Country Comfort (2021)
Surprised how Unwatchable this was
Just unwatchable. Poorly written script, direction was bad. Editing was too jumpy and got me very dizzy, likely because of bad directing. And what was with the overacting? Its as if they asked they tried to make the leads Lucille Ball and Desi in a country music inspired show.
Anyway it's so bad .... I give it a 1.5 out of 10.
In the Dark (2019)
S1 was great, but S2 was a hot mess
Season 1 was very enjoyable but what was going on with season 2? I mean people were saying "I love you" after a week of dating; Max gets out of prison to find Murphy daring Josh, but initially his main focus is to get her to admit she's working for a drug lord only to then be annoyed she's a boy is texting her and then in episode 11 he's like "I can't take this anymore" it's like... really? You've only been out of prison less than 20 hours. Very sappy and unrealistic. The worse is Dean somehow teleports himself time every location when someone happens to be saying something that allows him to be more manipulative. Like he's about to lose money or he lost his job and suddenly he happens to be at guiding light and sees potential evidence. The whole thing was just infuriating. The only reason why I sat thru it was bf Season 1 was good. Did they get new writing?? The whole thing was messy. The only thing that made me watch to end was the actor who plays Dean's partner helped shift the mood around. He was enjoyable to watch.
Jack Ryan (2018)
Season 1 was a "9" but Season 2 was a "O" hence "6" rating
Like what some people said below, Season 1 was kickass and great! I was stoked to dive right into Season 2 ~ which was TERRIFYINGLY BAD! Here are the two big differences: Production Value!
Season 2 was shot in Bogota and man! Is it me or is logistics there terrible? Why did the DP or Gaffer not light anything? There's too many scenes where all the actors have to stand really close to the window to get any light on them. Was there a power outage during the shoot? Why didn't they use any lights? And then they kept shooting the characters right in front of the sun so their faces were blacked out. Also why were all the car Scenes so dark? I DID NOT enjoy any of the episodes I had to stop after episode 3 and honestly didn't know what I had just watched...
Also why did Jack Ryan go back to the private investigator to have a one night stand? Just seemed out of character for him. Also what happened to Cathy?! I would have been happy for season 2 to continue with his relationship with Cathy. Anyway I heard they changed show runners and man is it so obvious. I'm glad to hear for season 3 showrunners will change again but i really hope they move it back to Europe or New York and use the same writing team as season 1 and cinematographer... thanks
Dare to Be Wild (2015)
Good movie. Great message.
I didnt know anything about the movie going in as it was suggested to me on Netflix. So it wasn't until the ending notes that I knew it was based on a true story's
The movie has a great message based on the dreams of the heroine and hero... Mary and Christy of being able to replant the earth from what climate change and modern development has deprived areas and our memories from the beauty of nature.
The romance aspect was nicely organic and grew as they realized they were sharing the same ideas and dreams.
Anyway, in short. I liked it. Great work for first time director Vivienne and I also enjoyed the cinematography.
