The Thing About Pam (2022)
Interesting method of telling story
The producers took the view of comedy and it works to some extent because Pam is a character. They might could have spread the story out a bit instead of packing it into only 6 episodes. Renee Zellweger was brilliant.
Spencer (2021)
Kristen saves this movie
This movie was slow and awful, but Kristen has well-earned her Oscar nomination. This movie actually makes me think that Diana was a weak person and didn't help herself.
The Woman in the Window (2021)
Disappointing for such a fantastic book
The movie had no substance. I would have given it 0 but it at least followed the book sort of. The acting was disappointing for such a good cast. The story felt so rushed. Read the book instead!
Ratched (2020)
Ryan Murphy and Sarah Paulson
What's not to love when Ryan Murphy and Sarah Paulson team up?! I do recommend reading One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest as background inspiration to the character. Love the costumes and the different storylines to follow.
Travels with My Aunt (1972)
A 9 for Maggie's acting
Maggie Smith is great in the film. I can see why she received an Oscar nomination even if the critics didn't like it. Campy and eccentric but the character was so, except the flashbacks didn't always portray Augusta in this way. The storyline is predictable unfortunately, which diminishes any "twist" to the story. But I like the character who "brings life" to her nephew.
Nothing Like a Dame (2018)
I wish there was more!
Not an artful documentary but an informative one that looks at four great British actresses' career. I'm not sure how much we actually learn about their career but of how they love each other.
Episodes (2011)
Dysfunctional and funny
I watched this because it had Matt Leblanc in it. The first season was great and then it went slightly down hill each season after but it wasn't terrible. I don't know how true it is to how network tv really works but I liked the perspective it brought. The characters are all delusional and at sometimes really frustrating but I think that's the point.
The Act (2019)
INCREDIBLE acting by all
I've not been a fan of Patricia Arquette until now. She and Joey and Cloe played these parts perfectly!
Late Night (2019)
Liked the story but needed more development
I liked the realization that Katherine has that she needs to change with the time, however, I think this important part of the story was too rushed.
I also don't understand why does every story have a cheating story line. So frustrating. It demoralizes relationships and shows people that there's no reason to even get in a relationship.
Some of the jokes about social issues didn't hit their punch and came off more offensive than funny.
Along Came a Spider (2001)
Why make a movie when you don't follow the book?
Very disappointed in this film. The story that kept readers interested was ignored in the film. We didn't get a good sense at all about any of the characters, especially Alex Cross.
Tiny Furniture (2010)
I wanted to like it
Im not an artsy person so maybe I didn't fully appreciate this film, but I felt like it had no actual storyline.
Peter Rabbit (2018)
Better than i thought
Ecin for small children audience but at times it had me laughing so hard!
Snowpiercer (2013)
Hunger Games on a train
Not the greatest but not the worst. The train carriages are the districts of panam. It's another utopia of the social class systems rebellion. Storyline is weak but I like the ending.
Game of Thrones (2011)
Great follower of books
Incredible story and show reflects the story very well. Most impressive are the actors who captured the characters splendidly.
Booksmart (2019)
Female Superbad
Freakin hilarious. Not the most realistic story, but the message is one we can all relate to.
Dead to Me (2019)
What a psycho
This storyline is ridiculous. In what world does this psycho do this?! If it weren't for the acting, I would have given it one star.
Broadchurch (2013)
Great ensemble
Intriguing story and unpredictable. Great cast all around!
Wings (1990)
Funny Nostalgia
The secondary characters are the funniest! Not all the story lines are compelling but the characters make it work. It's also a unique setting instead of a medical, lawyer, or cop environment.
The Favourite (2018)
Wonderful acting and terrific costumes
While I don't know about the historical accuracy of this film, the story was well performed and the costumes were beautiful. All three leading ladies were superb, and I'm really happy to see Emma Stone flourish so much.
The Standups (2017)
Some funny, others not my style
Nate was hilarious!
Fortune was really funny.
The lady from England was funny but I guess not funny enough for me to remember her name.
Northern Rescue (2019)
Why do the women dress like hookers
Pretty good show into family life but not too crazy about the outfits
Once Upon a Time: Is This Henry Mills? (2018)
Amazing
Episodes like this are golden, just wish they were more consistent.
Once Upon a Time (2011)
A sequel to L O S T
The first several seasons were fantastic but like L O S T, the later seasons began losing their flare. Some questions still remain unanswered, but overall a very creative, fun show.
Nurse Jackie (2009)
Funny characters and realistic portrayal of drug abuse
Great job portraying the lengths that drug addicts go through to get their fix. Characters are hilarious. The later seasons are not as good as the earlier ones. I don't think they ever recovered from Eve Best leaving.
The Boss (2016)
People, lighten up!
This film is hilarious. It's not written to be Oscar-worthy, it's meant to be Slapstick funny. Not supposed to be serious so people should lighten up.
