The Office (2005–2013)
9/10
Great comedy that I think just surpasses the original
27 July 2023
The US version of The Office was on a hiding to nothing trying to capture the feel of the British version. To me it is akin to trying to do a remake of Faulty Towers which was tried and failed dismally. The US version has maintained a very high level of consistency over many seasons. The acting and writing is exceptional. One thing the British version did better was to provide that cringe factor. So many times watching the British version the David Brent character would make you squirm in your seat whilst watching, I didn't get that feeling from the US version. Both versions are brilliant but I give the edge to the US version for its longevity.

A very good anti war movie but not a great movie
30 December 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Unlike many others I cannot rate this movie very highly. The script and acting is almost ridiculous at times. At the start of the movie the general in command of the 701 heaps high praise on his men and tells the other general that no offer of promotion could make him risk any of his men in a useless effort to take the enemy position. Then within a nano heart beat during the failed attack he calls them all scum and wants to shoot them all.

During the courts martial the prosecutor is smiling like a cheshire cat when questioning the men, how ridiculous. It just wouldn't happen in a matter so serious, hell even the private on trial was smiling like a buffoon.

Surely there must be some frenchman in Hollywood.

If you want to see a great movie watch Breaker Morant

Incredible story

This story has everything hollywood could wish for in a story; courage, fear, hope, joy, love, lies and tragedy. Hollywood had a crack at turning this epic story into a blockbuster movie starring a very good actor in Colin Firth; however, in my opinion they failed miserably as it does not hold a candle to this documentary.

Days of our lives on an airplane

The genre of this movie would sit in the disaster category, which is very appropriate given the acting on display and the lame script. The acting was poor even for a soapy.
