See (2019)
Excellent portrayed of a warrior
Pretty much entertaining. Baba Voss IS the show, especially in the last season. He is an excellent warrior character with an outstanding performance by Jason Momoa. His family is annoying most of the time, particularly his kids Haniwa and Kofun. Queen Kane craziness is so well portrayed that she becomes too irritating to endure. I'm surprised that her own actor colleges didn't cut her head clean off after three episodes of listening to her insufferable voice. I almost quit watching the show because of her.
By the way, it's just a fantasy show. Don't expect too much logic in its content. It's just entertainment.
The Handmaid's Tale (2017)
Interesting but excessively SLOW.
The plot is interesting but it's tooooo slow. The endless close-ups of staring faces are just unbearable. Seriously. If it wasn't for the 10 sec forward button that I press CONSTANTLY, I would have given up watching the show long ago. Actually, you need at least a 30 sec fwd click for each insufferable close-up.
Acting is actually very good, and the characters are constructed in a very solid way. Serena's psychopath behavior is spotless.
Be aware that it may be hard to see. The horror story that it tells is more or less every day's life for lots of women in many places of this world. And know this: it can happen anywhere in a blink of an eye.
Lo nunca visto (2019)
A small town's humorous tale
Four African people escape from human trafficking through the woods and snow. The police are after them for being illegal immigrants, so they hide in a small old town in the hills of Spain.
The movie shows the reality of many actual European rural communities that are disappearing because people (especially young people) move to the cities leaving small towns to die. But the people of Fuentejuela de Arriba are not going to let their community fall without a fight. They meet these four strangers and the out of ignorance prejudices of both groups create some trouble at first, but then they start to know each other appreciating their differences and similarities. They realize they can work together and help one another. "Integrate or die" becomes the town's new motto.
It's a lighthearted and funny simple movie, with a genuine approach reflecting small villages' interactions. If you've ever been in a place like that, you are going to have some extra laugh or two remembering some old cringeworthy character from there.
Funny actors, good performances and an accurate casting.
A nice tale, or a fable if you wish, reflecting sad realities and everyday miseries in a humorous light.
And Just Like That... (2021)
Painful to watch
I thought the previous two movies were a complete disaster focusing on the silliest aspects of the main characters that used to make us laugh and cry in the Sex and The City years, but I was wrong. If you want to see what a complete disaster looks like, watch And Just Like That. It's the absolute void. You can almost hear your neurons dying while you are watching. I've just gave it a 3 out of pity for the good old days.
