Why can't a story just be about the story?

For the most part it's an enjoyable romp through the mythology that the spiderwick Chronicles created. But then it decides to take a turn toward an agenda that is pushing the story of mental health and post to do with people that have emotional problems. Which is a great topic and absolutely one that should be addressed, but not one that this particular series was focused on.

The music was well picked, the actors were chosen very well. And for the most part you're going to like even the smallest of characters. But the idea that this story has anything to do with this source material is completely lacking.

This movie has no identity. It never knows what it is trying to do, and even does that poorly. It is a hotmess from top to bottom. I only kept watching it because I wanted to believe it couldn't really be as bad as it was. Praying that somehow they were going to put it all together, then towards the middle, just praying it would end. After watching this abomination, I think Marvel movies have sunk even lower than DC movies. The concept was bad, the plot was convoluted, the writing was awful, the special effects werent special, and the acting was a farce. At no point was this worth being a cinematic movie. The only way for Disney to save this phase 4 is to scrap it all together, fire EVERYONE in the room, and let the fan boys have at it again.

I never write reviews, but what the hell happened? Is this a joke? Please say there is a real 3rd episode they are waiting to drop, because this was abysmal.
