We Have Always Lived in the Castle (2018)
Failed potential
I feel like this movie could have been so much more than it was regarding plotline mostly. This could have been executed so much better which would have made it a better movie since the casting was great. I guess there wasn't really much going on and that's okay in some instances but with this I don't think it worked much. I didn't feel any connections that would stay with me even after watching the film.
American Horror Story (2011)
Conflicted
It's hard to rate the show since each season is different for me taste wise. I think the first and second season was brilliant but somehow it just went downhill from there. The last few seasons do have their merits but as a whole it drags down the rating from 10 stars to 8 which is still high. We'll see where it goes.
Ready or Not (2019)
Pretty good
Loved the movie. It was something a little different and was a refreshing watch. There was a lot of everything including humor, thrill, romance, family drama, etc. I enjoyed my time very much at the cinema. Never was I bored. The ending was very satisfying which is something not a lot of movies have in my opinion.
Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark (2019)
Better than expected
I was expecting something similar to R L Stine's Goosbumps but got something leaning more towards IT. I enjoyed this movie overall. It wasn't perfect and there was a lot I didn't understand but it was decent. It spooked me and that's really all I came for.
Jin xiu Wei Yang (2016)
Unrealistic
The amount of times our main character is in danger or gets framed then conviently is saved at the right moment is soooo unbelievable. She's also super smart and is desired by a ton of guys which is just so uhhhh. There's very minimal faults to her really. The drama really is an ongoing story of a girl who is in danger then gets saved then repeats that the whole time. I will say though that the drama gets better. Story is more interesting but really not that unique. Overall, it was an enjoyable watch.
Us (2019)
Not that great
Watching the trailer is wayyyyy better than the actual film. I was under the impression that this movie was going to be about people fighting themselves, which is was but I mean like literally fight themselves, which you can't win because everything that you do is predicted.
This movie fell so flat because of the plot. It started out fine but got kind of messed up. There was a lot of confusing things and stuff that just didn't line up. I left the theatre very disappointed. This is the kind of film that I will forget. Or remember as a creepy movie that makes no sense.
The Spanish Princess (2019)
GOOD STORY AND CHARACTERS
The Spanish Princess is based on actual history, depicting the relationship and origin of Catherine of Aragon and Henrry VIII. Honestly, I'd say this show was a great watch. Although there were some historical inaccuracies, overall the show did a great job in casting and moving the story along at a good pace so that viewers get the full experience and information about the time period.
Catherine is a really strong character and I admire that about her. I also really like the fact that this show goes on with the White Princess and the White Queen series. The costumes are stunning and The setting creates a good mood.
I'd say this show was great and really portrayed everything well. The struggles that the characters face kind of tie in with our time and really shows how the problems of the time have sort of survived for years and years. It's more relatable that way and I think that's what makes this show so intriguing.
Most things were good and I would definitely recommend to those who like a historical show that has tension, romance, greed, and political intrigue.
