Salgueiro Maia - O Implicado (2022)
A very powerful movie
This movie shows with great accuracy a more personal side of one of the most important figures of the portuguese democracy. All the scenes are very powerful and keep you imersed in all the plot, as well as Salgueiro Maia's feelings.
Also, as a portuguese citizen, the movie wasn't cringe or "strange" to hear - I think all the scenes were very natural.
I highly recommend!
Victory (1981)
Good old fashioned movie with great quality
I think this movie is underrated. Sure, it doesn't have the top 21st century quality or effects. Some scenes seem forced or a bit unrealistic - like it was made for a movie!
I thought the movie showed brilliantly all the camaraderie among the players and the life on a POW camp. Also, it was amazing to see Michael Caine and Sylvester Stallone in such "unexpected" roles, breaking the modern stigma of butler and super soldier (respectively). I loved the movie, it was real fun.
Oh, and Pelé's final goal - what a hit!
Passengers (2016)
A good way for entertainment
Although it wasn't particularly an awesome movie, it's entertaining to watch it on a lazy saturday. The plot is original and gives something to think about. Some details were unexpected, which was nice.
There were some scientific details a bit far stretched, but who cares, it's sci-fi - (almost) everything is possible.
Cobra Kai (2018)
Banzai, banzai, banzai
A new defense was added: sand the floor, wax on - wax off, paint the fence, paint the house and watch Cobra Kai. By itself, the show is awesome, but if you are a huge Karate Kid trilogy fan, Cobra Kai drops your jaw, with no mercy. The characters are so well portraited and the plot is AMAZING.
A toca do lobo (2015)
A great movie from a great person
I had the unique opportunity to view this movie and talk with Catarina Mourão. What's amazing is that she is still trying to figure out what the movie is about. Although they talk a lot about the grandfather, the real "action" is in the rest of the family. It was so pure and informal, I almost felt I was part of the movie. There is so much to talk about, yet, so little that we know about the man, Tomaz de Figueiredo. If you want to be intrigued and fascinated at the same time, this is THE movie.
