Five Nights at Freddy's (2023)
It was fine. If you like fnaf, you'll love this. If you like good movies, you'll hate it.
I do both, so I'll give it a 5 for balance. Could have certainly been worse, but it's a shame the scripts and plot didn't match the visuals or dream concepts. Horror stuff was fine but pretty light and not that scary (likely due to the rating holding it back a bit). Finally, the adaptation from the lore and games is a decent. In summary its, good for a blum movie but should've and could've done more for me as a movie enthusiast first and a fnaf fan second. Also there are a couple cameos to look for since I need to mention something to pad out this review. P. S. Carmen's Bizet/the Freddy theme isn't really in the movie either, which was a bit of a disappointment, but other game sounds do get included.
House of the Dragon (2022)
Show's great. The reviews are not.
Everything from the script, acting, visuals, and story is just as good as game of thrones original four runs.
However there is a constant hypocrisy in many reviews of this show stating how they dislike the show for seemingly random and mostly inconsequential reason such as bad wigs being responsible for a 3/10 rating . A more commonly stated argument being that they liked game of thrones but didn't like house of the dragon because the show was slow and "boring". Anyone who has made this point obviously was one of the people who liked only the action (or just didn't really watch most) of game of thrones, as the parts of the show widely considered the best/most iconic were the slower, more dialogue, and character focused first four seasons.
The whole goal of this new show is to capture the original feel of the GOT series and the ASOIF books that was acclaimed for it's subversion, realism, dark tone, deep politics, well placed and consequential action, and twisting storytelling. House of the dragon captures all of these elements almost perfectly and does some elements even better than the prior works.
Avengers: Endgame (2019)
It's was an event, not a movie
This "movie" acted more as an event to be remembered as the one of the most build up films of all times. It's full of fan service and predictable character interactions. I did like that it really got people ready to see the movie and talk about it and create theories, but nothing more.
Besides the event part, The actual "movie is pretty mediocre. The acting and cgi is fine, but the plot and writing are almost as bad as Game of Thrones season 8. As a semi spoiler the movie also relies heavily on time travel, which is a horrible plot device in any movie, (unless that's what your entire premise is about). The rest of the movie: sets, costume design, lighting, and
action (real movement/choreography) were all fine.
Overall I think the "movie" will be remembered as a HUGE and fun event of the 21st century, but looked upon also as a weak sequel to infinity war and a mediocre "movie".
The Amazing Bulk (2012)
Work of art
Bad but in a funny way, kinda like the room. In all seriousness this movie is so awful it is actually somewhat enjoyable to laugh at.
Moana (2016)
Avrage Disney Princess Formula Movie
Usual Disney princess movie formula describes this movie: Step 1. Chose a theme and setting, Step 2. Start movie with Disney castle, netx add some conflict backstory, then go to characters child where they find something relating to the conflict, skip to the current age character with musical town intro, kill family member(s), character starts adventure with singing and leaves home.
Step 3. Make middle part with more singing and adding characters (good and bad) (also esablish main threat) while main character goes to some places.
Step 4. Add a sad or losing part for the main character.
Step 5. Final sequence or fight where main character discovers something and then wins, then make final scenes where everything is better again, cut to credits.
If you think you have seven this formula before in Disney movies you will know what to expect for this one. The theme is Pacific Islander this time. That is all that is different in this movie. Overall average
