Beacon 23 (2023)
Like a bad Syfy channel show
I was hoping for a good new sci fi series but its pretty awkward and the effects are really off-putting. This is a long way off from Silo, another Hugh Howey based show. I have never read that book but so far I don't care about anything going on and it just sounds like sci fi nonsense from people who don't know anything about sci fi. I turned off the second episode during a terrible zero gravity fight scene, that was all I could take. Anyway I don't think I'll give it another go, the visuals are a big problem for me, it just looks like a bad Syfy channel show that will be cancelled soon. I'm happy Silo exists but it's too bad we can't get more decent space sci fi.
Only Murders in the Building: The Show Must... (2023)
This show died after season two I guess
Wow season three is not funny, they packed some names in there but they just waste time saying look at me. The show was fun when they were sleuthing and it was less of a production, literally. I really liked the first two seasons, Martin Short has always been a little annoying to me but that is part of his thing I guess. It somehow worked before, but it feels out of control now and I didn't enjoy it at all, I turned off S03E03, I think I'm done. It's too bad, I was looking forward to some more. Nathan Lane fit, he's a big name but he's funny and can play weird roles, remember funny? Meryl Streep and Paul Rudd just feel shoehorned in there, look we have big names we were friends with in real life??
1899 (2022)
A direct ripoff of Black Silence
1899 is a direct ripoff of Black Silence, a comic from 2016 by the Brazilian comic book artist Mary Cagnin, who was given no credit whatsoever. Panel for panel, frame for frame.
Finished the show and genuinely surprised how torn I am on it. I mean I liked it, thought the final reveal was a superb one that elevated the show on a fundamental level for me and I was left intrigued to anything that may follow. Additionally the show is absolutely beautifully shot, had several breathtaking scenes and its use of language to tell the story was masterful.
However, there was something nagged at me through it all and while I am going to touch on it as generally as I can, still would suggest stopping reading now if you haven't seen the show. Moving on, the show is really understandably focused on human relationships, which works in a way, but almost all those deep relationship they feature are romantic ones. So for a show about those unbreakable emotional bonds, their focus is really narrow. Additionally while I get from the perspective of the story why those emotional connections are executed in the manner they are, watching the show all those bonds ended up feeling really shallow as it was just people realizing they had them.
The Orville: Gently Falling Rain (2022)
Well done, but one issue
This episode has a fleet come to rescue a handful of people knowing this enemy is likely to take out a bunch of them. So they kill all those crew members for those few people??
The Rookie: Day in the Hole (2022)
This show is like Bollywood now.
This was just absurd, the quality of this show is tanking. I really liked this show early on, it was decent. But things have been sliding bit by bit and this episode was like a big drop. This really made me see how much things have changed about this show, it is really kind of sad now that I think about it after this episode.
Aussie Gold Hunters (2016)
Awesome show
This show is still going on, season 7 just started. I'm not sure why it doesn't show up on here. They change some gold prospecting teams from season to season but overall I really like the different types of the business and the personal experiences with it.

Evil: S Is for Silence (2021)
Fantastic episode, the most fun I've had watching this show.
I loved it, the nun was great and it was fun having them operate in that environment. Kristen and the nun had a nice connection, the barrel scene was awesomely funny.
NCIS: Naval Criminal Investigative Service: Blood and Treasure (2020)
This show is going downhill
This show feels like a mess now. The change of characters has been disruptive and the story this season is awful. Who cares about the guys daughter? IDK, this whole series feels like it will end with bad episodes, maybe it was better to quit before all of this.
NCIS: Naval Criminal Investigative Service: Sturgeon Season (2020)
This show is getting silly
Why is the main story about Fornell's daughter and Fornell is a mess, it's just not fun to watch. This show feels like it's dying. With all the cast changes and everything the feeling is not great. Criminal Minds felt like it was past due as well.
The Osbournes Want to Believe (2020)
If you love Ozzy
I grew up listening to him, he's an interesting and funny guy, I can't resist his reactions. He throws some little stories in sometimes.
The Blacklist: The Osterman Umbrella Company (No. 6) (2019)
Great episode with a strange use of a picture for a scene
They used a picture of Jigokudani in Japan (think snow monkeys) as a photo of a location in PA for this episode. This is kind of strange! I love the show!
Fifty Shades of Grey (2015)
I never read it, its not great
I think the actors are good and the camera work was good. I don't think this is so much a bondage book/film as a person who is damaged and can't live another way, then someone loves them and tries to understand and live with them and ultimately fails. The only interesting thing about the film for me was the guys history and how it affected him today. Of course they don't really get into that and cut it off at the end with her leaving. I was hoping she would get through to him so he could be on the road to a normal relationship because he felt a connection to her. I thought that was the predictable ending, but it didn't, so I guess props for going with the unusual ending. I felt like it was a lesson in some people are pretty far from being able to have a normal relationship.
