Chris Rock: Selective Outrage (2023)
Not good at all
I'm giving this 2 stars for the 2 jokes that he told. A 5 minute diatribe about his daughter didn't even make an attempt at comedy. This was just bad and not worth the watch... If you are desperate, maybe watch the last 10 minutes. He repeats himself numerous times for no reason that I can think of. Comedy is supposed to make you laugh, and I was really looking forward to this and hoping it would be good, but I found myself angry after watching it that I wasted an hour for this garbage lazy performance, hoping it would get better. Hopefully Chris will spend a little more time on joke writing before hi next special.
Mountain Men (2012)
Different producers different fakeness different results
It's hard to rate this series because some of the talent is cursed with terrible fake production and others are good. Each segment deserves its own rating. The Hawk family could be a good segment but winds up being the worst because of the terrible set ups by the production staff. The scenes with them noodling for catfish were so fake it should just be skipped over. The best segments are with the Tom Oor. Second best are Eustace. Anything with the hunting dogs are fast forward worthy.
Santa Clarita Diet (2017)
Great comedy series
Very entertaining and well written. Many laugh out loud moments. I think the reason this series was not as highly watched as it should be is episode 1. Please, if you are thinking about watching this series watch episode 2 before you give up on it. You won't be disappointed. I just finished all 3 seasons and came back on to move my rating up. Very well done!
Gold Rush: Back to Alaska (2020)
Overhead at a meeting of Gold Rush producers
Producer 1: What should we talk about in this episode?
Producer 2: I don't know, but whatever we do we have to mention at least 10 times that the gold prices are high and the gas prices are low.
Producer 1: Great idea! I don't think we've mentioned that before.
Producer 2: Then maybe we should mention it 12 times.
Producer 1: Ohh, that's even more genius.
Producer 2: Thanks boss. I'll let the cameramen know to make sure every miner says it during the interviews.
Producer 1: Perfect! I'll let the narrator know to mention it a few times as well.
Cobra Kai (2018)
Good show gone bad
The flashbacks in season 3 episode 1 are beyond annoying. They flashed back to the same scenes 13 times. Whoever thought they were a good idea to tell the story should be fired. Horrible. Ruined the show.
Gold Rush: The Dirt: Airing of Grievances (2020)
Downhill
Discovery channel has resorted to turning this show into an infomercial for Discovery Plus. Not even watchable.
History 101 (2020)
Not history
Don't be fooled. There is very little history here. This is tree hugger propaganda.
Godspell (2017)
Horrible
This was the first play I ever walked out on. I did wait until the intermission but only out of respect to the other audience members and the cast. My only advice is, don't bring anyone to this for their first play as they may never go to another play again.
Behind Bars: Women Unchained (2017)
Music
Whoever produced this should be out of a job. Did the producer have a kid that is an aspiring music producer so they made a show to give their kid a platform? The music is often louder than the dialouge and it NEVER stops. What were they thinking when they made this? Don't bother watching. Terrible all because of the obnoxious music.
The Innocent Man (2018)
Very poorly done
It's a shame such a bad group of storytellers got the rights to this interesting account of the criminal justice system in rural America. The story being told the way it was in such a disjointed manner made it confusing and frustrating. So many questions weren't asked that should have been. I couldn't help but think at many times during the episodes that the producers were trying way too hard to be "artsy". It just seemed all too often that they were trying to play to those responsible for giving out awards which ironically made the show terrible. I do not recommend this one bit. It was just terribly done.
Buried (2010)
Great concept but very poorly done
It's such a shame that such a good concept was wasted on this garbage. So many questions. How does a fire in a coffin not create any smoke at all? How does this garbage cost $3 million to make? How does a movie editor not notice that the actor holds the phone upside down? How does a editor not notice he ripped off the mouth gag only for it to reappear? How does an editor not notice a guy pick up the phone with his left hand only for it to be in his right hand on the next cut? The only reason I didn't give this awful movie 1 star is that the actor did a good job for what he had to work with. Please, I beg you, don't waste your time with this movie and that should probably extend to any other movie that this editor was involved with.
