Moshari (2022)

Outstanding!!!

An another outstanding piece of work by Nuhash Humayun. This was short and crisp. The concept of the plot was fully exploited by the director.

The term "Moshari" means mosquito net. It was kind of shown as a shield from those vampires that only comes at night (like mosquitos). It had a bit of social structure and political flavours within it too. But the prime thing was the love between the siblings well portrayed by the actors.

The lighting!! What a work of set lighting there was!! I was really amazed! The pan out shot taken with the bed covered with moshari looked really good with a slight green dim light just showing what the viewers need to see. The scene where the elder sister goes to find the younger one and there was a yellow light on the face of Suraya Binte Kamal. I looked so good! Also the sound design paired with the lighting when the " vampires" came were really good. I haven't seen very few (if not none) works like this in Bengali.

The horror element was put just the right amount. Not more, not any less. The jumpscares were effective (it was 1 or 2 in total). And lets not talk about the last scene.

Had low expectations, wasn't disappointed.

After the first movie " The Orphan " I was quite eager to know about the beginning of Esther, how she came up to be who she is- you know the stuffs you have in a origin film. But this doesn't seem to be like that at all.

First of all, the movie doesnt even begin from the beginning in Esther's perspective. She was shown to be in a mental hospital and doctors mention her to be the most dangerous patient ever (we dont know why and how she was called that). Why should we not know why she was a dangerous patient? It was the "first kill" after all.

I often had the feeling of her not being a mental patient but just a killer who likes to kill, at least at the first. I am also ignoring all the small inconsistencies that were spread throughout the film.

Forget the haters! Go Watch the Movie!

Its a good movie indeed. Perhaps one of the best Bangladeshi films made this year.

Shariful Raz was phenomenal paired with Bidya Sinha Mim. Siam did well with his part. The direction was good; keeping in mind the weight of the project he had to work with. He didn't disappoint indeed.

This movie relied on heavy music to potray emotions into audiences mind. So dont wait for it to watch at home. Its full potential can be experienced at the hall.

Personally I thought there shouldve been more technical stuffs regarding football as it was mainly a sports genre film. Also, the hype of the bicycle kick created by the trailer shouldve been exploited more.

All in all, certainly a watchable film.

Worth watching
12 August 2022
So I went to cinema to watch Poran. I had no knowledge of the real incident it is based upon. After first few scenes, it was clear that the plot and acting are the two biggest carrying factors of this film. And it was true. Thats why a few discrepancies in voice dubbing and colors were ignorable. Camerawork was overall. I would suggest watching it for the plot.

Awesome!

The first half was 10/10. Then the story kind of started to go here and there. It was not sure where it was going but then in the last 30 minutes it was back in track.

Overall, its really good movie. The casting, technical works, actings were all top notch.

I slightly thought it wouldve been better if the runtime were a bit longer at the end.

Breaking Bad of Bangladesh

I am constantly being amazed by the works our artists are doing. A quality work indeed. An awesome series to watch. It was like breaking bad happening in the Bangladeshi context. Worth watching this.
