My Southern Family Christmas (2022)
Jaicy Elliot is my new favorite actor!
I've seen two of her movies so far and can't wait to see her in more. She is like a breath of fresh air in a very jaded (to me) Hollywood.
The Christmas story was good - I'm right into Louisiana at the moment - reading a lot of Jana Deleon and Erin Nicholas. It's a fascinating area of the United States for those who live on the other side of the world. Alligators, a bayou, gumbo, beignets and Pere Noel - who this movie is actually about.
The relationships that develop as the movie unfolds are heart warming - especially at this time of the year.
Jaicy Elliot has a special understated extraordinary acting talent that makes it hard to take your eyes off the screen. I loved this movie!
A Christmas Open House (2022)
My favorite Christmas movie so far! Loved the guest stars!
Loved the two lead actors and Ben and Erin Napier, as well, really made the whole movie shine. It was fun to see Ben's workshop and the pieces he and Erin, in character, designed for the movie.
The house update was fun to watch as was the growing chemistry between the two leads. The small town setting was relaxing compared to so many movies set in a bustling big traffic filled city.
The music choices were charming as well instead of the jangling overly loud new wave type music that other shows put over the top of dialogue.
I've watched all this season's holiday movies and this one has been the best. I really enjoyed it.
When Sharks Attack (2013)
Ridiculous and just plain silly
Hey! Start watching Instagram feeds like Scott Fairchild and Themalibuartist instead of silly shows like this. Just like the movie Jaws and the Australian press - this show is all sensationalism. Sharks live in the ocean and are an important piece of the ecosystem.
Until drones actually demonstrated that sharks and surfers/swimmers/stand up paddlers have actually always been together in the ocean, no one realised how often interactions occur with thousands of unseen (except for from an occasional drone) interactions daily!
Shows like this, along with the Australian press, use words like "monster" to persuade viewers that a shark in the water (where they live) is "instant death" for humans. Get real!
Inn the Works (2021)
Bring on season 2!
I watch all the house shows and this was a really good one! Love the whole family participation and the location and scenery are great to see. I was impressed with the quality of the show and can't wait to see more.
Building Roots (2022)
Refreshing to see natural people for a change.
If you are looking for stilettos, overly tight skirts, and loud squeals from bossy designers then this isn't for you.
Instead there's Colorado scenery, lots of nature, and unassuming hosts who produce good, well finished designs.
I was very pleasantly surprised and am enjoying this show.
Outback Car Hunters (2021)
Jeremy Clarkson this is how you do it!
Best car show in ages. Great scenery of the Australian outback. There's true blue Aussie characters, interesting old cars, and the really good point?
They actually restore the cars or get them restored! I'm impressed with the thought and the work that into making this show.
Bring on season 2! There must be a heap of barn or desert finds still out there waiting.
Sugar Plum Twist (2021)
A very refreshing change!
Loved it. As I now live in a multicultural country, Australia, I'm always puzzled by the usually narrow casting choices in these movies. Do they truly represent the US culture? That's not how I remember it from my younger days.
Lovely to see more real people and a wider range of characters. Bravo Hallmark!
The Hating Game (2021)
Excellent movie! As good as the book!
Perfectly cast, especially the two leads. Great work on the book. Sally Thorne. Please write more and get them made into movies like this. All the cast was well chosen. It's the best movie I've seen in ages. Well done!
A Castle for Christmas (2021)
A breath of fresh Scottish air - in a movie!
Loved it. It was right up my alley. Great scenery. Good to see Brooke and Drew looking fabulous. The Scottish castle setting was perfect.
I really enjoyed this story. It's not easy to find a Christmas movie with actors I recognise and who aren't supposed to be in their early 20s, tottering about on stilettos in a small Maine town.
Brooke in her Ugg boots traipsing through her castle in search of the kitchen for a cup of tea - is a hoot!
Shortbread, whiskey, highland cattle, Scottish ballads - honestly, it was a really good watch. Congrats to whoever is responsible for this! 👏🏻👏🏻
Fisk (2021)
What a gem!
I was going to write that it's as good as as Rosehaven - but it's actually better.
Very clever Aussie humour. A lucky find!
Alex Rider (2020)
Loved it!
I've read the books and listened to the audio books. I did get a shock at first with the differences but quickly adjusted and then really enjoyed the entire 8 episodes.
I'm keenly waiting for season 2.
Bizaardvark (2016)
A lot of fun
Clever writing. Fun show. Entertaining. I'm enjoying it. Keep them coming!
