The Divide (2011)
You're gonna carry that weight...
23 May 2013
This is an incredibly well made movie. Music is perfect, acting is top-notch, and cinematography is mind blowing at moments (especially impressive for a movie that pretty much takes place in a basement.

At the same time it is a dark, grim, disturbing, ugly movie. Watching Divide is like gazing into very dark place in humanity's soul. And there is no khatarsis, no twist, no message. It's "just" an exposition of horror.

I have seen probably between 1500 and 2000 movies, but I can't think of many more that I just can't score on a simple scale from 1-10. It just doesn't apply to this one.

Drone (2012– )

Fantastic piece of Sci-Fi
14 October 2012
Wow. I really hoped, that after District 9 and Moon, we'll see many grown-up, R-rated Sci-Fi movies. Intelligent, not confined into tiny MPAA world of false political correctness and idiotic, repetitive stories.

But it didn't happen (although things like Dredd shine a little hope).

Fortunately our times present opportunity for passionate people to create and spread fantastic work just like Dr0ne. In four short (but not too short) episodes we get a glimpse of near future (really near when you see PetMan or BigDog), where humanoid combat drones are a reality. One such drone obviously goes rogue. And that's all what's obvious ;) I loved execution, cinematography, designs, sets, story. Everything... well maybe besides episode 4. It wasn't most sensible thing to do, but it tied story nicely, giving it a little twist. Overall I'd love to see something like Dr0ne on big screen. I hope name Robert Glickert will be heard of again.

Unforgettable

Maybe it is not one of my favorite movies, but for sure I will never forget seeing it in cinema. It was late and they were showing this movie for a long time, so along with me there were only 4 people in cinema.

It is dark, it is sad. Like after Donnie Darko - you feel melancholy for few hours or even days. I had few opportunities to see it again, but I didn't. After six months I did. Once again I was impressed. And now three years later, this two seances are still enough.

Movie is made perfectly. Acting, editing, music (unique soundtrack piano + ?trumphet?), stage designs, corridor master shot. It is amazing how carefully everything was done.

Impressive every second of the way "Laugh and the world laughs with you. Weep and you weep alone."
