The Land Before Time (1988)
The most emotional animation I've ever seen
This animated movie was made with hearts from Don Bluth. The scenes are greatly poetical and we can admire beautiful moments such as Littlefoot's mother picking the star tree's leaf and slowly bringing it down, and also Littlefoot's interaction with the leaf. So, the movie has a lot of touching moments. The death of an character is known as one of the most sad scenes ever made in a animated movie, that is widely commented from the audience. The soundtrack is also unforgettable. This movie impressed me so much when I whatched it as a kid that I became a paleontologist because of its influence. I really recommend it for everyone who wants to have a poetical journey of beauty.
You Only Live Twice (1967)
Good, but not the Connery's best
The Connery's characterization as an Asian disguised is funny, not believable at all. But the plot is OK and the movie has good rithym. I believe it is worth watching and good entertainment.
Thunderball (1965)
Average
I think it is better than the previous one, but it's not good as the two first movies. It is very odd to watch Bond forcing sex with a SPA therapist, something current audiences would not approve for the good guy. The underwater climax was something boring. But is an OK movie.
Goldfinger (1964)
The worst Connery's Bond movie
To me is was boring, the action too slow (the two previous movies were fine) the whole plot was uninteresting and the end climax was nonsense. I love Bond movies but I fell I don't want to watch that one again.
From Russia with Love (1963)
Better than Dr No
To me it was a lot better than Dr No. The actors seemed more comfortable with their characters and the dialogues are more fluid, human and realistic. The soundtrack was also improved by Maurice Jarre.
Dr. No (1962)
Everything about Bond is already here
Nice to see that he was born in the movies with all the little famous details everybody love. Very good, good entertainment but a little dated on the action.
Cool Runnings (1993)
A great comedy. They don't make films like this anymore
I loved all the plot details and great scenes. It was a perfect casting. And I love when the villains realize they're wrong and the movie ends with them changing for the best.
Uncharted (2022)
Great movie!
There is nothing really new about this movie, is an adventure like so many others. Said that, it was really funny and entertaining! I loved it. Nice rithim, good jokes, and very respectful for the videogame fans (like myself). I would love sequels.
The Batman (2022)
With good and bad stuff at the same time
With great new ideas for the Batman character, but with too many mistakes for me to enjoy it completely. A weak Alfred, a bad actress as Selina Kyle, Pattinson also seems weak and most of the time doesn't gave The Bat feeling, he walking around and pushing doorbells was also a big issue. Bruce Wayne and Batman characters seemed too depressed, like he was going to cry all time.
Penguin is great, Gotham portrait is great, the soundtrack is great, the dark aspect and violence level too.
Lost in Space (2018)
Great special effects, but problems with storytelling
The spaceship special effects are really wonderful, the action sequences have good pace. But in every urgent sequence (a scene where they have only 20 seconds to get saved) they start a long discussion about trust, loyalty or something like that. And this happens ALL THE TIME. This makes the series feel like an Mexican soap opera. PS: the 3rd season of the best.
Ghostbusters: Afterlife (2021)
A rare event of a respectful sequel
I never bought Ghostbusters our Blade Runner should have sequels. But I was wrong two times. It's not common that the sequel expands the original and keep the exact level of reverence and respect towards it. Those were really a joy to watch. Well done!
Marighella (2019)
Good cinematography, poor history lesson
The movie is based on historical events, but the screenplay tuns out to be biased and distorted in favor of a specific political view. It was an wasted opportunity to tell a dense and interesting period of Brazilian history, if unbiased and properly made.
Anne (2017)
It's a piece of art, but at the end season the script had a few problems
I loved the series. It is poetic, deep, emotional and everything we want in a drama. The art department made a incredible work. The Photography is absolutely remarkable (S2E8 ends with an visually outstanding scene) and so on...
Only when we get to the middle of the last season (episode 7-9 to be specific) the script has big mistakes. The series is so smart in the previous episodes, but then it becomes a flat and non-intelligent piece of feminism propaganda, and worse with some moments of female chauvinism. One example is when Matthew is asked about something he answers "I reckon you've heard from about enough man on this topic". So only women oppinion matter? As an audience, we have no problem watching a series that wants to be a voice to help gender equality. This is noble and is good to watch, but it needs to be done in a pleasant and intelligent way, not in a flat, shallow and uncomfortable way, like a political party advertisement.
The Edge of Democracy (2019)
The pro-corruption movie
The director of this movie belongs to one of the richest families of Brazil and her familys giant company is deeply involved in corruption scandals with PT (the workers party). No surprise if she makes a movie to defend the corrupt who gave her money.
Beakman's World (1992)
The best science series
I never saw a better way to teach science to young people. Even for lay adults, Beakman's world is the best way to teach science because it turns it simple and easy to understand. The series show a lot of difficult themes in a way everyone can understand, and makes it a funny journey. As a scientist myself, I definitely recommend it for everyone. Too bad we had only four seasons!
