Bawaal? More like bakwaas!
6 May 2024
This movie had some interesting plot lines but most of it didn't make sense or was completely unnecessary and boring. It just felt like the story was not as fleshed out as it could've been. I've never heard of any place where the reputation of a measly high school teacher mattered so much. I feel like that whole storyline could have been cut out. The story would be much more interesting if it focused on their marriage issues and if it cleared the stigma around uncontrollable health disorders like epilepsy. That way, people would be better informed on these disorders and they would learn to be more accepting.

Standup Girl Stands Out!
8 February 2024
This is a very unique show with a great story and amazing acting. I don't think I've seen another Pakistani show like this and I mean that in a good way. It is very realistic and mature and each character brings something different to the table. The humor is spot on and I love the crazy family but it really seems like Zara does not haha. The only tiny flaw in this show is actually her personality. I kind of stopped binge watching because of her attitude with the family. I thought she was an understanding person but the writers of the show really makes it seem as is she's just filled with hatred which she really isn't, not fully anyway, she's a comedian! But that's just my opinion. I'll probably start watching again soon and I can't wait to see how the main characters develop. This is a really promising show and I would recommend it!

Amazing. The Tension is Palpable.
5 January 2024
This movie is so intelligent and it blows my mind that it didn't win an Oscar award back then. I'm Gen Z and the we mostly grew up with a lot of really overly dramatic films and as enjoyable as some of them are, this seemingly simple movie confined to one small setting packed so much tension and drama that it felt like it was about to explode any second. Each juror was introduced distinctly which is hard to do since there are 12 of them and they were all very interesting. The movie kept a great pace throughout and if you were paying attention, it will grip you tight and won't let go. This movie was a very unique experience for a movie made in the 1950s and I doubt there will be any other movie that will make you feel quite like this one.

Cute Little Show
31 December 2023
I love this show. It is very colorful with simplified characters which is easier for kids to perceive. By far the best and most recognizable things about Peep and the Big Wide World is the amazing music and the voice acting. Joan Cusack has a lovely voice and narrates perfectly and along with her, Jamie Watson who does the voice for Quack is OUTSTANDING. He gives so much personality to this sassy little duck and it fits perfectly. The voices for chirp and peep and the others are also great for their roles and the adventures they all go through are fun to watch and I like the real life anecdotes and experiments as well.

Pure Entertainment!
27 November 2023
Jawan is a movie made to entertain and nothing else. Those who are wanting to take it super seriously really shouldn't. I honestly missed these types of Bollywood movies where it's just fun to watch with fun, memorable characters and great action scenes. There was never a boring moment in this movie despite the long runtime. The songs are all awesome and it was great direction from a south Indian director as south Indian movies are all the rage these days. Atlee did a great job despite not having directed many movies before, especially one in Hindi. Now of course the great Sharukh has to be mentioned. I just love Sharukh's passion for any movie he is in, he gives it his all so he performed perfectly. You can tell he genuinely had fun doing this movie. The main actress (who was perfect for her role) and supporting characters all did a fantastic job. Let all your worries go and just enjoy this movie, don't get too analytical. That's the best way to enjoy movies like this.

Jennifer Garner Owns This Movie
14 November 2023
This movie is the sole property of Jennifer Garner and no one else (although Mark Ruffalo is very charming). I always knew Jennifer Garner's face and that she existed and she was famous but I never truly knew why but now I absolutely understand why she's at the top. She was so natural and played the character perfectly even with the bad dialogues. It made me feel really immersed and I even felt the characters emotions. Though the movie is corny, it has its sweet moments and I could feel a lot of chemistry from the main characters. This is not a super serious movie and it should be treated as such. I had a lot of fun even through the weird and awkward parts and I'm sure you will too. It's a simple, feel-good movie and sometimes that's all you need.

Very Intelligent and Heartwarming
11 November 2023
This movie was a really good one. I am very impressed with how such a controversial topic such as artificial insemination was handled in this movie. Some women who go that route are really happy with their decision but some are not, it's very dynamic but I'm glad the movie showed one view point of it and familiarized the concept to India. It's not that controversial in first-world countries but in India, especially in South India, it's seen as a big deal so I'm glad it got addressed. Not only was it handled really intelligently, the dialogues in this movie were hilarious. How the creators of this movie managed to be so mature and hilarious at the same time is amazing. The female character can be seen as very stubborn in the beginning but everyone has their reasons and it was explained perfectly in the movie. The male lead was fantastic and so was everyone else. The only thing I would change is not to paint artificial insemination in such a bad light, there's lots of reasons someone might want it, just let it be a choice that exists for people to make it to not make. Anyways, give this movie a watch, it has some genuinely great moments and lines and is very insightful in how it handled big topics such as love, modern scientific procedures for fertilization, psychology and marriage.

Modern Evil Dead!
5 November 2023
This movie is hilarious and all in good fun. It might not be for everyone, especially those seeking realistic horror movies where the main character makes dumb decisions. There's bad movies where the movie wants you to take it seriously but the character makes dumb decisions so you end up not caring. Then there's movies like this where the character is dumb so of course they make dumb decisions and you definitely shouldn't take it seriously and just have fun with it! Definitely Evil Dead vibes and being part of the younger generation, the things he says and all the YouTube terms are spot on and cancelled influencers will do anything just to have that sweet, succulent clout. Shawn as a character was dumb but in a goofy way where you just want to see the funny predicaments he gets into and you also want to see him fix his reputation. Joseph Winter did a really good job and there were some genuinely scary parts. Give it a watch if you need a good laugh while getting jumpscared every now and then.

For the Fans, Movie Itself Doesn't Have Much to Offer
29 October 2023
The fact that a FNAF movie even happened is just amazing on its own. I am sure lots of people just wanted something to come out just to have the FNAF name out there (they waited 8 years). It is very cool that it happened but due to a very inexperienced director and Scott Cawthon and others not having much experience in working on movies, it couldn't reach it's full potential.

The FNAF franchise has so much great lore and material but a lot of it wasn't used. I'll start with the positives: the animatronics/puppets look fantastic, Jim Henson's team did an amazing job on them. They look about as true to the games as you can get. The cameos of certain people influential to this franchise were very nice to see and some parts were pretty funny. Josh Hutcherson did well as Mike and the guy playing Yellow Bunny (can't remember his name at the moment, he played Shaggy in the Scooby-Doo movies) was also good. The cons of this movie are really all based on the dialogue, writing, editing and directing. Some of the scenes are extremely awkward and even the best actors can't do much with such bad dialogue like there was in this movie. There are some shots that cut away too quickly. Lots of plot holes and sudden shifts in mood and setting that don't make much sense. We don't really get to take our time with the characters and understand them. I know this is supposed to be a simple movie and not a deep one but we should have some sense of their personalities than what was provided. The animatronics weren't as scary as they could have been and they are very scary in the games. The movie just can't decide if it's actually a horror movie or not at times. Overall, this movie had a lot of potential but it just couldn't reach it fully.

The Nun II (2023)

Much Better Than The First
28 October 2023
Pleasantly surprised in this one since the first one was so bad it's not even funny. The stakes were higher, I actually cared about the characters and their motivations and it was definitely scarier. The atmosphere was not as good as the first but it didn't distract from the movie. The acting was really good which can be expected from a big budget movie. There was actually a plot in this one which was followed through about as well as can be expected, though there are still some unclear spots here and there but not big enough to be too noticable. I like the callbacks to previous movies in The Conjuring universe, heck this movie should've been the third conjuring movie. I am glad the sequel improved on the first, which rarely happens nowadays. Nothing too original here but the scares are pretty good and they definitely didn't hold back on the brutality in this one. I still think they could've have done better for the nun who is such a creepy character but this is about as good as it gets right after the second conjuring movie. Overall, not a complete waste of your time and a lot of improvements from the first.

India's Best Dancer (2020– )

A Lot of Unnecessary Drama
9 October 2023
This is not a competition show like it should be, it's a lot of staged emotional segments. There's more of the celebrities and their shenanigans than the actual talented competitors, who don't get a lot of time to shine. Even when the competitors get to perform, it's still overdramatic. The judges themselves don't know anything about dancing other than one of them. You can have some celebrity judges who are purely there because they're famous, that's fine, but actual choreographers who know a thing or two should be the majority. I am not sure about the earlier episodes but based on the recent episodes I've seen on TV, there's not much substance in them. The dancers and stage designs are fantastic but it is missing the main point of being a competition and is more like a drama TV show.

One of the worst
2 October 2023
Was watching this random episode with my little brother and usually I love SpongeBob but this episode was so bad. It's just absurdist "humor" and they were constantly just showing weird things and there was barely any plot. This was just lazy writing and to compensate, they decided to be gross and the realistic pictures were overused. Usually, in older and better episodes, the realistic pictures were used for exaggeration but they just used it for no reason. It's unfortunate that without Stephen Hillenburg, the other creators of the show just cannot come up with anything. I also noticed the humor has become Tom and Jerry-esque like more slapstick humor instead of intelligent, random humor.

The Future of Animation is Bright!
17 August 2023
What can I say about this amazing movie that hasn't already been said? The Last Wish gives me hope for the future of animation. It is up there with the animated spiderverse films, mainly because it borrows that animation style and I'm not complaining! It is so fun to watch and rewatchability of this movie is insane. As compared to the first movie, our favorite fearless hero (that song is stuck in my head) actually has dimensions to his character. Imagine that, a sequel to a mediocre Shrek spinoff has this much thought put into it! All the other characters were very entertaining and it delivered on the story and on actually having a great villain in Hoerner and Death (straight. Up.) The voice acting was incredible and kept me further engaged with the movie. DreamWorks is doing something right and I hope they keep it going like this in the future.

Entertaining enough
4 July 2023
This one paid some homage to the original which was fun to see. The kills were really unique and brutal. The setting and atmosphere was nice and different. Had a killer intro scene and title card that really hyped me up but it just kind of stayed at the middle level throughout. I didn't feel as scared of the deadites like I was with the previous evil dead movies. Even the 2013 remake had me kind of nervous about the deadites unpredictability but in this one, the dead just seemed a bit lazy and not so horrifyingly violent. Of course I knew not to take it seriously and I didn't which is why I found myself enjoying it some but it's definitely missing something. Maybe the funny creative one-liners or characters that we actually have a lot of connection with. Overall, it's a decent addition to the evil dead franchise but it's not as entertaining as it could be because it definitely had potential. It's a fun watch for a horror movie night with your friends.

Pretty Good Surprisingly, You Just Have to Wait
28 June 2023
I will be honest, this movie looked mediocre to me and my thoughts were confirmed after watching the first few minutes. It looked to be an average haunted house movie where a happy family is torn down towards the end. The only thing slightly different was that the wife is pregnant. I stuck with it to see if there was any uniqueness due to that and I'm actually glad I did. Despite the run of the mill introduction, there was actually some intelligence here and there was a lot of substance towards the end. The main actress was very good and she sort of carried this movie on her back. If this movie had the pacing it did towards the last half hour, a lot of people would stick around and enjoy it. The scare factor could have been upped for sure and should have been executed better to be really effective but overall, I would recommend it for a simple horror movie night.

Not Bad
24 June 2023
The Bad Guys is worth watching and isn't a complete waste of your time. There are some intelligent characters present and they are very fun to watch and very likeable. I love the dialogues in this and it's not just stupid kid jokes though I really didn't like the fart thing with piranha, that was unnecessary and stupid. The movie surprised me, I expected a generic kids movie after the trailer but this surprisingly had some thought put into it. The action scenes are nice and the voice acting really brings it home. It does become somewhat predictable and straightforward towards the end but it's nothing that would turn people off the movie completely. Overall, a very nice family movie.

Wasted Potential
22 June 2023
This movie had a unique concept and there were many moments where I found myself thinking "this COULD be a creepy moment" or "this COULD be better if this happened" and on and on. Lots of should's and could's and if's were going through my head watching this one but they just didn't happen. The movie was bland, the characters were bland. I can't figure out if there was an antagonist but if there was, they were also bland. Scares were mostly cheap. I tried not to be too harsh on the acting since this is a independent movie but they really could've at least tried. I want to support small movie makers and give them a chance but I despise it when they have no idea what they are making and where they're going with a movie and especially if they're wasting people's time doing this nonsense. People are spending hours upon hours giving some movies a chance and it sucks when those hours are wasted.

Nanny McPhee (2005)

Great Family Movie!
17 June 2023
Nanny McPhee is a wonderful, feel good family movie. It explores family relationships and Nanny McPhee herself teaches a few lessons along the way. She is a very interesting character and Emma Thompson plays her perfectly, I don't think anyone could've done it better. The children were fantastic as well and very entertaining. I first saw Colin Firth in Pride and Prejudice and fell in love and he does very well in this movie. So why not a perfect ten stars? Well, as great as the movie is, it can get very corny and ridiculous at times but that can be overlooked since this is a family movie. It lost me sometimes in some plot points when it rushed a bit and I thought Colin Firth and the actress who plays the older strict woman (she also played Professor McGonagall in Harry Potter, apologies for not remembering her name at the moment) could've been utilized more but overall, this movie is great fun for everyone.

Redefined the 80s
17 June 2023
The Breakfast Club is outstanding for it's time and is totally unique. The characters are all intelligent and not at all what one expects when seeing the popular girl, the weirdo, the bully, the nerd and the jock. I watched it recently to see why everyone keeps talking about this movie and now I completely understand and regret not watching it sooner. The movie stands the test of time and is still relevant today in 2023. The acting was phenomenal and the cast just fit right in with the characters they were playing and it seems they had a lot of fun doing it. You as the audience will understand them, cry with them and laugh with them. You'll be part of the club.

Mediocre and Misguided Movie
25 May 2023
Right off the bat, the introduction was decent but then the love story took up too much time in the beginning. I did not find myself interested in their relationship and it doesn't fit well to the overall theme and feel of the movie. The characters are not very interesting. The songs are not memorable by any means. Few creepy moments and some decent camera shots and angles. South Indian movies tend to have abrupt scene cuts due to bad editing so the movie may be hard to follow in some parts and the pacing may be off. It's a shame really, because the concept sounded very interesting but I feel as if the movie makers didn't really know what they wanted to do with this movie.

Ridiculously Bad Show
25 March 2023
Imlie wasn't good to begin with but it has reached an ever lower level than I thought possible. While the show started out promising, it quickly took away any hope with the ridiculous plot points and the characters themselves. I was actually rooting for Malini but of course the writers put themselves into a loop and the only way they could get out of it was to villainize her. I understand this is a soap opera but even some soap operas have a somewhat coherent and consistent plot but this show was a jumbled up puzzle box where nothing fit or made sense. Recently, the show has literally started over again with the cheapest plot points and I cannot fathom how Star Plus has gotten like this after great shows like Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon. This show needs to be put out of it's misery for everyone's sake and needs to be cancelled ASAP.

Surprisingly Good!
22 March 2023
I wasn't expecting too much from this movie and tried to not know too much before watching it. This movie is surprisingly good and I like the fourth wall breaks and self awareness. It wasn't taking itself too seriously so I adjusted my expectations and did the same. The monster itself was pretty unique and plenty scary, I really like the practical effects. The movie stood out to me right away when it started with a brother and sister pair which you don't see in a lot of horror movies. The truck is pretty iconic and a lot of unexpected things happened and I was pleasantly surprised, especially with that ending. Overall, a good creature feature that stands out in its own way.

Stay For The Last Tension-Filled 30 Minutes
13 March 2023
I am usually a fan of k-dramas but this is the first Korean horror film I've seen and I've heard Korea makes great horror so I decided to give it a try.

The film starts off like any other found-footage horror film and we get introduced to the characters as they laugh and goof around. The setting is introduced as the "captain" narrates the history of Gonjiam asylum. The place has a creepy history but I wish they did more things with the history as it isn't explored too much, just to build some basic foundations for the rest of the movie.

The beginning of the movie drags on as the crew explores and this portion is far too long. It's only an introduction for the creepy parts that will happen later on but again, the history could've been incorporated here but it wasn't.

After the initial hour or so of nothing much happening, the amazing last 30 minutes hits you like a brick. The tension is palpable and it is straight up terrifying. The scares are plenty and I wish these tension filled moments would come just a bit earlier in the movie so that the movie doesn't lose anyone in the first hour. It's a shame that people might lose interest in the beginning part because it gets so much better.

Overall, this movie is a good Korean horror movie and you just have to hold on a little longer for the last parts. It is worth a watch!

A sweet, feel-good movie
1 February 2023
After Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, there's been very few good romantic comedy movies from Bollywood so it was awesome to find this movie which is really creative, realistic, funny and cute. Most of the characters were likeable (screw you Sushant) and I had a lot of fun watching it. There was always something happening and the two leads had great chemistry and I was rooting for them all the way. The creativity is great for 2008, a lot like the other Hollywood romantic comedies around that time and a lot better in some ways too, the music was also excellent, courtesy of the GOAT of music, A. R. Rahman. The only reason I gave it a 9 instead of a 10 is because the ending could've been just a little better. Aditi and Jai are definitely one of my favorite Bollywood couples though, right under Anjali and Rahul. Like I said, it's a feel good movie that'll make you feel all nice and warm inside and give you some good laughs along the way, give it a watch if you haven't already!

Trying to normalize what's not normal and fake reviews!
27 January 2023
A word of caution, don't fall for the fake reviews! They are written by the people who made this show and it's the same reviews over and over, they are very desperate. As for the show, nothing too crazy going on here, classic poor girl and the CEO but it's worse this time, because the CEO is basically a grandpa, the main actress even called him uncle at one point! They overdid it with Raichand's character, coloring his hair and beard so white to make him look way too old. They are showing it like all old people will be nice like him but in reality, a lot of them are creeps and it's telling girls it's ok to fall for your uncle figures which is gross.

As for the acting, it is okay except for the lead actress who is very annoying, like to the point of exaggeration. The lower middle class people in India are not like how they are portraying it, people are smarter now and not as traditional as the show is portraying it to be, they are showing it like the lower middle class is still a mess and are living in the stone age!

Overall, the concept could've been good but they went overboard with the characters and made the main actress unlikeable, not to mention they're promoting grooming.
