Believe The Hype

There's a reason "Dollface" is popular on Hulu and I can clearly see why. Extremely well written and easy to binge. I ran through all 10 episodes in one night and then watched them all again! I can't get enough of this sharp, fresh, and certainly fun series. Season 2 can't get here soon enough!!

Dallas & Robo (2018)
10/10
Trucking Hilarious
30 May 2018
When I saw the trailer for this I thought it was funny enough. I ended up loving it. The plot is great. The show has its gut-busting hilarious moments, it has its sad/serious moments - all in one. The situations Dallas & Robo get themselves into are bizzare, unexpected and entertaining. Dennings and Cena make a fun unlikely pair (one being a human space trucker and the other an AI) and their line delivery adds immensely to the awesomeness of the show. 10 out of 10 would recommend this to someone to give it a try.

Kat Dennings is a Gem
15 December 2017
Warning: Spoilers
Dennings takes on the role of Renee Yohe (a depressed 19-year-old with substance abuse problems) and does it flawlessly. She perfectly depicts a young woman who never quite feels like she's winning.

From the minute you see her on screen she grabs hold of you and takes you on her journey. The movie is colorful and vibrant at first, then becomes dark and cold. Renee pushes her family and friends away after a rave her and said friends (Jessie and Dylan) attend. Things to down hill for Renee after and two years later they reconnect and try to get her help.

After 5 days of detox, she's submitted into rehab. Now, once she gets out she soon discovers she's still "messed up" and has a drawback. One day at a time is what she's told to do.

This movie is wonderfully done. It brings awareness and light to an audience that might not know a lot about this topic. Through her personal struggles, the foundation To Write Love on Her Arms was made to help people going through similar things know they're not alone.

No, just... no
21 November 2017
I gave this show a chance, I really did. After watching the first three episodes I still finished the whole season despite the cringe. Oh, the cringe.

The overall plot of the show isn't all that original. It's nothing we haven't seen before. Not only that, but the acting is brutal. No offense to any fans of McCurdy - she can't act. At least not well enough to be this show's driving force. Pretty much all of these actors have expressionless faces as they read botched dialogue. The only saving grace for this awful show is the older sister Melissa. She can do much better than this.

Fortunately for Netflix, this show doesn't reflect all of their originals. If you want a good sci-fi thriller I suggest Stranger Things. Anything but this.

Puberty Gone Right!
30 September 2017
Now, this topic is rarely discussed like it's not a thing, but it is and many girls and boys feel alone about it. This show not only isn't afraid to talk about it, but it makes it hilarious and "normal".

The show is rated MA (mature audiences) so expect some adult content. I mean, the whole show does revolve around going through changes.

Nick and Andrew are the two main boys who are awkward, tweens then there's Jay - also a tween with an over-sexualized imagination - and Jessi and Missy are the two main girls. The Hormone Monster and The Hormone Monstress guide the opposite sex on their journey through puberty. Add ghosts, a talking Statue of Liberty and genitals that have eyes and you can't get more hilarious than that.

10/10 would recommend. Puberty doesn't have to be an uncomfortable topic and that's what Big Mouth strives to teach.
