After Life

Breathtaking!
7 May 2019
Binge worthy drama sitcom. Gervais at his best. The sensitive subject of grief and loss was heartfelt. I was moved by the storyline, the characters that "Tony" interacted with, all very relatable. This series was beautifully shot, paired with a wonderful music score, executed perfectly by the actors casted. Genius, a masterpiece.

Not bad as others make out

This was an enjoyable slow paced thriller. I enjoyed the cinematography more than anything else in the movie. The story is predictable, for an old geezer like myself, but for those new to the genre this movie would be thrilling.
Mercy Black
(2019)
Creepy story telling
19 April 2019
I enjoyed this movie, a modern horror with a shocking twist at the end. Creepy as hell Mercy Black is comparable to Slenderman urban legend. I wasn't expecting this movie to be as good as it is based on the negative reviews, but believe me there are some edge of the seat moments. The ending was so surprising and shocking. Worth watching.
A Dark Place
(2018)
Powerful drama
14 April 2019
I highly recommend this small town drama about a sanitation worker named Donnie, who was convinced intuitively that there is more to the drowning of 6 years old Tyler. The journey to the climatic ending was slow but worth it. Good acting with great musical scores and the sensitive handling of "Donnie" who appears to be on the autism spectrum, brought me to tears a few times. A very emotional journey indeed.
The Last Boy

Interesting slow drama not for everyone.

I enjoyed this slow paced post apocalyptic drama; where there are echoes of The bird Box and A quiet Place. Interesting story telling... Stonehenge .. place where wish come true... immortality or rather life after death... portals between life and death and above all love.. well done!!
Night Shift
(V) (2018)
Intriguing hotel horror a bit slow
21 December 2018
Nighshift starts off slow and ordinary until a quarter into the movie. The pace picks up when strange events propels Amy to believe that what is happening is a matter of life and death. I am glad I continued on with the movie as the beginning was painful, but then the movie redeems itself to a nice twist in the end. Movie is not for everybody, but if you like dark slow, atmospheric movies, think triangle, then this is for you.
Tyrel
(2018)
Slice of life drama interesting ride
9 December 2018
Tyrel is the only black male in a group of white birthday revellers in a secluded cabin.
The movie shows Tyrel's uneasiness in being amongst this group, having probably never been exposed to such group before. As the movie unfolds, Tyrel got drunk and lost all inhibition and there we see the ugly side of someone not belonging in a group situation. Interesting look at the differences of culture, through music and substance abuse, ultimately showing that we are more alike than not.

Trippy 70's nostalgia LSD fueled horror
18 November 2018
Ha ha I had a trip watching this movie, the trippy circus music, visually stunning cinematography which must be watched whilst under the influence of something/anything. If not under the influence you will find this movie loud pretentious and overbearing not to mention boring. Fun art house movie an ode to the 70's style of horror. Good attempt at a remake.
Cam
(2018)
Intriguing eye candy thriller
18 November 2018
Cam is an erotic psychological thriller about identity theft. The main character's anguish at her loss of identity is believable as this can happen to just about anyone in this day and age. Good waste of time watching this movie!

Dark Dreary Depressing so much potential
6 November 2018
Atmospheric movie, great acting, good musical scores however not very well executed in terms of great story telling. There were many confusing moments, boring noir scenes, and dark depressing feeling of hopelessness, which I understand is the aim of the producers. However the confusingness of the whole ordeal left much to be desired.

A period horror story set in an isolated community. refreshingly different. Not for everybody as the story is a slow burn to a very interesting finale. Great atmospheric music Great acting Great everything. Must watch for those that like intelligent movies.
