Wrecked (2010)
Almost Great
This movie could have been excellent (or at least rated above 5 / 10 stars) with one or two less loooong drawn out scenes of the main character crawling up (or down or over or through) the woods, stopping and looking out into the wild. Seriously, I wanted to shoot myself from about minutes 45 to 75. I suppose the screenwriter had no choice but to pad the movie since it was already going to be relatively short (hmmm, maybe it could be a Short instead?).
You would think that after 5 years of writing there would be much more than crawling and panning forest shots. Oh well.
Give me the first and last 30 minutes of the movie and I would be very happy with the outcome.
My Summer of Love (2004)
Perfect from beginning to end...
This movie is about the psychology of loneliness the pain of loss and the attempt to find your place in an often harsh world. I absolutely enjoyed this movie and was very happy that the sexuality was downplayed or done tastefully so as not to detract from the main topics of the film.
I thought all the roles were perfectly played as well...from the tortured face of the brother fighting his demons to the eyes of Mona expressing her fantasies of visiting Luxor or Siberia.
I will be short here, but if you happen to catch this film I know you will enjoy it and may even have something to talk about afterward.
