F Is for Family (2015–2021)

Dated, in all the right ways
15 December 2018
If you ever wondered what it would be like to be a fly on the wall in a suburban working class, post war bygone era, watch this, with much amusement.

Issues of the day are hit on with a respectful touch while remaining entertaining and enjoyable along the way. Teenage angst, the plight of the working family, casual racism and sexism. All prevelant issues of the time. And yet presented in such a way as to be serious but amusing throughout. Seasons 1 and 2 deliver nicely.

Season 3 awaited eagerly. Watch this space.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine (2013–2021)

Comedic perfection.
12 December 2018
It's too difficult to know where to begin throwing accolades and adulation at Brooklyn 99.

There's a lovely lightheartedness wonderfully woven throughout the show which paints a human side to law enforcement often forgotten or simply overlooked.

The cast of Terry Crews, Andy Samberg and Andre Braugher (to name a few) embrace and portray their characters so well at times it is very easy to forget that the roles are not the actors themselves and that Samberg doesn't moonlight as a cop at the weekends.

If you've ever wondered what it's like to be a fly on a wall in a Police station and see the human side of the shield for what it really is, there's no better stop than the nine nine.

The hype was bigger than the end product
12 December 2018
For a show that was hyped by Netflix heavily in the run up to its release, the final product lacked considerably in appeal.

The season was finished largely by the viewer on Autopilot almost a "I've started this so I'll finish it" objective rather than enjoyment.

The episodes themselves felt drawn out and lack lustre and often times disjointed. If you're in to the supernatural, you could most likely do better than this. Perhaps season two might deliver better but between over acting on some parts and under acting on others, it would take magic to breath life into this dead witches tale.

Scrubs (2001–2010)

Beautiful, funny and often inspired
12 December 2018
There's very few shows that can can maintain a healthy balance of not taking itself seriously while occasionally touching on a nerve that makes you question the lightheartedness of it an insightful and intelligent way.

Scrubs cast manages this wonderfully and it is no surprise many of that cast have enjoyed a prosperous career going forth.

Season one might be a bit rough around the edges while the show was refining itself however, Scrubs will have you laugh, cry and think and you'll adore every second.

Wonderfully confusing
10 December 2018
There's something wonderful about this cartoon in the way it presents itself and is animated.

The plot is at times confusing often leading you to wonder where on earth it's going and how it's going to get there and that alone captivates you right up to the end at which point you wonder how you got there.

An enjoyable journey, whimsical and innocent. One to watch if light hearted animation is your thing.
