasn't bad. It was weird though. Very weird.
