Cape Fear (1991)
Not your every Thursday thriller.
Where can I start? De Niro, pufff, helluva a performance, might be his darkest Idk, he got me there I can lie although I'm a big fan haha..
How he got the southern dialect, the body shape, the tattoos, his poker face, the improvised scene with the girl.
This is right from the book of acting, no shading.. The cinema scene? Man, how do you start a film like this? The fight scene, his phrases, the final stretch of the movie, it doesn't get more unsettling I guess..
One of his best ever performances I may say if not his best.. a lot of acting gone in there.
The picture itself is so unlike Martie I guess, but even his thrillers are different.. completely different pov.

Subtle and unsettling
Not the biggest fan of spooky horror movies and stuff but this one is, how can I put it, unsettling yet so subtle? Engaging with the idea of Dante's circles of hell, greif and selfishness, I think it was worth my time.
Coming across the performance of Samuel L Jackson, which was too short I guess but resounding throughout the film.. his phrases and gestures were very catchy to say the least.
I think John is a fine actor, he has that spirit yk? He performs effortlessly, I think he did just fine embracing the role, usually he wouldn't be your go to guy looking for horror but yet here we are haha.
Pulp Fiction (1994)
Iconic
Basically, the nonlinear story is the key to success here, being vague and unexpected in most situations is what got this film to be almost a masterclass.
