The Power of the Dog (2021)
TikTok world, this film is not for you
Amazing is the only word. When a film(not a movie) haunts you days later it truly is art.
I fell in love with Campion and The Piano. This is just as amazing and haunting.
All I can say is, I will be dissecting this film( reference to Pete) for a long while.
Please be patient and give it a go.
All Oscars for this winner please.
Inventing Anna (2022)
You want to hate it but, it's Julia!
Let's see; fake heiress, New York money and insta worthy. What's not to love? Well, the annoying factor is just too much.
I knew when I first heard this story it would become huge. But, as a reasonably intelligent person I am still waiting for the real documentary to come out. This is entertainment first and foremost. This is also Julia Garner who is amazing!
I'll be following where this goes but from a distance.
The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window (2022)
What the cuss did I just watch?
Announcement; don't drink and combine meds!
This is not satire, if you want that watch Don't look up. This is a horrible train wreck you can't not look at.
I gave this 2 stars just because I started watching it and said no! Not going to watch this...then it called me back for some reason.
But, come on really? First how is she living in a gorgeous house like that alone? How does she drink so much and not just pass out and look like hell the next day?
Obviously the intention is to continue with Anna's story. My suggestion to Anna, get a real life.
The Many Saints of Newark (2021)
So much hype! So disappointing
As a huge Sopranos fan I was so excited to hear about the prequel and esp with Gandolfinis son.
The movie is not about Tony at all! I feel like half the movie was left on the cutting room floor and that may have been the good half.
Maybe we could get a redo or a next chapter that actually is about Tony.
Hacks (2021)
Random watch, now I'm Hooked!
Watched just out of random boredom and wow! Now I can't wait for the next episodes.
Love love Jean Smart, she's truly perfect as Debra.
Tell Me Your Secrets (2021)
Hooked me sorta, felt messy and all over the place
Too many holes like others say. John felt a bit of a stretch and so much wrapped on that.
IF there is a second season it won't be my priority sadly.
Amy Brennamen is exceptional.
The Flight Attendant (2020)
Ok, darn it, it's very good!
I went into this with below zero expectations, ok maybe a negative expectation. It's quirky, cute, fun and heart breaking. Yes! I want to see more of this character. To me that's a truth of a good story.
American Honey (2016)
I wanted it to be so much better
I am 100% a independent/low budget film fan. This film starts with so much potential. Sadly it begins to run on like a long repetitive sentence with no point.
I did love the character of Star, I feel like the audience missed so much about this wonderful, truly sensitive character.
I had to finish it though, unfortunately it was jumping ahead at 10sec frames just to get to a pointless conclusion.
Marcella (2016)
Loved season 1 But, WTF was with season 2??
I really was excited to season a season 2 of Marcella. As I began to watch season 2 I had to wonder where is this going?
It feels very choppy and trying to make connections with characters was very difficult. Honestly, some characters felt pointless.
The final episode, while it was tense and riveting I need to ask.....Why?
Are we to believe that she is to now to become some 'jokeresk' mercenary?
IF there is a season 3 I really hope they can get back to reality.
