Awesome show and kickass theme song
7 February 2022
I usually hate anime intros, but I will sit through the intro every time I watch an episode because the song and graphics are so good! The show itself is amazing and has such a unique and really cool plot line. Give it a try! 10/10 for me!

Started off shaky, turned into an extremely worthwhile show
17 December 2021
I started watching this show as a joke. The first few episodes of this show were kinda meh, but I kept watching. Even further into season 1, it became noticeably better in the acting and budget. CGI improved as the seasons went on, but it was never terrible. The plots are excellent in every season, and most seasons feel like 2 seasons in 1, separated in half by different plots and things the main characters have to face and figure out. It's often unpredictable in a good way and all the characters are well developed. New characters are introduced throughout the series too and even though you might hate them at first, they grow on you and become integral to the story-they aren't sloppily done.

Awesome show, confused by bad reviews
31 October 2021
The show only just premiered, it has 5 episodes as of this review. I don't know why there are so many bad reviews because the show is amazing. Acting is great, soundtrack fits well with what's going on, CGI could be a bit better but it's honestly not bad at all. Certainly not even close to sharknado level bad! The characters are very well developed. The plot is excellent and there are all sorts of twists. They definitely used their funding well and I've been absolutely loving the show so far. Excited for the next episode!

Great Movie, Hated Politics Shoved In
19 September 2021
Loved the movie, lots of funny parts, had me on my toes a lot, great plot line and excellent acting. However, there were many parts where left-leaning politics were just shoved in. White privilege, gender roles and "the patriarchy," and gun violence in America are notable mentions. I want to be able to sit down and watch a movie without other people's politics being shoved in my face. It really put a damper on a great movie and they added nothing to the plot, it was just plopped in there with no real purpose and they were never alluded to again after they were mentioned, one after another.

Great movie, but disturbing.
18 September 2021
Acting is amazing, many funny moments, characters are well developed, overall really good movie. However, the gore and deaths are really disturbing and bothered me greatly. I think it went a little too far in pushing the limits. It was a good amount of "scary," but there were many scenes that just were very extra in terms of how messed up they were. Plotline is great and it's a long movie (positive). Definitely not suitable for children, at all.

Awesome Plotline, Great Show
18 July 2021
Characters are well developed, there are lots of plot twists throughout the series, and it's generally a really good show. The main villains are also nothing like you'd expect and the lore gets deeper as you watch further into the anime. The ending is nice too. It's not too bloody, although there is some, and the only nudity is of a woman in a couple episodes, and kind of Nemo in the final episode and it's obvious when it's coming up. Really good, clean show, which I appreciate.

Love this anime!
2 April 2021
Loved the action, it was actually hard to tell who would win in many battles. Cool plot line, awesome monsters, well-developed characters, great animations. I don't know why there are so many bad reviews-it's an awesome anime and my fiancé and I watched it together and really enjoyed it. Also, there is no sex and no male nudity and very few inappropriate scenes and most of that is characters talking about other characters. Hope they make a second season!

HILARIOUS for kids and adults
7 January 2020
Warning: Spoilers
This movie was full of goofy stuff that both kids and adults can enjoy. Lots of funny and harmless stereotypes, such as a crazy cat lady and Max, the very stereotypical dog. Each animal has their own unique personality which is stuck to throughout the film, and a few new characters are introduced that were not in the previous movie. Three plots go on at the same time in the movie, but they all come together perfectly for the ending and the three plots don't crowd each other out. Gidget is especially hilarious as she infiltrates there cat lady's home and is accepted among the cats (I won't spoil how). Loved watching it on my own and then again with my mother in law, but I'm sure kids would absolutely adore this movie. The profanity is nothing to worry about. "Jerk" "dope" etc is something elementary school kids say and/or hear on a daily basis, and hearing dogs say it to each other in mostly friendly or comedic context isn't harmful. The only thing that might be more concerning is when a dog says that a puppy was "pissed" that the tiger ate a flat screen TV.

This was a bit frightening for a kids show. At the end, the "bad guy" had a gun and was going to shoot one or all of the animals there, but a car hit him before he could do anything. Really unexpected for a kids movie. He also had a taser not long before that which he was going to hurt the tiger with to force him to do tricks. This movie might really scare kids away from the circus due to the intensity of the bad character ( a ringmaster), his wolves, and just the fear associated with the circus in this movie.

Gnome Alone (2017)

Starts lame, grows on you
7 January 2020
It starts out with essentially a different take on mean girls. New girl moves somewhere, meets popular kids, they tell her to stay away from the nerd she just met, she tries to appease them and make them her friends. Then the gnomes come in and it starts really slow for at least the first 30-45 minutes and it's kind of a bore to watch. After you get past the first half of the movie, everything livens up a bit and it's a lot more entertaining. It would probably be fun for a kid to watch because of the little monsters (Troggs), and the very simplistic language of the movie. Overall, if the beginning were a little less cliché and if they had even just made the movie a little shorter and cut out some of the first half, it would have been a lot better. I would watch again, but I would probably skip ahead to the middle area of the film.

Good themes include meeting friends for how they treat you rather than how "cool" they are and the importance of responsibility even when you don't realize the significance of a choice you made. Good for older kids around middle school age and relatable for middle schoolers, not as much for younger kids, but it could still be fun for the little ones to watch. Very clean. No nudity or sex at all other than the few things listed in the parent guide (worst thing was a kid sliding down a banister and hitting his crotch on the post at the end-no one even commented on it in the movie). Plenty of good parts, really great movie once you get past the beginning.

3Below: Tales of Arcadia (2018–2019)

Not too many spoilers; Best show
14 November 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Does, the only 2 kind of spoilers I will give in this entire review are 1) some people die and 2) Sometimes the bad guys do win the battle in this show. This was literally one of my favorite shows of all time. I haven't seen Trollhunters, but I will be watching it soon thanks to 3Below. The character development was amazing and the storyline was great. The writers kept me on my toes as I watched, and the unexpected DOES happen, unlike in many animated shows. Characters die: tragically, heroically, and sadly. The bad guy does win sometimes, a lot of times actually, and the main characters are always a couple steps behind as everyone, so it seems, is out to get them. There are many near misses, and while some things are predictable, many things are not. I won't give any specific spoilers here, but there were several instances where the bad guys did get what they wanted, which really surprised me as this isn't the way it ever goes with these shows. The small amount of romance in the show was perfect enough to make it sweet, but there was nothing inappropriate and there wasn't really any gore since the main characters were made of biotech kind of bodies. There was no cussing, and other than some fart jokes, most related to the dog or a stinky alien, the humor wasn't cringey or boring. I got my fiancé, who doesn't particularly like most animated shows and films, to watch with me and he loved it, binge watching the whole series in a couple nights. I showed it to my little sister in middle school who watched it all in a couple nights, and my Boomer mom and future mother-in-law enjoyed what parts they watched too. This is really a fun show for the whole family, although maybe not for kids who are too young or have serious sensitivities with death. Like I said, some characters do die, so that is an emotional thing for many kids, but it can be a teaching point about how some people around our world do experience things like Aja and Krel did in the show. 10/10 and can't wait for the next part of the Arcadia series!

The Silence (II) (2019)
6/10
Ending was rushed
8 November 2019
Normally I really like almost every movie I choose to watch, and I'm not a harsh critic. The acting in this movie was great in my opinion, it was enjoyable, and the plot copied a little off the recent movie"A Quiet Place." However it was still pretty good-until the end. A random new character pops up, there's some new weird mysterious aspect to the movie that just felt forced. If this were a TV show and not a movie, then this new character wouldn't have been a problem; he would've added a lot to the plot line and made it more interesting, giving the show room to grow. However, being that this was a movie and only an hour and a half long at that, this new character's exit had to be rushed in a way that honestly was not very well blended with the movie. Then after the exit of this one character, there was one more bit of plot shoved into the last 3 minutes or so of the movie. The romance (not a spoiler, it's obvious from the first 10 mins of the movie) between the girl main character and this guy, Rob, was a sweet innocent addition to the plot, but the way this ending was shoved into the movie, it just didn't tie up the loose ends nicely and made everything seem squashed. If they had managed their movie time better, made this into a show, or at least left room for a sequel, then it would've been great.

Needs a sequel
9 August 2019
Warning: Spoilers
This movie was absolutely recommended for those who enjoy movies like Mortal Engines. However, I definitely don't recommend it for young children because there are a number of frightening and intense scenes with cyborgs being cut apart or having their arms ripped off etc and a few scary death related scenes toward the end of the movie, one with blood. Other than that, the movie has a great female lead, lots of well-developed characters, an air of mystery shrouding the main character as she discovers who she is, and several heartwarming moments as well. The big criticism I have with this movie is this: I'm pretty sure they're not making a sequel because Disney bought out Fox, and the movie ends at essentially a turning point where a sequel is needed to continue. It's kind of like how The Incredibles left off right at a second villain and it was a cliff hanger? Only worse, because the end of Alita is like reading one book/watching one movie in a trilogy such as Divergent or The Hunger Games, but knowing there May not be a sequel or continuation of the film.

Emotional and wonderful movie with minimal bad stuff
30 December 2018
Overall wonderful movie, very empowering and motivational. Some scenes may be frightening or intense for young children, and the events that happen may be difficult for them to understand. Clean of blood and bodily fluids, no extreme graphics, and one curse word throughout the whole movie with minimal nudity.

Notable events: Head and shoulders of naked woman in bath tub. Naked man statue in one scene in the back; you cannot see the junk at first so there's time to block the screen before it comes into view. A few scenes with a shirtless teen boy, and a few with a boy wearing short shorts. No sex at all. One photo of a married couple kissing at the end of the movie.

One f word at 1:10:07.
