6 Weeks to Mother's Day (2017)
An Inspiring, Entertaining, and Beautiful Story
6 Weeks to Mother's Day is an inspiring film that was both immensely entertaining and moving! It begins by showing a school in Thailand and the woman, Mother Aew, who has run it for 35 years but within the first 10 minutes, the film draws you into the world of the Children's Village so completely that it feels like you are there with all the students and dedicated teachers. The message of raising children with freedom, choice, and lots of love is a perfect one for our time. The cinematography and technical aspects are excellent. The filmmakers' access to the participants is truly incredible and allows the viewers to witness how Mother Aew transforms the students' lives. This is an amazing film will appeal to both adults and youth. It's highly recommended!
Before the Dawn (2019)
A Stirring Romantic Drama
Before the Dawn was an emotional story about an unconventional relationship between a teacher and her student. But more than that it explores how we can find healing from past trauma in the most unexpected places. Excellent acting and high production values throughout this outstanding drama. Highly recommend!
Stadium Anthems (2018)
Really Fun and Entertaining Mockumentary
This is a fun, funny and highly entertaining exploration of the music industry! The female leads were terrific and even though it's a mockumentary/satire, the performances, production values, and music are first rate. Now I wish there was a soundtrack to buy! Definitely recommended!
Purdah (2018)
Beautiful Story of Following One's Dreams
Purdah is a fantastic documentary that shows the importance of being allowed to follow one's dreams. It's even more critical for the women who have limited options in Kaikasha's family. At turns, hopeful and heartbreaking, this film is for viewers who want to be completely drawn in by a character and learn about her story. Following Kaikasha over time, we fully experience her life as young Muslim woman who completely loves cricket and wants to have the opportunity to play. You don't need to understand cricket to enjoy and appreciate this intimate portrait of a young woman in pursuit of her dreams. A beautiful and exceptionally well-done film! Wonderful cinematography, music, and editing that places you right there in India with Kaikasha. Highly recommended!
