Dangerous Lies (2020)
Watch And See For Yourself
I'm not sure what people expect anymore? It's like nothing is good enough. Was this a masterpiece that I will watch over and over? No. Was it a good way to kill an hour and a half? Yes.
The movie was enjoyable enough. Not everything has to be blockbuster material to be good. And those criticizing the acting? I'm not sure what movie you watched, but the acting was just fine.
Was the story super original? Nah. Who care? It's an escape from reality for an hour and half. People need to chill. I'm starting to think that a lot of the reviews on here are just from bitter people who don't like anything.
Check it out and decide for yourself. You can always turn it off if it doesn't grab you in the first 20-30 minutes.
Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw (2019)
Pure Entertainment
Has it all been done before? Yes. Does that matter? No. Is it over the top in every way? Absolutely. So what; it's entertainment. Some movies are just made to enjoy, without having to put too much thought in to watching them.
Like I said, everything about this movie is over the top, way over the top, but it's action packed. The acting is outrageously over the top, but the humour and skill is excellent.
I think it would have done even better had it not been released under the Fast & Furious umbrella. I held off seeing the movie for so long, because I think the whole F&F thing is spent. Glad I took a chance and watched it.
Turn off your brain, grab a drink and a snack and just enjoy this for what it is: pure entertainment.
Star Trek: Picard (2020)
Ignore The Bad Reviews
Not sure what people were expecting, but all the bad reviews seem a little suspect. I like this show way better than The Next Generation, and almost as much as the Enterprise series. Patrick Stewart is in fine form. The storyline is good, and the acting is solid as well.
Maybe people need to to go back to just enjoying movies and tv shows instead of picking everything apart. It's fiction, an escape. Sadly, I believe the expectations of some viewers makes it impossible for them to enjoy anything. And that's unfortunate. Oh well, the haters will moan, and I will sit back with all the other fans of the show and enjoy it.
Hired Gun (2016)
Great Documentary!
Forget about the guy who bitched about Steve Vai and wrote a whiny review. This documentary doesn't look at the most famous session players (Like Vai), it follows people you may have never heard of (but whose talents you may have heard). The depth and honesty of the documentary is palpable. The players it does focus on show just how high the highs and how low the lows are when you dedicate your life to playing someone else's music. A couple superstar artists come out looking like douche bags for the way they treat their side men, but for the most part, the documentary steers clear of drama.
