The Good Wife: The Last Call (2014)
This one really got me
I'm trying hard to rationalize it, but I couldn't stop welling up the last 15 minutes of the chapter. I guess the previous chapter was too shocking to react, to really get what happened. This one is far less action and much more focused on the impacts and on how each character deals (or doesn't) with them.
The dialogues, the sequences, the silent close-ups... All mostly serene and subdued, not aimed for easy, simple emotion-grabbing, but ending up deep within me. I liked that they didn't skip the contradictions of the characters, that made them very real.
It will be hard keeping up with this, I'll watch how it plays out.

Almodóvar goes to South Korea
I won't go into much details here, but from the first few minutes I was very, very strongly reminded of some Almodóvar's movies ("¿Qué he hecho yo para merecer esto", "Laberinto de pasiones", "Mujeres al borde de un ataque de nervios" come immediately to mind). The story not quite making sense, the intense focus on the characters and their reactions and interactions, small details shown in close-ups, an old song played several times...
Sometimes I found it a bit slow going and surely I missed lots of South Korean cultural references that didn't mean that much to me, or quite made sense, but all in all, I quite enjoyed it. (It is exactly the same with most Almodóvar movies, there are bits I don't like or don't understand, and there are scenes which absolutely blow me out and more than compensate overall).
