The Bear (2022)
Fiction Drama Version of Kitchen Nightmares
I watched all of it i one day. I'm not usually into dramas, but this one worked for me. The people felt real to me. Each of the people had a characterization that made you feel connected to them and their storyline. It's good.
Obi-Wan Kenobi: Part V (2022)
Cheese Grater
Vader...completely awesome.
Flashbacks...good.
Please ignore typos....
Cheese Grater...so Many Plot Holes
1. A dumb version of Bale Organa
2. Leia never is able to fix Lola, but can fix a garage door.
3. A visible control chip, which Leia easily finds at the end of the episode while it somehow went unnoticed by her during the long, boring trip between planets.
4. I can do everything by MYSELF. Just ignore the fifty soldiers I needed with me.
5. Blow that door up. More ammo! Yes while I'm standing in front of you. You're terrible shots. I'll be fine. 10 minutes later...lightsabre slices through easily. Why not use that first?
6. Vader wasn't strong enough to grab the second ship?
7. I watched Jedi children killed. How could he?! I want revenge. My solution involves taking a battalion and leading it to battle against the few remaining Jedi and those that helped them, because the best way to exact revenge for them is to kill them.
8. Here, almost stranger, with questionable morales. Take my phone that has no pass code and contains vital info. Oops, forgot to delete those.
9. There are more, but that was the list I came up while watching YT videos point out even more holes. Did any one edit this script, or were they too blinded by the flash of the specular action to remember to do that part.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022)
Comicbook Movie
This felt like an actual comicbook movie. I could easily see them running it through a comicifier and taking screenshots every few seconds and printing it into a book.
Supernatural: All in the Family (2016)
So Well Acted
Jensen Ackels performance is so engaging in this episode. With a single word he shows that he is Sam's parent, no matter their age. Then he holds the adult conversation of calling Chuck to task. It is a scene that has stuck with me and one that I feel compelled to re-watch independent of the episode.
Ghostbusters: Afterlife (2021)
Nostalgia
It was great! The build up was a little slow, but needed to introduce the characters. If you haven't watched the original in awhile, or if it is your kids first Ghostbusters experience, watch the original first. The stories share connections and there are jokes that will make more sense if you know the original. We applauded at the end! Stay for 2 after scenes.
Supernatural: The Heroes' Journey (2020)
Still Got It
I love that after 15 years the writers still remember to drop in humor episodes and that occasionally we need a fairly stand-alone episode rather than constant stress. Great series!
Supernatural: Who We Are (2017)
Satisfying
This season has many plot issues, but this spefic episode has a very satisfying departure from the British Men of Letters. The scene with Dean in Mary's head was heartbreaking. Jensen is a really good actor.
Supernatural: Don't Call Me Shurley (2016)
Grinning
This episode hit so many plot points that I've been craving. With each one I grinned. Awesome episode!
Supernatural: Fan Fiction (2014)
Spoilers
I have needed this episode. I've been binge watching just trying to get back to a point where the brothers are acting as brothers again and I've been hoping for years that Sam fished the necklace out of the trash before they left that motel room. I really needed Dean to have it back I'm glad the show found a way to do that.
The Mitchells vs the Machines (2021)
Fun!
It is a great mix of comedy, action, and the feels.
The Mandalorian: Chapter 15: The Believer (2020)
Bill Burr Should Get an Award
Bill Burr did a superb acting job in this episode. I've re-watched his key scene because it was worth seeing his reactions and emotions play across his face in that scene. The whole episode was really good with action and character development. Wow.
Unsolved Mysteries (2020)
Boring
Netflix has somehow managed to make Unsolved Mysteries incredibly boring. They don't know how to tell a story. They don't know how to get to the point. I need to know the mystery. I don't need to get to know every neighbor, family member or grocery store clerk vaguely connected to the missing or dead person. I don't need you to extend the length of each episode by giving a slowed down play by play of every nuance of the investigation. Get to the point. Yes the emotions of the people matter. They matter greatly to those who knew the missing or dead person. I'm never going to know that person and I don't feel the need to bond with the people that did know them. Emotions are not a mystery. This is supposed to be a mystery show, not a eulogy. The episode on alien abductions was good. Go back to the original style of the show and bring back the creepy music. If you can't fund filling 6 hour long episodes then make 6 15 minute episodes that get to the point. This show is unbearably boring.
The Mandalorian: Chapter 1: The Mandalorian (2019)
Star Wars is Back
This had the look and feel of Star Wars. It's great!
Shazam! (2019)
Spectacular!
It had a good balance of humor, action, twist and heart warming interactions.
NCIS: Naval Criminal Investigative Service: Engaged (Part II) (2011)
Facing Fears
In this episode Tony faces his fear of being around toddlers. Michael Weatherly plays Tony. Weatherly's daughter was born a few months after this episode aired.
Westworld: Kiksuya (2018)
Favorite
This is the best episode! It had great acting and a solid story that flowed in a relatively straight line.
Solo: A Star Wars Story (2018)
Perfect Title
The title fits the movie perfectly! It was a Star Wars story. I wasn't expecting to like it, because the last few films had so many issues. But this one felt like Star Wars. It had action, comedy and twist and turns in the plot. I'm glad we saw it in a theater.
