Great! And even better for fans of the series!
4 May 2007
First off i'd just like to say how much i love the TV show. Its funny, offensive and daring.

The movie brings back the rag tag team of cops from Reno, Nevada and thrusts them into their biggest assignment yet. Policing Miami! When Dangle and co are invited to a police convention their passes or hotel keys are not there so they check into a seedy hotel. When they go back to the convention they see that the whole place has been quarantined and they are the only cops in Miami.

There's an old face for fans of the series (i won't ruin the surprise). There's also a scarface wannabe who keeps kidnapping Jones and Garcia! Overall this is a very funny movie and even funnier for fans of the series. A few celebrity cameos too including Duane 'The Rock' Johnson and Danny DeVito. I give it an 8 out of 10.

Brilliant!
26 April 2007
A story about a young boy called Shaun growing up in the 80's, dealing with his dads death and bullies he befriends a group of skinheads who take him in and show him the world of drink, girls and drugs. One of the gangs (Woody) mates has just came out of prison and decides to rally the boys together to form a nationalist gang. This gang want nothing but to have only English people in England. Shaun then witnesses events that will scar him for life. He has a love interest called Smell (Michelle rhymes with Smell doesn't it?) The story is based on director Shane Meadows own experiences growing up.

Overall it is a brilliant film with some harsh reality thrown into the mix. I give it a very well deserving 10 out of 10. Bravo Shane Meadows.

Great Film
20 April 2007
Based on actual events that took place in 1999, the film takes place around a teenager called Zack Mazurski (Anton Yelchin) who has been kidnapped by Johnny Truelove (Emile Hirsch) because Zacks brother, Nazi loving Jake Mazurski (Ben Foster) owes Truelove money. Truelove is based on the youngest ever person to make the FBI's most wanted list.

While kidnapped, Zack experiences parties, drugs and a virginity busting threesome in a swimming pool with two babes. Truelove spends most of the film wondering what to do with Zack while Frankie (A surprisingly good Justing Timberlake) looks after him. I'm not going to tell you the outcome because that will spoil it but it's really moving. Also in the movie are Bruce Willis Sonny Truelove (Johnnys dad), Sharon Stone as Olivia Mazurski (Zacks Mum) and Chris Marquette (Keith Stratten).

I really enjoyed this film, it has an amazing soundtrack (Eminem, DMX etc.) and some good performances with a few laughs along the way. I give it a solid 8/10!

Wild Hogs (2007)

Good but not great
19 April 2007
Warning: Spoilers
A group of suburban, middle aged men decide to take a cross country motorbike ride because they feel they are getting too old. Doug (Tim Allen), Woody (John Travolta), Dudley (William H Macy) and Bobby (Martin Lawrence) are a group of friends who have made their own gang up, The Wild Hogs.

Whilst on this trip they bump into a gay policeman (A hilarious, scene stealing John C McGinley), They burn their tent down and manage to upset a group of bikers called the 'Del Fuegos'. They meet the Del Fuegos whilst stopping at a roadside biker bar. The legendary Ray Liotta is their gang leader and manages to look years younger ( he is 52 and he looks about 20). The Fuegos steal Dudley's bike so Woody goes to retrieve it. Before he gets it back he cuts the brake cables on all of the Fuegos bikes and whilst he is riding off he sees the bar blow up.

After this the Del Fuegos are really ticked off so they decide to hunt the hogs down.

This is a good movie but not great. I'll give it a 7/10.

Kaboom!
17 April 2007
Sargeant Bob Lee Swagger is a scout sniper for the US army but after being screwed over by his government and losing his best friend in the process, he retires to an isolated cabin in the woods with only his beer fetching dog as company. After a threat is made against the president, Swagger is called in to scope the area to find the shooter. When he is set up once more by the government, he is forced to go on the run and find the real shooter. Enjoying lots of killing in the process! After this it is non-stop action. Explosions, gun fights and car chases. Shooter is a high octane thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seats. 8/10

The sun is dying out, and only a team of 8 scientists and astronauts can reignite it.

Another gem from Danny Boyle (Trainspotting, 28 days later). It starts out on board the Icarus 2, a spaceship attached to an atom bomb the size of Manhattan Island. The crew are going about their tasks normally, with the odd argument here and there, when they receive a distress signal from Icarus 1 (the ship that attempted this mission before I2). They go to investigate and thats when this film turns from a spectacular sci-fi film, into a teen slasher flick. Thats all i'm going to say because i've been sat here for about an hour trying to figure out how to explain this film without spoilers. I give the first two thirds of the movie a 9/10, but because of the last third i will slide it down to a 6/10.

Hilarious!

Warning: Spoilers
Just been to see 'Blades of Glory' and have to say it is hilarious! Pretty simple plot. Jon Heder (Napoleon Dynamite) and Will Ferrel (Anchorman) star as Jimmy MacElroy and Chazz Michael Micheals, Two competing figure skaters who end up getting disqualified after a brawl at the winners podium. Three and a half years later and Jimmy works in a sporting goods store, while Chazz is a evil wizard (in a kids ice skating show). Jimmys stalker (Hector) finds a loophole in the rule book that lets Jimmy and Chazz compete together in the couples division.

The couples champions brother and sister Stranz and Fairchild Van Waldenberg (Real life couple Amy Poehler and Will Arnett) are not happy about the decision to let Chazz and Jimmy compete in their division and resort to spying. They get their sister Katie (Jenna Fischer) to be their spy.

I'm gonna leave it at that or i will spoil it for you. I give it a solid 9/10. It's really funny and got some great moves on the ice (especially 'The Iron Mantis').

OK i guess!
6 April 2007
There is evidence to suggest that children are highly susceptible to paranormal phenomena. They see what adults cannot. They believe what adults deny. And they are trying to warn us.

This film is about a family who have relocated from Chicago to some small farming town. They move into a house where a family used to live but left for no reason 5 years earlier. The baby son (Ben) starts seeing things around the house and is fascinated by them. Then an experience which Jess (the daughter) has leads her to believe something strange is going on. Cue lots of cheap tacky jumpy scenes (mostly involving crows and zombie look-a-like ghosts).

The film has a twist at the end but it feels like the twist would be better suited in a different movie. Overall i give the movie 6/10, the first few jumps are a great laugh but after a dozen or so, they start to get even more tackier.

He's Baaack!
1 April 2007
In this film Mr Bean finds himself winning a local church raffle and the hapless idiot embarks on a journey to France. While in France, Bean gets into all sorts of trouble, from getting his tie stuck in a vending machine to ordering a seafood platter by mistake. About to get on the train, Bean asks a stranger to camcord him walking onto the train which takes about 4 takes. When he's finally done, Bean gets onto the train but the doors close on the stranger. Bean learns that the strangers son is still on board and takes it upon himself to care for the child until he reunites with his father. there is a funny "Busking scene" when Bean and the boy have to make money. This film isn't as good as the first movie or the series but it will put a smile on your face if you choose to see it. i give it a solid 7/10.

I Want Carmen Electra!
28 March 2007
This is a great British comedy about a couple of film students (Joe and Baggy) who try and get their script "The Love Storm". After going to a few production companies they arrive at an adult film company run by Doug (Eddie Marsan). Joe decides to make the movie into an erotic movie and tries to hire the biggest name in porn - Candy Fiveways (played by Carmen Electra).

Surprisingly there is no nudity in this film but there are quite a few funny scenes. One involves an actor and lets just say thank god for wet wipes. Another involves an Asian babe and ping pong balls. Jimmy Carr and Mackenzie Crook provide some decent scenes between them too.

This is a real British feel good comedy and provides all that is needed for this type of film. I give it 8/10.

Hot Fuzz (2007)

Best Film Of 2007 So Far!
28 March 2007
Hot Fuzz comes to us from the genius's behind "Shaun Of The Dead" (Edgar Wright and Simon Pegg). It stars Pegg as Nicholas Angel, a London Policeman Officer whos arrest rate is 200% above anyone else. So the Chief Constable (Bill Nighy) sends him to be a Sargeant in the sleepy little village of Sandford - The safest village in Britain. There he meets Danny Butterman (Nick Frost) who is a policeman. Danny is an action fanatic who, when he learns about Angels stabbing, starts to look upto him. When strange things start to happen in Sandford, Nick decides he has got to bust things wide open. This film has an all-star British cast: Jim Broadbent(Only Fools And Horses, The Borrowers), Steve Coogan(Alan Partridge, Saxondale), Paddy Considine(24 Hour Party People, Stoned), Edwood Woodward(The Wicker Man), Martin Freeman(Confetti, The Office), Rafe Spall(Shaun Of The Dead, Green Street) and Ex James Bond Timothy Dalton as an amazing baddie. Not as good as SOTD but still a great laugh and pretty dark at times. 10/10. Yeah Boi!

Frank Miller Has Done It Again!
28 March 2007
This is truly a work of art, the acting, the direction, the story, everything is put in place just right. Gerard Butler stars as Sparta King Leonidas. Spartans were supposedly the strongest soldiers in the world (Descended from Hercules himself) .He is put in a very difficult situation when Persian messengers come and tell them that they have to surrender or be enslaved and die. King Leonidas consults the Oracle about going to war but the Oracle forbids it. Leonidas plans to go to war anyway and gathers a 300 strong army captained by, well captain lol. Leonidas, Captain and the army travel north to the hot gates. Along the way they are joined by the Arcadions, who want to help the Spartans. When they arrive at the hot gates they see the Persian army in all of its glory (Commanded by "God King" Xerxes) and the battle ensues. I won't go any further than that as i will probably spoil it for you. 10/10. He done it with Sin City and Frank Miller has done it again. One more thing to say... Madness! THIS IS SPARTA!

Good Old Fashioned Fun!
28 March 2007
Warning: Spoilers
This film is about a group of national guards in training and end up in a military base called "Sector 16". When they arrive there, there is no sign of life until the group see a flash from a signal mirror on the top of the moutain. The group go to investigate while 2 of them stay back at camp. While waiting, one of the two needs the toilet so he goes and a hand comes from the toilet (quite a funny scene), it turns out there is a man inside the port-a-potty. The man says two words - They're Here! After this moment the story starts to pick up, We start to discover the malicious cannibals hiding in the mines below the mountains. This film is really gory and there is also a rape scene. It isn't exactly Oscar material but its good, old fashioned violence. I give it 7/10. Not for the screamish!

Amazin
19 November 2006
I caught this at an advanced screening and i have to say that this is a contender for film of the year. The shear stupidity and cutting edge soundtrack bring this film into my top 5 list. The story starts out with a young JB and him living with his religious family, he escapes his father with the help of Dio and embarks to find a rock mentor. As he grows older (Jack Black) he meets KG (Kyle Gass), a rocking, lying guitar player in Venice beach. They come to here about a magical pick called the pick of destiny. They embark on a quest to find the pick and on the way get into all kinds of trouble. JB gets high on magic mushrooms and meets sasquatch, KG goes to a fraternity party. The film has some amazing cameo appearances such as meatloaf (JBs Father), Ben Stiller (Guitar store worker) and Tim Robbins as a crippled foreigner. It is the story of the rise of Tenacious D and how they came about. Overall i gave this film 10/10 as it is what i love in a film- Stupid,kick-ass soundtrack and a host of celebrity cameos. Long Live The D!

Bo! in the USA (2006– )
4/10
totally drained!
30 October 2006
I think that Leigh Francais has now completely used all of his good ideas up. Bo in the USA is nothing more than a tragedy. I admit that i laughed once or twice at Keith lemon but this has killed any dignity that Leigh had (if any as he has done some sick stuff lol). Overall i rated this a 4 because although it has a few laughs it has came to be another bear's tail (A flop)! Therefore Bo in the USA is not in any way a match up to any of the other Bo series (except Bears tail). The celebrities mocked in this series are in no way as good as the other ones and this show should have been cancelled after the first 5 minutes.

Entourage (2004–2011)
10/10
I wish i was on Vince's entourage.
28 October 2006
Let me start by saying i love this show, it is about an upcoming young actor (Vince Chase) who has brought his friends to the top with him. The pilot did start off a little slow but now i have seen the whole of season 1 i have learned to care for the characters. First there is Eric (E), he is Vinces decision maker. Then there's Johnny 'Drama' Chase, hes Vince's brother and cook, he is also an actor. Then of course its Turtle, the lovable screw up, he hustles for Vince. And last but not lease it is Ari, he is Vinces agent, hes a mean soulless man with nothing but making money on his mind. When you combine these character they become Vinces entourage and every show i wish i was a Hollywood actor or a part of an entourage. overall entourage is one of the best series to come from America to England this year. Thank You America.

Beerfest (2006)

i really enjoyed this film.
12 September 2006
I really enjoyed this movie and i didn't expect that at all. This is a typical broken lizard film. i loved supertroopers but i didn't really like club dread, so i wasn't too sure what to expect. this film is about two brothers Jan and Todd Wolfhouse (Paul Soter and Erik Stolhanske) whos German grandfather dies and asks them to spread his ashes in Berlin. the boys travel to Berlin and meet up with Mr Schniedelwichsen, who takes them to an old banged up building where they discover an underground drinking Olympics known as beerfest. beerfest is a competition were drinkers from all over the world compete to be the number 1 drinkers. so Todd and Jan set out to find the ultimate American drinkers that they know to compete, Barry who is a male prostitute, Fink who is the brains of the bunch, and landfill who is a large ... landfill?
